Subject: Frankfurt incursion

Guten tag officers,

Today we had a Corsair incursion deep into the Frankfurt system. I must admit their stealth is commendable, yet a small fleet like that is hard to keep undetected for long. They were close to entering the New Berlin system but we managed to block their attempt just in time.

I must admit that the speed in which we assembled our fleet was wünderbar. We assembled, decided a strategy and followed our orders. We took some small losses but we managed to overwhelm them pretty quickly. I must admit that especially their fighters are very agile pilots!
Also, we can confirm now that the Corsairs and the Order are in an alliance. Not great but then again, we were fighting them both already anyway.

Subject: Liberty Rogue encounter Hudson, 18.09.829

Guten Abend Officers,

while guarding the Hamburg jump gate in Hudson, we stopped an Orbital Spa and Cruise vessel. Their cargo was in order. Upon being questioned about irregularities on their route here, they could not recall anything unusual. After a while, we picked up an unaffiliated Valkyrie on our scanners, which was, according to its own statements, coming from Manitoba and heading to the Sigmas.

Before we were able to find out more, two Liberty Rogue ships appeared as well. A cruiser with single fighter escort, the cruiser opened fire on the Orbital Spa and Cruise vessel shortly after arriving. Kommandant Kertz urged OS&C to depart for Hamburg, while the Sprotte moved into the direct line of possible fire. The unaffiliated Valkyrie kept its distance, while the Rogues demanded some of our previously captured criminal pilots. As there is no ground to negotiate with criminals, Kommandant Kertz firmly denied. Subsequently, hostilities ensued.

Being outmatched by the Rogue cruiser in firepower as well as numbers, despite us holding our ground considerably well, the Valkyrie offered to assist us - for a price. Kommandant Kertz accepted.
Together we managed to take out the cruiser's fighter escort - until a Liberty Navy patrol unit sent a system wide message. We transmitted our location and joined forces shortly after with the LNS-Lady.of.Leeds of the 46th, a siege cruiser, and her fighter escort. Gamma-6. The remaining Rogue, now outgunned in turn, struggled from here on and attempted to flee - but was successfully stopped in its attempt. The Sprotte lined up and fired her main gun one last time, taking out the enemy.
Kommandant Kertz paid the agreed sum to our contracted auxiliary, which then quickly departed. Keeping an eye on this ship is advised, as we could not properly review whether or not special authorization to use a Valkyrie had been granted in the past.

After ensuring the Lady of Leeds' damage reports turned up mostly harmless, we had but a brief moment until yet another Rogue appeared. Single fighter craft, keeping distance and hiding mostly in the nearby Wrangell Field. Kommandant Kertz decided to hold our position and monitor the access to Hamburg as well as the trade lane, as following the Rogue was out of the question. The Lady of Leeds departed after a while, having to return to their duties.

A rather long conversation between the Rogue and me took place, with near nothing of noteworthy substance being gained. He did mention that Unioners sometimes were spotted in Texas, but that was all. And how useful that statement is, is not for me to decide.
The combat AI from a previos report, a Bounty Hunter, arrived during that. No fight took place, as the Rogue preferred to remain in the Wrangell Field at first. Only after a considerable while he left it, but Kommandant Kertz saw no reason in chasing a single Rogue into what could possibly be an ambush.
Therefore, we continued to hold our position and observe entry to Hamburg and the trade lane nearby. No further attacks took place, until the Rogue grew seemingly impatient.
By attacking the Sprotte with a single mine in the end, the Rogue robbed himself of what little kept him safe - he fled to a nearby trade lane access and outran us.

Herr Großadmiral,

this is Bootsmann Traudel Habermeyer reporting, i was forced to use my commanding officers codes instead of my own.
I humbly ask to excuse potential deceit and or misuse of a superiors clearance, yet i saw myself in no other position to act, considering the potential magnitude of what i have been ordered to relay in combination with my desire to keep potential security leaks to a minimum.

During a scheduled rest period near Planet New Berlin, a Gallic ship approached. It quickly turned around upon being noticed by my current company, the Bounty Hunter combat AI Lock, and myself. I opted to follow and investigate, before i found it, however, i was contacted and given coordinates to meet.
Upon arrival, the Gallic left again. Complaining about my company, Lock.

While i was communicating with the Gallic and attempted to prevent a potential political escalation, Leutnant Jurgen Schmidt passed us in the nearby trade lane and approached. Inquiring about our presence in the Saarfeld. I explained the situation so far, joined my superior and parted ways with Lock for the moment. Leutnant Schmidt and me then headed for another rendezvous point i received, the Cologne system.
There we were able to communicate properly, with only a minor distraction.

The Gallic introduced himself as a commander of the Royalist 27e Regiment, operating under an alias - Rainier Felix. Tasked with a reconnaissance mission in Rheinland, his superior apparently being interested in what he called 'this new Rheinland'. He went on mentioning prior collaborations between Rheinland and Gallia during the Monarchy regime and expressed his desire to know which stance Rheinland takes nowadays towards the remnants of the crown's finest.
Their goal being to 'fix' Gallias broken state, in order to achieve this, aid from Rheinland would be very welcome. Refering, once more, to prior dealings.
According to Rainier Felix, the current government of Gallia has branded them as pirates, scum and similar.
In these trying times, his superior thought of Rheinland.

Leutnant Schmidt kept it neutral for the most part, yet i believe him mentioning Bretonia could have soured first impressions.
I advised him in private for a bit, we agreed on a course of action and acted accordingly.
The full transcript is attached.

I deemed it too risky to use my own codes, as i was most likely seen with the Gallic around New Berlin. As there are few other officers i trust as much as my superior officer and mentor aboard the Sprotte, Kapitänleutnant Kertz, i asked him to assist me. I mentioned no details of my encounter, only that i required a more believable and less unusual rank than my own to establish direct contact with you once more, Großadmiral von Thielau. Without arousing additional suspicion after what transpired earlier, that is.
I am fully aware of being in violation of several breaches of protocol, yet i value my service to Rheinland higher and more important than my own career.
Thus, i naturally submit to any disciplinary measures you see fit.

Subject: Unioner Attack on OSC in Bering, 18.09.829

Guten Abend Officers,

i received a distress signal from Frau Caitlyn Cross, Orbital Spa and Cruise, while off duty on my personal comms line two days ago. She informed me about her ships being under attack by a Unioner gunboat in Bering.
Immediately relaying the information to the Rheinwehr Leitstelle on Planet New Berlin, i joined up with Kapitänleutnant Kertz and the rest of Sprotte's crew. Departing for Bering.
Lock, that is the name of the Bounty Hunter combat AI mentioned in previous reports several times, accompanied us.

We encountered nothing in Bering, up until we almost reached the Texas jump gate. Faint readings of the Leipzig, too far to accurately pinpoint. We scoured the area, Lock managed to get a few more readings. According to him, the Unioner gunboat was too far from any jump holes but still vanished from our scanners. Kommandant Kertz initially ordered us to remain on site, but as i received and relayed new message from Frau Cross, we adjusted. Following them to Hudson, to ensure nothing followed them in turn. Locke, having more nav-data about Bering, knew of a jump hole we could take.

We crossed Hudson without much incidents, keeping our distance to an enemy station. OSC reported no new encounters with hostile elements, therefore we managed to rendezvous with them near Planet New Berlin. One of their vessels, the Reverie, remained moored and had to sort out documents of its passengers. The Red Velvet Club continued, now escorted by Lock and us, to Sigma-15. Delivering their passengers and goods to Freeport 8, where Sommer Urlauber were to be picked up for transit back to Planet New Berlin.
We parted ways at the Sigma-13 jump gate in Frankfurt, after the Red Velvet Club picked up her last passengers on Planet New Berlin and explained her further course to us.
All tours were free of any incidents while escorting OSC.

On our way back to Planet New Berlin, i received a transmission from the RNC-Ostkantone. Inquiring about our patrol. I relayed that to Kommandant Kertz, up until we encountered the Donau cruiser near Mannheim Station. We decided to sweep Bering for a potentially hidden base, unknown jump holes or jamming devices. With a Donau lending us her strength, a longer operation was deemed in order by my commanding officer.
As we reached New Berlin, two Freelancers were stopped for routine cargo scan. They jumped to Frankfurt instead. We followed, while the Ostkantone and Lock made sure both ships don't run again the Sprotte blocked the nearby trade lane. Scans found six criminal pilots in one of their cargo holds.
We escorted them to Battleship Schwerin, were they followed suit and handed over their captured pilots.
They were lectured, informed about potential consequences, if repeated behaviour was noticed, and then let go.

Regrouping on the Ostkantone, we then headed for Bering. Our way through the fatherland was free of any further incidents.
Having visited the last known location where we picked up Leipzig's signal, but finding nothing, Lock suggested we move to where his systems picked up Leipzig's last known long range signal. Somewhere near the Hudson jump hole. Interference there made further investigation difficult, but combined efforts led to results. We encountered a massive structure and fitting power readings - indeed a hidden base. Apparently even mobile to an extent. Their defenses opened fire, fighters were scrambled and we managed to take out some. Tactical withdrawal was in order, so bigger asteroids served as cover during that.
The exact location has, unfortunately, not been documented properly. Interference from anomalies and sustained damage combined rendered the data partially corrupt.

Guten Abend Officers,

as i returned from Omega-11 to Stuttgart, i encountered a lone Unioner pilot near Planet Baden-Baden.
He opened fire after a small exchange of words, managed to get the upper hand and then decided to spare me. Apparently ex-military, i have little doubt about his claims. This may have been an attempt to send a message, or merely a very self-satisfied person.
In any case, a second craft approached the scene - which was attacked by the Unioner as well. It initially wished to support him, but quickly changed its course of action. While retreating to repair my severely damaged Valkyrie, i only managed to conduct a very quick scan of the second vessel. The results were, due to extensive damage to the sensor array, not entirely conclusive.
The Oktoberfest is guarded well, i know this. Still i can't help but wonder what last weeks encounter could mean for this weeks festivities.

Guten Abend Officers,

while patrolling the immediate surroundings of Planet New Berlin and nearby stations, i encountered a single Bismarck - the Andrex. It docked at Oder Shipyard for a while, before engaging jumpdrives not far from the planet itself. The close proximity to a commercial, civilian and military junction such as Sector F5 appeared noteworthy to me. An unwanted malfunction could've had immense repercussions for several key pillars of Rheinland's economy.
If it was an emergency jump to reinforce a far away battle that i was not aware of, view this report as irrelevant.

Guten Abend Officers,

i regret to inform about the loss of one N9 Valkyrie very heavy fighter.
Shortly after beginning my patrol of the New Berlin system, two Hessian ships approached sector F5. They engaged quickly, i was accompanied by Hitman 'Lock' at that time. He aided me and kept one of the Hessians busy, until the RNC-Ostkantone joined the battle. My ship was taken out not long after reinforcements arrived, but fortunately the crew of the Ostkantone managed to tractor my escape pod in. I joined the comms officer aboard and assisted in coordinating with Planet New Berlin. A Freelancer happened to find himself in the firefight as well, Hessian aggressors even attempted to bribe him to fight for their side. He refused and instead joined forces with us. This display of integrity and loyalty was, of course, promptly rewarded.
We managed to call in the KKS-Elbe afterwards, which in turn secured sector F5 together with the Ostkantone. Both vessels remained in close proximity to Rheinland assets and provided cover fire for Lock and the Freelancer, until both chased the Hessians further out.

Guten Abend Officers,

as i returned from sweeping the Nordheide in Hamburg, i spotted two Golden Chrysanthemum transports in New Berlin - sector D4, heading for the Ruhrfeld.
Their destination turned out to be Kreuzberg Depot. They were particularly quick in regards to docking at the station, i suspect to unload any problematic cargo as soon as possible. Sufficient proximity for a proper scan was only established after they had already docked - and the Junkers tend to keep details like these to themselves.
I informed both vessels about the usual procedures with our situation at hand, they were surprisingly forthcoming and complied without any issues.

'Allowing' them to lead the way back to the Sigmas, i made sure to record the way we took and inquired a bit further. Allegedly they were in need of Rheinbier and lacked an OS&C vessel to trade with in Kusari. We met no other ships on our way to a jump hole in sector F3, hidden in the Aachenfeld. From D7 in Frankfurt, we traversed both the Weisser- and Hausenfeld, crossed the trade lane to the Munich jump gate and entered the Taunusfeld, where our ways parted in F2 near a jump hole to Sigma-13.
