As the topic description tells, I want to get rid of all sounds while playing on Discovery.
I want to listen to music while playing.

I use to alt-tab a lot, so just changing it from options doesn't work, because the sounds come back.
So, I'd like to know if there is an easy way to get rid of the sounds.

if you dont want the music, just kill the Music folder, or just rename it.

While we're on the subject, is there anyway I can simply change the music to my own choices, or does that not work?

I think renaming your own tracks to the names of the FL music and replacing the originals might work.
Only one way to find out smile.gif

Kudos to you, sir. I will try that right away.
E: Luckily I didn't delete all the files in the audio folder. The game freezes on startup when you move/delete everything in the "AUDIO" folder.

I tried that but it still leaves the annoying ambience music when entering asteroid/mine/debris fields and such.

I will try if renaming both, "MUSIC" and "AMBIENCES" folders to see if it has the same effect as changing the music volume to 0 from options.

I will tell the results in a few minutes.
Tenacity
you can replace the freelancer music files with your own audio files (by renaming your audio files to the same things as the freelancer music files) - but I think they have to be the same duration/length or it screws the game up...

Alright, renaming the folders I stated in my previous reply has worked like a dream so far.
Problem solved at least for now.
El-Geeko
I successfully replaced half of my Freelancer music with other tracks of my own choice and quite like the results.

I also picked out a new set of UI sounds from other games.

I'd share all of this if it wasn't a copyright violation (which I'm sure it is somehow...)
Marshal
I think there is an .ini for it changin volume but it probably does the smae thing as the options menu does.
