Zoner Alliance > Information Rewrite - 821 - Zen_Mechanics - 02-20-2014

1) Introduction: A blurb to detail out who your faction is affiliated with, aims and ambitions in addition to RP background. Who you are and where you are going.

Demonstrating an understanding of the NPC faction that you plan on representing, in addition to explaining how the existence of your faction will enrich the roleplay within the area in which you plan to reside is essential to establishing a credible face for your organization.

Ever since the exodus from Sol and the colonization of Sirius, people and factions have been outcasted, discriminated against, and even expelled from the houses of Sirius. These men and women were strong, hardy people who took it to themselves to flee from the governments of the past. These people were not afraid of the ever expanding universe, not afraid of exploring the unknown, and definitely not afraid of what awaited them, or what came after. These men are and were the Zoners.

The Zoners were never a combined group, just thousands of individuals who fled from the corruption of the House systems. However these men and women slowly came together for protection and co-operation. They combined with like-minded people, people who yearn for freedom and a life with no boundaries. They came together in order to meet their most basic needs as well, as to sustain their new way of life. They came together for protection. These people hated the rule of law imposed on them by the Houses of Sirius and would do anything to keep that oppression from entering their new homes. This was not an easy task.

The Zoners began their new organizations with the realization that they were powerless. They realized that money is power, money is control, money means protection. This led to the creation of the famed Zoner Whale, a machine that would make them rich. The Zoners explored to find new areas, new systems, new wealth. They found opportunities such as the Corsairs with their artifacts and the Iridium in Delta. The Zoners worked together to build networks of freeports in order to trade these new resources with the rest of Sirius, and what did they want in turn? Money. The Zoners used their vast network of trade to create a diplomatic web that they knew would protect them, at least for a little while. They knew that as they became stronger, bigger, wealthier, that people would covet their wealth, covet their unparalleled freedom. The Zoners knew that these same people would mass together, whether because of jealously or for power, and try to take it from them by any means necessary.

The Zoners were then thrust into conflict on that fateful day when Freeport 7 was destroyed by the Nomads, sending all of Sirius into a war for their lives. This was the Zoners awakening. The Zoners began to use their vast sums of wealth accumulated over hundreds of years to build a fleet comparable to the strongest of the houses. Even with the diplomatic web intact, the Zoners knew that a day would come when it would all come crashing down, and they decided to be ready for that day. The Zoners built Livadia shipyard and forged an alliance with the Order. The Order sent their best engineers and technicians, while the Zoners funded there constant war with the nomads. The Zoners did the same with the Corsairs, and eventually ended up with ships such as the Nephilium class Dreadnought and the Aquilon class Carrier. Ships that would inspire awe and fear into any future enemies. The Zoners always had the willing pilots, and now they had the ships, they just needed a leader. They needed their fleet to come together under one banner, they needed to organize their forces like the Houses and all the other great and powerful navies of the day. The Zoners needed admirals, commanders, officers, and in this quest and ultimate need of leadership, the Zoner Alliance was formed.

End of Zoner Lore ) In short.

Outcome )

The Alliance was tasked with bringing all the independent Zoner militias under one banner. These militias were previously hired in order to guard specific Freeports, but these days were soon to be over. Small militias were proving to be no match for organized navies, so they began to flock to the Alliance, whom in turn promised to protect them. Over time the Alliance had a duty to protect all Zoners from anyone who threatened their freedom or independence. The Alliance was sworn to defend the Freeports and all Zoner installations, free of charge.

The Zoner Alliance needed a headquarters. They needed a place away from the political turmoil of the Houses, a place isolated from the world. The High Leadership roamed through the Omicrons, and found Omicron 74, no group had inhabited the system, and no group had claimed this system. In the system was Freeport XV, a minor trade hub on the outskirts of the world, and Liviaia Shipyard, the center of all Zoner Shipbuilding and manufacturing. The shipyard was protected by no one, and the Alliance needed to protect the Zoners most valuable asset. Without this shipyard and all the knowledge contained within it, the Zoners would surely fall to the relentless power grabs from the Houses or the Nomads.

The Zoner Alliance began by building two stations in the system, Zoner Sanctuary and Zoner-Guard-74. These stations formed the headquarters of the Alliance, but more importantly began to manufacture the materials the Alliance would need to build up a fleet capable of defending such a great people. The bases immediately began construction and stockpiling of Cloaking devices and jump drives. Unfortunately for the Alliance, these bases were constantly under attack from Nomad raiders. These raiders attacked transports and halted the supply of materials needed to build the Alliance’s equipment. The Alliance High Command then made the controversial, but necessary, decision to build bases at both jump holes into 74. The Alliance was able to use the unparalleled Zoner trade fleet to quickly build the bases and convert them into floating fortresses. These bases guaranteed the safety of the Alliance’s home world, and guaranteed that Omicron 74 guard system would stay open to all Zoners from every walk of life.

The Alliance, while making good progress on their stations, were facing severe shortages of key materials to build Cloaking Devices. The Alliance was missing Nomad Remains. They had studied these remains for years, and their hired engineers had been able to even use them in manufacturing. The shortage was dire and the Alliance had to refill their stores. The beginning of the Zoner fleet used their first jump drive to jump into the Omicron 99 system, the Nomad attack was fierce, however the advanced ships of the Alliance fleet was able to fend them off and gather the remnants of the ships. The Alliance fleet returned to Omicron 74 and continued to use the remains in their manufacturing.

These fleet maneuvers continued for a year or so, until the Order issued a directive banning all transport of Nomad capital ships and severely limited the Alliances ability to transport fighter remains. The Alliance refused to acknowledge the Orders directive, we believed that the directive was an overstep of their boundaries. The directive was an infringement of the Zoners freedom that we had sworn to protect. We felt obligated to defend that freedom even if it meant facing a powerful, battle tested foe. Our refusal angered the Order, and the first war for Omicron 74 begun.

The Order was far stronger than our meager band of freedom fighters. We did not possess the manpower nor the ships that the order had access to. We were just beginning, whereas the Order had hundreds of years of preparation. The Order began by sending in a massive fleet of everything from Battleships to Fighters and begun the siege of our defense stations, particularly our Communications Station. We fought to draw them out, and try to fight them on even terms. In those fights we fared well, thanks to the fearless Zoner pilots who were prepared for anything. The pilots of the Alliance proved themselves during those missions, they proved that they were willing to go up against insurmountable odds in order to protect our freedom, our honor.

The Order, while being strong, was not powerful enough to defeat our stations. Our years of work was paying off and every day our morale grew, while the Order pilots saw the pointlessness of the siege. The bases were refusing to fall. The ever loyal Zoner pilots risked their lives to supply the stations at every chance they got, and we continue to this day to honor, pray for, and remember all of the lives that were lost in the conflict, Zoner and Order. Eventually, after months of relentless siege, a peace treaty was made. There were no conditions to the peace other than the alliance obey the Order’s directive. This put a damper on our research and manufacturing but we were able to continue nonetheless.

This peace was unfortunately short lived. Soon the Artificial Intelligence of Planet Gammu woke from their deep sleep and created the AI Consensus. At first, these AI’s were friendly to the Alliance and even traded together. One such mission together was when the Consensus and the Alliance used an Alliance Jumpship in order to haul massive amounts of resources to both groups stations. This cooperation was also short lived. The AI Consensus began to show hostility and eventually declared open war. The war was mostly fought on our soil, Omicron 74. The Consensus deployed more forces than the Alliance, however we utilized our defensive platforms to our advantage and successfully held off their advances.

Just when the war was stabilizing, the Solar Runners declared their support for the AI’s. This group was previously unknown to us, however was able to wield a large fleet, and with the assistance of the AI, continued to siege our stations. The stations refused to budge however, thanks to the brave Zoner captains who risked their lives to break through the lines and supply the stations. The war then even turned worse when the Order reentered the fray and sent their fleet back to Omicron 74.

Now the Alliance was outnumbered by more than 5 to 1. Fleet to fleet battles were hopeless, therefore the Alliance refused to engage the combined forces of their enemies. The Alliance resorted to utilizing every possible moment to resupply the stations and sit back and watch the pointless efforts of the attackers. These attacks did not even break through the shields, not even making a scratch on the base. Slowly the attacking forces dwindled and left our home as they realized that our morale is unwavering, our bases resilient, and our existence is inevitable.

Hello, Order was calling.

RE: Zoner Alliance > Information Rewrite - 821 - Tyler - 02-20-2014

I wanted to go all lorewhore on your (probably bronzed) bottoms, but nah. You are one of those people who have their mind set to something that doesn't work, won't work and will never work 100%.

You got it wrong. Stop powergaming, for the love of the gods. Honestly. Give up. It's not going to happen.

RE: Zoner Alliance > Information Rewrite - 821 - LunaticOnTheGrass - 02-20-2014

It's like a motley bunch of space-nomads being united under the banner of Marshal Kim Jong-un.

RE: Zoner Alliance > Information Rewrite - 821 - Lythrilux - 02-20-2014

The faction is doomed to fail. There's loads of stigmas, memes, stereotypes and jokes about the ZA. Sure, you mightget members, but I honestly don't think people are very going to take this faction seriously ever again, or any similar faction that comes after it.

RE: Zoner Alliance > Information Rewrite - 821 - Savas - 02-20-2014

...This...continues to violate Zoner lore in every respect and should not be a thing.

RE: Zoner Alliance > Information Rewrite - 821 - Solar Runner Council Command - 02-20-2014

We're going to be blunt Tel, No, just no, not happening.

You were given the chance to revive yourselves of all the things you have done

You can try to stop the bases of yours from dying, go ahead, but right now, your faction is no longer Zoner.

We're more willing to call this faction an terrorist one now, not a zoner one, because ZA don't follow Zoner ways, they never have and never will.

~that is all

RE: Zoner Alliance > Information Rewrite - 821 - Kazinsal - 02-20-2014

Noooooope.

I honestly can't think of anything else to say that hasn't been covered by the people above me. All I see is rampant destruction of all zoner lore, powergaming, metagaming, and a rehash of the same junk from before.

Please take "Zoner" out of the faction name before you make an even bigger mockery of yourself and propel the zonerzonerzoner meme to new heights.

Kinda what the others said, but to be more specific, the whole concept fails here:

You try to display Zoners as victims to give them a reason to arm themselves this much while it can't be further from the real truth.

Nobody gave a frack about Zoners when FP7 got blown up, all the major forces were occupied with their own conflicts (internal or with eachother; fueled by nomads of course) and the minor ones with the majors, and when they realized it was the nomads all along, they concentrated on them. Freeport 7 got blown up not to piss of Zoners, but because of that tinker toy ending up in the hands of Edison Trent towards the end of Vanilla campaign. If anyone would want to eradicate all Zoners since 800 AS, there would be no Zoners by now.

No, just no.

Please define a 'Zoner Militia', and what incentive the Zoners you InRp enticed had for joining the ZA.

Tel Aviv Wrote:our existence is inevitable.

This is fine, I have no issue with you attempting to advance your interpretation of the Zoner way; just be advised without any curbs on your current role-play demeanour (zoner freedom should be attained without concessions to anybody else, other Zoners included), the kriegfleets are just going to reform. Trust me, we never fired any of this up out of personal animosity, just as a consequence of a series of InRp infractions and red-button pressing.

If I were you, I'd de-mount that Zoner ID and attach a pirate ID. It'll give you more byway to fulfil your present objectives.
