I've passed my previous four years as a Merc. I've actually accomplished something around Sirius,
for instance, ending the life of some criminal scum here and there, barely living in a constant state of mediocrity with a relatively mediocre amount of money.

Ain't much to say. Me mom had the decency to dump my corpse in an orphanage in Liberty at the age of 8. All I could do was to teach those backstabbing snakes who was the REAL man in there. I was proven terribly right from the Forlorn lads, who taught me absolutely nuthin'. They're now a sorry, buncha' loosars, all I've done with them was to kill innocent human lives. Speaking of which, I know how to fix 'them shipes,too. I happen tu' know some good tricks for yer Sabres, if ye have any.

"Born a son of miners in what for a Border World colony would be considered a long line of miners, I grew up under the boot-heel of the Royalists much like any other Gallic underclass citizen. After the Council took from and then lost Quillan to the Crown, the citizens there were oppressed far worse than any thing we'd seen previously. Public executions, a hanging or two, raids...all of these things were a part of daily life for us. So, when chance came, my family packed what we could and used our Aurochs freighter to get us to Vichy Base. The Council, before they cleared out, had left coordinates and system locations for this base, since the Royals couldn't reach it and it was to be a staging point for any trying to escape Gallic space. We boarded a pirate transport there and were among a few thousand people who successfully made it to Planet Toulouse, and into a refugee camp. Life in those camps is hard, almost as hard as Quillan was but in a different way. I wanted out, but had no interest in joining the Council. So, instead, I secured passage...okay, stowed away, on a shuttle bound for Barrier Gate, then took the Colonial shuttle out here, to New Hope." - copy of Colonial Military application bio dated 819 AS

I successfully enlisted with the then Colonial Military, in their Tau wing based out of Java Station. I even won a few fights, took down a few Outcast capitals with the help of my wingmates. We met some people, and encountered the beginnings of a much greater mystery and threat. There were good times, and then there were bad times.

The intervening years since 819 have been...difficult. There was an altercation aboard Freeport 10 some four years ago that resulted in my getting shot with a flechette weapon at close range and losing my leg and hip. Most of my remaining earnings went to getting myself mobile again...I was presumed MIA and I'm guessing I was struck from the roster long ago. Were I to go back to Crayter now I would just be changed from MIA to AWOL, and not entirely without reason. It is my hope that I can instead make a difference here, with your group, instead of just defending Tau 44 and Coronado from a brig cell.

Why do you wish to join us?
Spending my time recovering with the Zoners in the deep Taus has taught me that there are much worse things in space than the Gallic Crown. I'm grateful for their help, but they don't have the means or the will to do much more than sometimes defend themselves against Nomad depredation.

The patients physique, while clearly resilient and formed through prior military action, is predominately characterised by recent trauma from serious injuries. Amongst cut wounds of varying severity and mild head trauma, the patient had to undergo amputation of both arms during significant medical complications upon retrieval and no alternative viable according to the dispatched medical personnel during the incident. Following the procedure the patient is still in recovery, her physical condition suboptimal if improving, but measures to prepare the limb stumps for acceptance of advanced cybernetic prosthetics have been taken and it is to be well expected that, upon full physical recovery and mental adjustment to the new circumstances her body will regain full functionality.

Elaine was brought into this world in one of the countless population centers of Planet Leeds – a mess of a world which she would go on to spend most of her days on. Her parents both were working in the manufacturing industry for high-power propulsion modules and thus rarely had the time or funds to make great off-world trips. Thus, in hopes to get in some changes of scenery and collect experiences away from her somewhat bleak home – and perhaps because she was not that big of an engine person - Elaine signed up for the Bretonian Army as soon graduating from school rather than follow somewhere along the footsteps of mother and father. 

These wishes of hers however barely had any time to be fullfilled, for not all too long after completing basic training tensions between her homeland and the house of Kusari came to an unprecedented maximum with both nations entering into war. As the fight shifted closer and closer towards the Leeds system and imperial forces eventually entering it fear of a ground war arose, leading to the activation and relocation of countless regiments – including Elaine's. After reuniting with her home in such an unpleasant way, she spent months and years along with the ground forces preparing for an invasion that would never occur. At least the way anyone expected.

As the Gaulls rolled in and quickly took the place of the Kusarians as aggressors in Leeds the always feared invasion of the Planet was eventually unpreventable. As so many others she participated in the fierce defence of the industrial world, but with the naval forces in the system slowly being pushed back as well and various supply routes being cut off willingly chances of defeating the invaders outright grew ever slimmer. But that did not keep Elaine from fighting these delaying battles for months to come. On the contrary, during the conflict she distinguished herself and, in 821 A.S. joined the Recky forces, going through a somewhat improvised training inside the warzone and then specialising in using her skills and the extensive knowledge about the local area of cityscapes and underground networks to provide field intelligence and be part of pinpoint strikes against high value targets at and behind the frontlines.

Later, around 823 A.S. with an ever more dire growing situation planetside Elaine grabbed one of the few remaining chances to get off Leeds by the neck as she accepted an offer from the Bretonian Intelligence service, who where looking for people familiar with Gallic operating procedures, military experience and knowledge about intelligence and sabotage missions to go on missions around the Taus, brining the war behind the strong Gallic lines once more. Following transportation off planet in a night-and-fog-operation and short additional training, Elaine would be part of these ventures, sometimes working undercover to gather information about the enemy, sometimes as part of guerilla teams on sabotage missions without much „out of the ordinary“ occuring.

Until, eventually, it did not.
Not much could be gathered about the exact circumstances yet, and Elaine has been all but talkative about details relating to her service with the BIS, but as the facts indicate one of her latest deployments must have gone south, and upon the situation escalating her attempts to exfiltrate failed. Close to death and trapped in a badly shot up Templar she was discovered and picked up by an Auxesian search party, taking her in for emergency medical treatment.

Honestly? I don' think I got anywhere else to go. It kind of feels like a part of me died out there, and all things considered, I definetely died legally. Might as well.
