Life for Faith was standard for any Kusari citizen born in one of the hundreds of corporate sectors on Planet New Tokyo. She received standard grades in her schooling and lived a healthy youth while enjoying average creature comforts known to white collar families. All was well up untill the age of 15 when she got involved in riots against the Kusari Government's decision to heavily increase public security surveilance with the onset of the war with Bretonia. Both her parents were killed during the riots and she was sent to live with her aunt. Seeing not much worth in her life as it was, she ran away from home and lived on the streets, making ends-meat through common thievery. It wasn't long untill her new lifestyle landed her into trouble when she fell into the arms of a Hogosha arms dealer during a routine break-and-enter. At first she resisted capture and tried to fight him, but he quickly overpowered her in his martial prowess. The dealer looked upon Faith with pity and decided to offer her permanent residence and occupation with the Hogosha. He also saw something different about Faith... she seemed to lack any fear of risking her own life to get where she wanted to go. She was trainable too. It wasn't long before he had Faith doing courier runs of illegal goods and sensitive materials through the black-market underground of Planet New Tokyo. Little did Faith know, these runs he had her on were actually training for something much bigger and beyond the skies of Planet New Tokyo. At the age of 17, Faith was invited by the arms dealer to come visit his real home, Kabukchiko Depot. She had never ever dreamed of going into space and was delighted at the idea. Upon reaching orbit in his CSV, they were ambushed by bounty hunters seeking revenge for a past arms deal gone sour. The arms dealer was fatally wounded and his ship scuttled, leaving Faith with no choice but to flee in the ship's only escape pod. For three months she drifted in suspended animation through New Tokyo space untill a Hogosha patrol discovered her and brought her safely to Kabukchiko Depot. They already knew of her and had already made accommodation arrangements for her by the arms dealer's request three months prior. After she settled in, they began training her through a flight-combat simulator to prepare for becoming a Hogosha "Runner". More than a smuggler, a "Runner" as the Hogosha see it, is an operative tasked with crucial missions requiring the most adept, swift, and cunning of pilots, to make extremely high-risk runs across Sirius for the better cause of Kusari, and they say one must be born as a "Runner" to become one. Faith was last known to be acquiring a shipment of light arms upon Planet New Tokyo, to run to Corsair buyers in the Edgeworlds in exchange for Artefacts.
