~An introduction~

December 4th, 821 A.S. Yokohama Shipyard

The third "Komainu"-class battlecruiser of the Kusari Naval Forces is leaving the "dry-docks". A skeleton crew of only 50 men is on board. The ship will be undergoing tests for the next 3 months, under the direct supervision of an engineer team that also built it. Representatives from both Samura and Kishiro are part of the crew. The captain is a young naval officer that received his first command. Yokohama suggested a full test of the weapons systems in Nagano.


December 6th, 821 A.S. Rishiri system, grid E-5
The ship receives its first assignment. A number of Golden Chrysanthemum fighters has been discovered. Weapon tests are beginning. A fighter wing is assisting the battlecruiser but they only engage to keep the Chrysanthemums from running away. Automatic turrets are calibrated during this mission. Hit ratio raises with 8%, reaching 69%. The results are satisfactory for a ship armed with anti-capital ships weaponry.


December 8th, 821 A.S. Nagano system, grid C-6
Electronic warfare is being tested when a "Togo"-class battleship appears and attempts to engage. With their sensors scrambled, the enemy has to rely on manual targeting systems which are outdated on old battleships such as the "Togo"-class. The battlecruiser uses it's speed and maneuverability to keep its distance from the heavier unit while dealing damage from long range with its powerful turrets. The ship sustained minor damage and one member of the crew suffered a concussion, slipping on wet floor when he rushed to announce the successful destruction of the enemy.


December 21st, 821 A.S. New Tokyo system, Planet New Tokyo orbit
The newly comissioned battlecruiser is christened "Takao" by the wife of the newly elected president of The Kusari Republic. During the same day, Takao receives the rest of its crew. The supervising team leaves the ship. One hundred active crew members and a squad of thirty marines will call this ship "home" for long periods of time.


January 1st, 822 A.S. Honshu system, Yukawa Shipyard
The new assignment of KDS-Takao is called "Protection of Kusari assets in the Honshu system". Weekly patrol cycles were completed by the ship. Daily scout patrols were done by the scout ship on board.


August 08th, 822 A.S. Honshu system, Yukawa Shipyard
KDS-Takao departs to New Tokyo where the crew will receive an extended leave before their new assignment. The captain is invited to a dinner party held by the Admirality board.


August 29th, 822 A.S. New Tokyo system, Yokohama Shipyard
The crew mourns the death of one of their members. Ensign Sato Minamimoto and his family were found dead in their house. A KSP investigation is underway. Apart from engineer Minamimoto, the entire crew returned from their leave. The new orders are to attend to the "New Tokyo War Games", a series of simulations meant to train the KNF officers to fight against the Imperial Navy. New tactics are to be put to the test. Captain's creativity is encouraged as long as it doesn't cause damage to the crew or the Naval Forces assets.

KDS-Takao encountered an alien entity and a hostile Order capital ship. The size of the alien ship is bigger than anything known to date. It resembles the Nomad "Marduk" but behaves very different. The captain decides not to engage the two ships. Important information is gathered.

Official report of the captain:
The Takao was scheduled for a routine inspection on Yokohama. On our way we encountered an alien entity (Ish'tar) and an Order capital vessel (Order|CV-Sanity). The alien ship was different from any known Nomad forms. Bigger and... different. Our systems gathered some data but I don't think we can rely on it. Primary fleet destroyer Okinoshima also arrived at the location. We decided to observe. The Order was communicating with the alien. All I could gather was that this specific individual was some sort of Overseer and not exactly a Nomad... something else.

Unnecessary to say that the presence of the huge alien, order and two KNF warships in proximity of Narita attracted attention. However, we didn't expect an Outcast Battleship (72nd|MNS-Aurora). We convinced the captain of said vessel to leave Kusari. Okinoshima escorted the foreign warship. Takao remained to observe the situation. That's when another hostile capital vessel appeared. a Dragon Cruiser (Saito.Dosan). Fearing that the Order ship will team up with the new arrival, I decided to not engage and continued to observe the situation.

After a while, Liberty Security Forces arrived. Both the alien and the Order used cloaking technology and vanished. The LSF wing was escorted by members of KSP and Naval Forces to New Tokyo for questioning. You will have to get data about that from other sources because Takao remained where the alien was seen. Readings were still showing anomalies in the area. And they were right. The alien ship re-emerged. This time it contacted us, directly, on secure channels. Unknown protocols. There are no data in the ship's computer about that so you'll have to take my word for it.

Using NeuralNet commercials or movie scenes, the alien was communicating with me. It warned us about the LSF as they are very dangerous and... cheered about us detaining them. Then it... erm... explained the encounters it had with LSF, all times ending in a firefight. It said they wanted something from it but I couldn't understand what.

The alien vanished as it appeared and I was able to return to my duty. The Dragon cruiser suspected us of being infected by the entity. I assured him we're fine and asked him to leave and he did just that. However, several other Dragon fighters, Chrysanthemums and even an Outcast Gunship arrived on the scene. They continued accusing my crew of alien infection and even demanded we commit sepuku. Luckly, our side was also reinforced.

I would like to note the presence of another unknown vessel (Kate.Miller) that showed a very friendly attitude towards us, when she learned we had contact with the said entity. A battle started and we emerged victorious. Then we headed to Yokohama and here we are.

Following the recommendations of Primary Fleet officers, Takao enters lockdown at Yokohama Shipyard. Kempeitai and Tokkeitai representatives are expected to arrive.

January 30th, 823 A.S. New Tokyo system, Yokohama Shipyard
Agents Kuma and Kiyohime representing Kempeitai and respectively Tokkeitai have come to interrogate the officers. Prior to this encounter, Captain Kim Sung Park downloaded a portion of the secondary database to a datapad and then deleted the contents from the ship's system. The datapad was given to a certain ensign with a set of instructions. He should be transmitting everything on that pad to a certain Kate Miller once communications are restored.

The crew has, again, been tested for Nomad infection while the officers were interrogated on the bridge. The civilian rescued several days ago gave birth to a healthy boy. At some point, the interrogation has gone totally wrong. Gun fights between marines started on board the Takao. The bridge remained in lockdown. Portions of the interrogatory have been broadcasted through the entire ship. The Tokkeitai agent showed very little respect to the life of the crew members.

Captain Kim Sung Park has been taken prisoner by the Tokkeitai agent. Engineering officer Kaito Sinawa is injured in the medical bay. Three marines from Takao's security unit lost their lives in the fight. Ten marines from Yokohama security have been released after the crisis. Another five Yokohama marines lost their lives in the gunfight. The civilian and her newborn were secured in stasis chambers and moved to Yokohama. Takao remains in lockdown at Yokohama Shipyard. Nito Kaisa (Commander) Yasuji Hata, previously 2nd in command has assumed the commanding position.

Low importance data: A transmission has been sent to Kate Miller as soon as ship's comms have been restored.

February 01st, 823 A.S. New Tokyo system, Yokohama Shipyard
Under a new leader, the crew is preparing for departure. Tokkeitai announced that the lockdown has been lifted and the crew is out of quarantine. Agent 'Sankai' has been dispatched on the ship as supervisor. Crew rest time has been canceled for a period of three months.

Engineering officer Nito Kaii Kaito Yamazaki has also been detained by Tokkeitai, leaving the engineering position open. Former medical officer Santo Kaisa Yui Kadena occupies the first officer position now. Position of medical officer is open. The officers corps is completed by Itto Kaii Sota Asano (navigation), Itto Kaii Natsumi Goto (communications) and Nito Kaii Teresa Teng (marines).

KDS-Takao will resume its tasks in the core worlds of Kusari.

Following a KSP report on a illegal base, Takao relocated from the Hokkaido system and proceeded to investigate and plan the removal of said base. A gunboat belonging to the Hogosha group known as Sigma Wing was already on scene. Tactical assessment found that the base had absolutely no defenses. Takao opened fire and removed the station minutes later. The Medium Blue Green of Kusari claimed the remaining debris.

The presence of Tokkeitai agent 'Sankai' and the interdiction of rest time, keeps the crew under pressure. However, there has been no sign of misconduct from anyone, including the officers. Takao is heading to Yokohama where it should receive new personnel and possible new officers for the open positions.
