Discovery Dwarf Fortress Let'splay: Ep3 - Delving Deeper - sindroms - 04-19-2016

Well hello there.
So before the forum rollback, some of you might remember our last attempt to settle the great planes of the wild via our force of Discovery Dwarfs - named after our discovery members. I think it is time to do so again and this time perhaps the thread will not get swallowed by the void.

LETSPLAY RULES AND MECHANICS


We start our embark with seven lucky dwarves, named after the first people on the list. The way the game works is that every season a new migrant wave will arrive and those dwarves will be renamed by the next people on the list. If a dwarf dies, the player's name is added at the bottom of the list and will ''respawn'' once their turn comes.

Players can ask to be assigned to specific duties and talents at any given time. Remember, apart from jobs at the fortress, we will also need to build up a good bunch of axe-guys to defend our fortress from nasties, so do not worry if your dwarf ends up with a useless or unused trait.

The more people we will have, the harder the game itself will become with attacks being larger at higher populations.

Oh, man. I used to read these all the time over on Bay12.

From messing around with the latest version myself, it looks like migrant waves are often trouble now, particularly if you catch an early strange mood. I hope you're prepared for 30+ dwarves streaming in out of the blue all in one day.

Sign me up as a militia member or something when you have enough pop.
