I agree with both statements. I should have an IS-3 soon enough and I also keep a Leopard handy for some light tank fun :)

Hell yeah. I love both my T-34 as well as my T-34-85. I love the fact you can branch out to Russian TDs as well as to the RUS) heavy tank branch (through IS-13) from them.
Sure it takes plenty of experience to actually research all those tanks from them, but it doesn't feel like much of a grind if you're having fun doing it, so meh.
Also bought myself a Wespe to try playing as artillery just yesterday and it's actually surprisingly satisfying...
The ability to ignore various kinds of infantile super l337 gamers comes in handy whilst playing WoT though.

I'm have that first tier artillery for the US, first thing I got. Love it! I even win at mid range battles. And when my teammates take out the enemy's treads... :D

I take part in the Clan Wars. Really epic stuff. Kind of like an "end game" game that gives you something to do after the long grind to the high tier tanks. It's not easy though. Last night I took part in a landing tournament as we are the second division of our clan and need to foothold on the map. Sadly we lost in the semi finals....

Srsly. Awsome game.
I find that 'grinding' actually fun, besides you get to know how the stuff works before the late game. As I believe the game become even more fun then you get involved in clan wars.
