Buenos dias senorita LeBlanc,

It's me, Hector of the Corsairs.
Gallia has never been more closer to the Corsair Empire. Caramba, senorita LeBlanc, we are "almost" neighbors.
That cognition haunts me day by day, and brings disturbance that not even our glorious Rum can't fix.
Senora Lucie, I have a nice maisonette on Crete with a breath-taking surroundings, It would please me if you can stop by so we can discuss without disruption how to make that "almost" disappear forever.

Hasta la próxima vez,

Bonjour, Monsieur Beltran,

Your coarse method of address aside, the Royal Navy has been considering establishing formal relations with the Corsair state for a number of years now, as I am sure you should know of. Other than a brief diplomatic foray in Edinburgh more than a year ago, however, there has been little contact from your corner of the sector.

I am pleased to see that this stance is becoming more relaxed. The Kingdom of Gallia and the Corsair state have many shared enemies, and little overlap in either avenues of expansion or spheres of influence. I can see no reason why this should not translate perfectly into a relationship of mutual benefit and cooperation, since it is my understanding that we have much to offer one another and little scope for friction or conflict to arise.

I will not be coming to your 'maisonette', as it were, at this early juncture. That said, both the Crown and myself are interested in establishing formal relations, and it is my proposal that a formal delegation should arrive into the vicinity of Crete soon, under the command of myself as the Royal Navy's representative. I trust this will be found as an acceptable - and decidedly more formal - alternative to your proposal.

Previous summits of this nature have gone very well, even if they were more limited in scope. It is my hope that this should be the greatest and most final of them all, such that it will cement a lasting, beneficial relationship between our two peoples that will stand the test of time.

Apreciada señora LeBlanc, Grande Maréchale,

My name is Chino Ernesto Chavez, and I was assigned to handle the diplomatic communications after the Council in the person of Elder Hector Beltran approached you. Regrettably, Elder Hector Beltran is unable to answer your communication at the moment, but he has given me the authorisation to answer. Therefore it is a pleasure for the Consejo de Asuntos Exteriores to hear from the Gallic Royal Navy in such a timely manner to plan the next steps.

I would like to propose a roadmap for the process of establishing of formal diplomatic relations. Knowing that Gallic space and Corsair claims only overlap inside Bretonia, and taking into account flight times and security concerns, we would suggest a meeting between Corsair and Gallic Royal Navy forces in Omega 49, and from there on our forces can escort your delegation to Omicron Gamma, Crete.

Furthermore, we can offer the deployment of Corsair forward patrols into Dublin and Edinburgh to make sure that the diplomatic group is not challenged by the Bretonian Armed Forces on their way through contested space.

The ships should be equipped for a long distance journey because it is still a long way across many Omicrons before your delegation will arrive on Crete. The provision of additional fuel is difficult in the Omicrons, therefore I would advise planning accordingly.

As a proposal, the Nacion's delegation consists of four diplomats of the Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, and four representatives of the Consejo de Comercio, as the Council of Elders has recognized that with every new alliance new opportunities emerge. Therefore, I would like to ask for your delegation to encompass the sector of trade and economy, so that both topics can be discussed in the meeting.

Me complace la idea de trabajar juntos, me, the Consejo and the Council of Elders are looking forward to our cooperation.

Respetuosamente,

Chino Ernesto Chavez

Monsieur Chavez,

The route you have outlined, though rough, should prove acceptable. Gallic starcharts beyond the near Omegas are rudimentary at best, and we will appreciate any guidance that the Empire of Crete can render our delegation. Rest assured, however, that we are well aware of the distances involved, and have prepared our convoy accordingly.

A rendezvous at some predetermined coordinate within Omega-49 seems more than adequate. However, do not feel it necessary to have your forces provide forward reconnaissance into Bretonia proper; we are more than capable of securing our own approach to the rendezvous point.

Naturally, our delegation will prove more than capable of negotiating on all aspects of our nascent cooperation; more than a few members present will have the authority, clout, and capacity to negotiate a workable agreement in any manner ranging from military to economic or trade focused matters. I find it hard to imagine that we will run into any issues regarding a limitation on our ability to discuss any and all relevant sectors of interest.

Apreciada señora LeBlanc, Grande Maréchale,

Gracias for your fast answer that makes all further planning task appear like routine. On behalf of the Council I suggest a speedy meeting, and the earliest date that is realistic could be as early as this Saturday. If such short notice does not cause problems, the Empire would have a fighter wing ready in Omega 49 in the direct vicinity of the Dublin jumphole.

After a recent surge of hostility between our Empire and the desperate Red Hessian and Coalition movement in the Omegas that the flight will have to cross, I am also to stress again the necessity of armor, especially for transport vessels.

We are looking forward to meeting the Gallic Royal Navy representatives.

Respetuosamente,

Chino Ernesto Chavez
