X Files - Banza - 10-29-2008 Stories from beyond Introduction lines - Dana Scully Dana Scully was born on February 23, 795 AD, to Margaret and William Scully, into a close-knit Catholic family. She has an older brother, William Jr., an older sister, Melissa, and a younger brother, Charles. Scully's father was a Captain in the Liberty Navy, who died of a heart attack in 800 AD. Dana Scully grew up in Annapolis, Los Angeles and later in California Minor, California. As a young girl, Scully's favorite book was Moby-Dick and she came to nickname her father "Ahab" from the book, and in return, he called her "Starbuck", due to this she named her dog Queequeg. Scully almost always wears a golden cross necklace, given to her by her mother on her 15th birthday. Dana Scully attended University of Maryland, and earned a B.S. in Physics. Her undergraduate thesis was titled "Einstein's Twin Paradox: A New Interpretation." It is now also understood that she earned her degree in Medicine from Stanford University, a fact that was previously unknown and came to light in a recent interview with show co-writer, Frank Spotnitz. While lasting medical school, she was recruited by the Liberty Security Force, which she accepted, mostly because she felt she could distinguish herself there. Upon being partnered with Fox Mulder, she maintained her medical skills by acting as a forensic pathologist, often performing or consulting on autopsies of victims on X-Files cases. X Files - Tic - 10-30-2008 Special Agent Fox William Mulder, nicknamed "Spooky" Mulder, was born to Bill Mulder and Teena Mulder (maiden name Kuipers) on October 13, 789 AD, presumably in New York system. His first words, at 11 months, were "JFK", and he grew up on planet Manhattan. The Mulder family had a summer house in Quonochontaug, RI, where Fox and Samantha would play during summer vacations. He had an active childhood, full of neighborhood baseball games, and tree climbing - where he once came face to face with a praying mantis, an incident which terrified him and fostered an intense dislike for insects. He also developed an all-consuming fear of fire when his friend's house burned to the ground and they had to stay in the rubble all night to ward off looters. He had nightmares for years regarding that incident, but overcame his fear eventualy. Mulder enjoyed science fiction in his early years, dressing as Mr. Spock from Star Trek in childhood, and watching The Magician. In his teenage years, Mulder was also very excited about space. Although he says he never wanted to be an astronaut, he was delighted to meet an ex-astronaut during one of his investigations and admitted that watching a shuttle launch fulfilled one of his boyhood dreams. On November 27, 795 AD, Samantha disappeared mysteriously from their home on Manhattan, an event which had a severe impact on the Mulder family, especially Fox. The subsequent investigation into her disappearance turned up no evidence. Soon after, Mulder's parents divorced. In May 806 AD, Mulder was sprayed with ergotamine-histamine, an experimental gas that causes anxiety and paranoia. Mulder first talked about aliens and conspiracies, although his previous interest in such things was not as active. The following month, Mulder underwent regressive hypnosis in attempt to remember what happened when Samantha disappeared. After that, Mulder began displaying a fanatical interest in the paranormal. Mulder continued to work in the Violent Crimes department, pursuing his paranormal interests in his spare time. In 808, he learned a great deal about the X-Files from former FBI agent Arthur Dales ("Travelers"). In late 810, Mulder "discovered" the X-Files, and re-opened them with Agent Diana Fowley. Agent Fowley transferred away shortly thereafter, leaving Mulder the only agent to work on the X-Files. A few months later, in March 811, Dana Scully was assigned to the X-Files as a partner to Mulder, with the assignment to use her background in hard science to apply scientific reasoning and expertise to evaluating Mulder's work with the X-Files.
