I agree with this. Don't remove the Barges themselves, just remove their ability to jump (I read somewhere that there is a plugin for that already in existence), and increase the cruise speed and impulse speed to a reasonable/playable level. Barge runs will still take time and have a considerable risk of losing a lot of cargo and money, but it will increase interaction (need of escorts), and will give Barges a reasonable use.

Other option might be to create an intermediate solution: 15-30k large megatransports with lower than average cruise speed (and maybe impulse speed).

Look I will go simple, if this is serious then removing barge isn't a good Idea and jump trading with barge isn't good as well, As far as I know Barge was made as a Mobile Station use to operate in Deep space, I like that Rp and barge have great RP behind it but people started using it as a Trading ship and started jump trading with barge , I think you can remove Barge jump trading instead removing barge because I think Barge has Great Rp as being a Mobile station

If Barge removal is good for gameplay, remove it.

I can live without the 3 of them. They suck anyway. Big time. Worst, most useless ship in the game.

They are not made for trading, they are mobile bases and as mobile base barge is good, barge suck for those who trade with it, actually it isn't for trading, if I am wrong please correct me

Dont remove barges or the ability for them to jump, remove the people exploiting game mechanics or serving up large doses of poor RP skills :p Its the individual players' faults, not the jump trading process.

Make it so that if a Barge jumps, it automatically explodes and would kill any ship within 1k distance.
