The defensemode parameter of Player Owned Bases has been rewritten.
There is now five defense modes to choose from. Please note that defensemode 0 does not exist anymore and all bases that were using it have been set to defensemode 1, which is close to the same thing.
With the arrival of this rewrite, the little issue that bothered some POB owners is now gone and they are asked to give an IFF to their base as asked in the following thread (and the punishment for not abiding is written there as well) http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=124335
This should cover almost all if not all scenarios.
If you're unsure about what the logic is, for defense mode 1 it is :
Code:
First step: - Is the player blacklisted? If yes, turn hostile. If not, continue checks.
Second step: - Is the player whitelisted? If yes, turn friendly and give docking rights. If not, continue checks.
Third step: - Get the player's IFF standings. If his reputation sheet to the NPC affiliation of the base is hostile, turn hostile. If rep is friendly, turn friendly. If neutral, turn neutral. No docking rights either way.
for defense mode 2 it is :
Give docking rights if friendly or neutral.
for defense mode 3 it is :
Code:
First step: - Is the player blacklisted? If yes, turn hostile. If not, continue checks.
Second step: - Is the player whitelisted? If yes, turn friendly and give docking rights. If not, continue checks.
Third step: - YOU DIE if not whitelisted.
for defense mode 4 it is :
Code:
First step: - Is the player blacklisted? If yes, turn hostile. If not, continue checks.
Second step: - Is the player whitelisted? If yes, turn friendly and give docking rights. If not, continue checks.
Third step: - Neutrality. Give docking rights.
for defense mode 5 it is :
Code:
First step: - Is the player blacklisted? If yes, turn hostile. If not, continue checks.
Second step: - Is the player whitelisted? If yes, turn friendly and give docking rights. If not, continue checks.
Third step: - Neutrality. Do not give docking rights.
Ingame /base documentation has been updated as well.
Due to dev magic on the part of Alley and Blodo, the Player Base Status page here, now also lists the affiliation of each base. One thing we discovered, however, is that some bases do not have an affiliation. This is a violation of the following rule governing all POB's:
- Players are required to post the name, IFF, system and purpose of their base in this subforum prior to becoming Core 2.
If your base does not have an affiliation, then I recommend it being set immediately. It should be the same affiliation as the one you posted to us when you made your last Core Upgrade Request. Any variance from that will result in possible testing of Alley's new POB destruction command that Admins now have at our disposal. You have one week to comply. If, for some reason, you cannot set the affiliation in the time allotted, PM one of the Admins with a reason justifying the delay.
In order to facilitate the Official Faction perks for the next update, we will be providing each Official Faction their own ID. This will be a different ID from the NPC ID they currently carry. These new ID's will become available at selected NPC bases convenient for each respective faction and available for Official Faction members only. For all Official Factions, the devs are going to fix faction reps so that they match faction diplomacy.
What we need is:
- Description of your faction (a short paragraph, in line with their approved lore, so no "our faction's the best thing that's happened to Sirius ever" stuff)
- Full list of your diplomacy/rephacks you want on your ID
- A sellpoint for the ID (has to be an NPC base, but not necessarily a guard base)
FAQ
What are the Official Faction Perks going to be? You will have to wait till the update to find out.
When is the Update? Don't ask. You'll only delay it another month.
What about Factions that already have their own ID? If there are any changes in faction diplomacy, faction description or sellpoint for your ID, then post here with the request.
What will happen with the NPC ID's that Official Factions currently carry? These will still be carried by indie players and no changes at this time will occur with them.
How will I be able to distinguish between Official Faction ID and NPC ID? There will be the Faction Info that you provide on the ID itself, or something indicating that it is the Primary ID for that faction. Please remember that this ID is for Official Faction members only.
Note: This thread has a designated purpose of providing necessary faction information. Official faction leaders, or a representative authorized by them, are the only ones allowed to post in here. All other posts will be invised. This will help our devs in not having to sift through non-essential information in order to get what they need. If there are any questions or concerns, please post them in a separate thread.
