Funny, so your telling us the only reason you jump trade is to give new players stuff who perhaps have no idea what the rules of the server itself is or just give stuff away for no actual reason then their new? Join the Angels then and leave this thread alone honestly if your going to keep helping the new players.

And no, that's a lie, making huge jump convoys is not 'hard'. What, forming up to the jump ship, setting cords and then jumping is hard? Most of the time, all you need to do, is fly somewhere secure and do it from there. I've done it before with IC who have jumped 3 barges at once. Think thats not enough? Do what IC used to do then, escort a barge through the Tau's. We've all done this before JD's existed and I'm sure its still possible. Huge escort's required but the fun comes from being able to generate activity and such for both sides. And I'm going to spoil you now for this. Jump Trading is NOT fun. Its easy to do, and easy to finish, I don't understand how you would find fun in jump trading unless you did something inRP for it

I'll give a few people credit. Congress did it and got a ton of people to log to find them and stop them, they still got a huge amount of RP for it (And salt, ya I know)

IC does it with DSE, USI and all them and they jump 2-3 barges at a time and cruise 220- k distance to sell ore and then jump out, they ask LN, LPI, BAF, BPA and all them to escort them, while it sounds boring, escorting 3 barges while RPing for an hour and a half (Thank you barge cruise speed) is something worth noting when you finish it.

I'll give people befit of the dought, yes, Jump trading is stupid but say if it was an emergency, for mass convoying or something big? Then ya, I'll let it slide. There are things that some people don't see part of the bigger picture. I for one would not fly a barge half way around the entire server map when I can just jump it between locations. I'll use Congress for the next example. They have 5 bases in PR and still are building more. I can see Jump trading as a necessary evil for them to get the cargo there by bulk to keep their stations alive.

But say for like combat fleets and such, sometimes jumping a fleet under the enemy nose is much more easier then coming in by JH's/JG's, as most people can set up ambushes and wait it out till the enemy jumps. While jumping via JD will let the enemy get in and set up before engaging.

I'm not for or against Jump drives before people start pointing fingers, I see them as a necessary evil to discovery, their not worthless yet at the same time, the mere mention of their name is like mentioning the father of all Lies has returned to earth via Jumping. That's my 2 cents

oh man
they're all going to feel so bad in a few weeks for selling it

Yeah and I've been trying to get them for some time now but noone is selling them...and the ones that do , don't respond

Just get rid of Jumpdrives, they're useless anyways and they're being made more useless.

RE: Jumpdrives - Alestone - 04-01-2015

Absolutely hilarious! Argue about jump drives causing a lack of interaction, but I flew a Liberty Freelancer in a Gallic Civilian ship from New London to Berry, cruised around Gallia for almost 2 hours, then flew back to New York, and had NO "interaction" with a server population between 75 and 100.

I went through Bretonia, the Taus, the Gallic Borderworlds and Liberty and couldn't get noticed in spite of intentionally using trade lanes and flying past Planets Manhattan and New London. Bloody shame I was LOOKING for RP and not trying to smuggle in a 5k Transport.

Your first mistake was going through Gallia and Bretonia

The Gallic War has ravaged the both of them in more than the RP sense.

Somehow I really doubt that. Exaggeration much.

RE: Jumpdrives - Alestone - 04-01-2015

My only proof would be my personal DSAce logs, and I know that those are not given credence.

If I were exaggerating, I would have included Gallia proper and the northern Omicrons.

I started at 1527 local, ended at 1818 and I am at -5 UTC. The only hiccup in the whole thing was a client crash right after a jump transition and I logged back in as soon as the ship timed out.

>lazy grin< As to the accusation of lying, well, if you feel that strongly about it, you could always ask the Admins to check their logs...

RE: Jumpdrives - Redon - 04-01-2015

it's "affect"

Fixed~Garrett Jax

RE: Jumpdrives - Sabru - 04-01-2015

the first "affect" should be "effect". the second "affect" is right.

I give up~Garrett Jax
