Big "no" against forced Pirate IFF. - Fluffyball - 05-30-2015

As a Pirate ID user, I'm stricly against forced Pirate IFF.

No glued IFF is the only thing that makes Pirate ID equal to the all other pirate IDs. You want to make Pirate IFF forced? Sure, but then return the old lines to its place as they were, instead of making even more and more nerf for indie pirates.

Reasons behind objection Pirate ID having forced IFF:

- Pirate ID is underpowered, since most of bigger pirate groups have access to bigger and better stuff already.

- Pirate ID is in fact for being unaffiliated group of pirates. However, they can protect same IFF guys, according to their line (so they can protect anyone with e.g. Freelancer IFF).

- Being a hidden pirate (with FL IFF) is a great alternative to be flashing Outcast or Rogue IFF all around. It's healthier for small part-time job pirates and smugglers. (Upon scanning, truth comes out).

- Connected with previous point, it gives a new whole level for plotting and putting ambushes in space in independent systems, as prey is not aware about true nature. If they don't scan the ship to learn about true colors, the only ones to blame is themseleves.

- Current pirate ID is already pretty nerfed and underpowered, with no access to Z (Molly/Rogue) line or some other lines, with very limited ruleset regarding piracy.

- Indie Pirates, as well as indie miners and remaining Freelancers are... Freelancers.

Making a thread based on assumptions over a simple PM answer is going to cause more problems than anything. We are not done discussing what we're going to do, so wait for a vote thread.
