Basically the topic title. I'm not talking about people reusing basic names like Stephen or Firefly, but more unique names like Alternating.Sunrise or Subjective.Taboo or whatever.

Speaking of; anyone who is not part of a Rogue faction and uses any of those names listed there, will be brandmarked as name thief and will be put KOS.
Generally speaking, I doubt that people are intentionally reusing old ship names of which they are aware of.

This is true - I literally made a pirate chara and picked a chara name - to find that a player had literally just quit a faction and had used that chara name before he joined. Of course I got about 4 different players asking me why I quit the faction when it was a different player. I ended up renaming so the other player could use the name again.
