Angel Message Dump - WhiteKnight30303 - 01-02-2011

Wow... what a first day.

I made my character, bought the ship/id, and immediately got a message:
Quote:JunkieSA_Miner: Hi - Is the gold field in Dublin still mineable?
[The_Angels]WhiteKnight: As far as I know, yes.
[The_Angels]WhiteKnight: But I'm not positive.
JunkieSA_Miner: Ok Thanks
[The_Angels]WhiteKnight: No problem
I asked the other Angels and they told me they weren't sure, so I relayed the information to JunkieSA_Miner.

Next, I was contacted about an Outcast shooting other Outcasts in T23.
Quote:Templar2: // hi sir
Templar2: // could i ask something?
[The_Angels]WhiteKnight: // Go for it.
I tried contacting the Outcast in question privately, but she only spoke French, so it was... erm... difficult. I decided to fly out to T23 to sort things out.

When I got there, I found a Zoner gunboat, an IMG battlecruiser, and an Outcast Tridente with an LWB affiliation. There was a massive battle going on between like 5 different factions, and I didn't know where to start. First things first:

* The IMG had fired on an Outcast pirate transport without warning and was grouped with an Outcast. I explained that you can't fire without warning, you can't shoot transports in a cap ship, and you can't group with hostiles. I also had him translate to the Outcast for me.

* The Outcast had been shooting other Outcasts. I explained to him that you cannot shoot other members of your own faction (without a really good reason), you can't attack without warning, and he needed to fix his IFF. Unfortunately, he only spoke French, so I got the IMG battlecruiser to translate, as he spoke both French and English.

* I never saw the Zoner gunboat do anything but sit there, so I didn't have much to say to him.

As it turns out, Joe was one of the ships involved in the battle. He later hopped on his admin ship and flew out to sort things out. After all, there's only so much that one Angel can do. Alley also showed up to help translate to Airi. Joe ended up sending Airi to Bastille so she'd have to sort things out on the forum.

Now that everything is taken care of, I'm headed back to Liberty. I still have to map the rest of the systems!

Angel Message Dump - WhiteKnight30303 - 01-03-2011

In direct contrast to yesterday's fiasco, I had a quiet day today.
-----
The first person that contacted me was asking me to bring him parts from Barrier Gate, which I obviously refused.
-----
The second:

Midnight.Express: // I have an IC ID but the ID IFF isnt showing
[The_Angels]WhiteKnight: // Open your F8 menu and scroll tot he bottom
[The_Angels]WhiteKnight: // Is it flashing green?
Midnight.Express: // nope lol oops
[The_Angels]WhiteKnight: // Have you done any missions for them yet?
[The_Angels]WhiteKnight: // Just buying the ID won't give you the affiliation, you must do missions for the faction as well
Midnight.Express: // notreally im in a Mastodon.... it would be hard and idk wherer to find them
[The_Angels]WhiteKnight: // Try Newark Station in New York
[The_Angels]WhiteKnight: // You could hire and escort to do them for you
[The_Angels]WhiteKnight: // However, with Interspace Commerce, you don't need the IFF, you just need the ID
Midnight.Express: // okay, i gotta finish this route and get off, i can do it tomarrow
-----
The third:

Felyx_Vantera: Hi, I'm a new player and I have a question about ship usage, if you have a moment.
[The_Angels]WhiteKnight: // Sure.
Felyx_Vantera: //I looked at the chart on the forums, but I'm not sure I follow. Tagged as a civilian, am I allowed to use House freighters
Felyx_Vantera: or transports?
[The_Angels]WhiteKnight: // Using a civilian ID, you cannot use large transports.
[The_Angels]WhiteKnight: // Generally if you wish to remain neutral and still use a larger ship, you would get a Freelancer ID.
Felyx_Vantera: // What about House freighters, like the Humpback? Okay.
[The_Angels]WhiteKnight: // The civilian ID is generally only for new players
Felyx_Vantera: //Okay. Thanks for your help.
[The_Angels]WhiteKnight: // Any time.

My Dearest Angels,

By a miraculous and happy coincidence, I was able to get in a little visit Saturday night. I looked around the Planet Erie shipyard and saw the Water Angel parked in the corner. When no one was looking I jumped in and took it for a spin.

I quickly found Alley and Admin Joe. We had a wonderful chat. It truly felt like old times.

It makes my heart warm to see all the new Angels as well as the old hands like Seth, N00b, Ash, Dejavu.....

Maybe someday I'll be back in a more permanent fashion, but life's twists and turns keep me away for the moment.

In the spirit of all things blessed and divine, I wish you the very best.

Although there were a fair amount of people about today in Omicron Alpha, it was very quiet, myself and a few other pilots hanging around Malta helped get a new pilot a Sabre which one of the Outcasts funded for him. this pilot PM'd me later saying 'You have a great server, good job'.

After that there was an issue with another new pilot in Liberty whose ID would not stay mounted, so after helping him fix that problem (Buying a new ship seemed to fix it), I gave him a few million credits as 'compensation' for having to credits on a ship he had already bought, to set him up with a slightly better ship and weaponry to help him along the way. I also let this pilot know about the Discovery Wiki.

Unfortunately that was about the end of my day, and I docked on the ship yard there to have a cold beer and a chat with some locals. It was a pretty good day all in all.

Pull a short shift today - helped a few with ID problems and Mining decisions. Bought a new ship (Camera Ship) to get better view and not to get shut down by demons (idiots with gunships).

My apologies for not flying yesterday, but my internet was down.

Anyways, I had a very slow day today. There was only one issue, with a morph named Marduk being shot down by an Order gunboat without any roleplay. Marduk PM'd me asking how to file a sanction report, so I asked him if he'd talked to the Order pilot yet. I made it quite clear that you should always see if you can remedy the situation yourself before getting the admins involved. He said he hadn't, and since he was a morph, he wasn't sure if he should. I told him I'd talk to the guy for him.

So, I hunted down the player in question in California. He was engaged in a battle with three nomads. Once he was destroyed, I began to speak with him. He told me that he had been hunting nomads all day and chased some into Cali, and had just forgotten to roleplay. I made him realize that it is *never* okay to attack without roleplay, and he agreed to be more careful in the future. He thanked me for the advice.

I advised Marduk not to file a report this time, and only to do so if it happened again. He agreed, thanked me, and logged off.

There was also one other player who PM'd me asking to teleport him to Alpha. I informed him that Angels cannot do that, and he should instead speak with an admin.

Made two shifts the last two days. Few advises relating to the tech chart, and have had a nice conversation about going-to-conneticut.

Awful long shift. Like they would never stop asking. *sigh*
So: First i've been in NY but there was absolutely nothing going on there. But once I went to gamma, the storm began. Questions about tech-chart related problems, a longer "why Outcast dreads should not go to Delta" and stuff like that.

Went to Dublin right after. Had a Merc ID/Freelancer in a Black Dragon sitting next to the BAF Battleship. Had to fix that. Then, a talk to a HMS Cruiser captain about "who you should NOT engage Transports" and a longer mining introduction to a player in Colorado.

All in all i've been online for almost two hours and allthough it wasn't a boring shift, I'm glad there was a moment where they stopped asking so I could log off.

Until we meet again, Sirius!

I had a slow shift at first, until WK|Reiko{W} messaged me asking me why he was hostile to Outcasts. His whole faction was using Blood Dragon ID/IFF, and could dock at Outcast bases once they got neutral. Unfortunately, when he tried, he would be hostile the next time that he undocked. I directed him to the forum and told him to PM an admin.

PROFUGO asked about repping up for Zoners. I directed him to the repping guide on the forum and explained about double bribes.

AF|Torched asked if it was okay to put capital armor on a transport, and I said yes.

A guy named Jack contacted me asking how to file a report on an LN that fired on him without warning. I told him to first PM the person and explain what they did wrong and how they shouldn't do it, and if the guy did it again, to file a sanction report then. I also told him that is the LN didn't respond or simply didn't understand, to just go straight to the admins.

So, in summary, when I first got on, two other angels were also on, so I got few requests for help. As the night progressed, I got several requests all at once. It was a pretty good shift.

[The_Angels]WhiteKnight

Edit: Shift length was about two hours.

Angel Message Dump - WhiteKnight30303 - 01-09-2011

I had a lot of difficulties on my shift today. There was one german guy who swore at a Xeno repeatedly, and I tried to explain to him that it was against the rules and he could be banned. He kept arguing with me that if people would sanction him for that it wasn't right, and I just couldn't get the idea across to him. I tried my best, but some people just don't understand. Penpen even spoke to him (in german) and he still didn't catch on.
That was the highlight of my day, but there were also a few people who still had civvie IDs flying large transports. I talked them into indie trader IDs or freelancer IDs.
There was one starflea who attacked a zoner saying "ENGJABUJING", but as it turns out, he's been playing for years and was just trolling.
Overall a hectic shift, and it was only about an hour.
