Finally, after almost a year our ModDB page has been updated and a 4.86 download added to the site. Some of you may remember that we won the simulation genre award of MOTY-2006. Help us get a nomination for the top-100 so that we can make it to the next stage.
As you can see, we've updated the forum theme yet again. This is the last time for a long while, I promise. We have a number of issues to fix and will work to resolve these as quickly as possible. We know there's an issue in Firefox and I'll be fixing this shortly. There should be no broken icons but if you see some, please post and let us know.
The reason we've moved to a single theme, rather than offering several alternatives is that posts that worked on one theme wouldn't work on others. A single theme resolves this issue.
As some of you may be aware the new forum does not have a separate display name feature and uses your username instead. For the time being, we have given regular members the ability to change their forum names at will due to the unintentional changes that came with the removal of display names after the transfer to MyBB.
Unfortunately this makes keeping track of who people are significantly more difficult and time consuming for the forum staff. As well as opening up a huge amount of potential for abuse from members.
Because of this the ability to change your username is going to be removed one month from now. You have until the end of December to change your name to something you are happy with. After this point any name changes will have to be approved by the forum staff.
We understand that a lot of you will miss the ability to change your name, but it just isn't going to work any more.
Spread the love, Your friendly neighbourhood moderator.
As many have noticed by now, Discovery server is experiencing server stability issues. This is due to once again the server being under a DDOS attack that follows the same patterns we've experienced earlier this year. Predictably enough we are expecting the pattern to continue to target prime time and are already discussing measures to remedy this issue up to and including the potential move of the server to a host with higher security measures. Please be patient and we will keep you updated.
Since the forum upgrade we've had many issues with our email notifications for registrations, password resets and thread subscriptions. These issues have been resolved. If you experience problems with emails, please post in this thread.
We've also updated our proxy configuration. With luck we'll see fewer undefined and cache errors.
