Event Type: Cargo Event / PVP Event
Main IDs impacted: KNF, KuExiles, KPT | GRN | BAF, BPA
Potential IDs impacted: Lawful Corporations, Freelancers, Outcasts, Junkers, Kusari Unlawfuls, Bretonia Unlawfuls, Gallic Unlawfuls, IMG, Zoners, LN/LNS(Leeds)

Description of the Event

Where there is war, there are always ways to make a profit off it. The usual goods ferried between the involved houses are now a rarity and luxury item, usually in high demand and with a high price for those who are willing to pay for them.

From exotic foods, technologies, weapon and ship parts and ammo to even more odder things - the demand is always high.

A black market has emerged ever since the events of the Gallic-Kusarian-Bretonia war in the Taus, as trade regulations have become more severe. Freelancers are usually the main culprits of this, but there are always also a few belonging to the house corporations, who also would risk their reputation for major profit.

It is not just the houses that are interested in the illegal goods that are being ferried between them though - Freeports are a popular in-between to allow selling of goods by those, who think that the danger was too much. Luckily for them, the Zoners are still quite interested in this cargo and will gladly take it off their hands, ill gotten or no.

Purpose of event

The Tridente Blockade is a proof of concept that the best events that appeal both to players wanting profit boosts as well as PVP is created with setting stage for the former and allowing the later happen as a natural turn of events. This setup will, unlike GRN-LN events allow for more indirect participants. For the sake of comparison, the Delegate-Refugee run which I submitted earlier allowed for a huge boost in trader activity, piracy, LPI and RFP as well as many players switching to Orbital Spa And Cruise liners, giving activity to an unused ID and, of course, lawful players as well. The Tridente Blockade will further evolve the concept by granting access to a threeway smuggling/blockade run and involving all of the participants in the area.

*Note: The prices and bases in the writeup are a draft and should be adjusted with activity in mind.
*Note2: The profit margin for these events is intended to be high enough to motivate players to participate, and should be balanced via event length - 1-2 weeks should be more than enough in order not to take away from activity of trading/mining IDs unable to participate.

The money players will make to create these ships and IDs will act as a moneysink.

Event Map

ZONE 1

This zone is the first event - reserved for the GRN, KNF/KusEx/BAF/LN(?) IDs exclusively.
This where you can add kill cash and the scoreboard to make PVPers eager to participate.

ZONE 2

This is the bread and butter of the event. The commodities are being ferried between New London and New Tokyo with a few additional sellpoints for unlawful and lawful players for stolen/confiscated goods.

New London - Tokyo
“Contraband Bretonian Goods” - These goods are going to be:

Bought and Sold by Planet New London for 5 000 credits.
Bought by Freeport 6 and Freeport 10 for 6, 500 credits. (1,5k Profit)
Bought by Planet New Paris for 25 000 credits. (Clean profit - 20 000 - Intended to be high to coax unlawful activity in Gallia)
Bought by Planet New Tokyo for 20 000 credits. (Clean profit - 15 000)
ILLEGAL IN BRETONIA - BRETONIAN LAWFULS WILL TRY TO PREVENT EXPORT

Tokyo - New London
“Contraband Kusarian Goods”

Bought and Sold by Planet New Tokyo for 5 000 credits.
Bought by Freeport 6 and Freeport 10 for 6 500 credits. (1,5k profit)
Bought by Planet New Paris for 25 000 credits.
Bought by Planet New London for 20 000 credits.
ILLEGAL IN KUSARI - KUSARI LAWFULS WILL TRY TO PREVENT EXPORT

Trading IDs
Trader IDs are to try and dodge through the warzone for the amazing profit. They will be assaulted not only by lawfuls trying to prevent the cargo from leaving their house, but also unlawfuls trying to make a quick buck off them.

Lawful IDs
Illegal goods are being ferried through the warzone, allowing them to either fine the ships, confiscate the cargo and sell it on either of the Freeports, or to confiscate them and ferry them back to their source systems.

Unlawful IDs
Can either hit the traders with monetary demands or to steal their cargo - though if they are working alone, they can only sell it for 5k per unit on either of the freeprots. They will also be, no doubt, hunted by both lawfuls and unlawfuls in Zone 1

Misc IDs
IDs such as the IMG can capture cargo from pirates ferrying goods to the Freeports or to aid the GRN and ferry goods to Gallia. Zoners will get a chance to prevent hostilities breaking out near their freeports or to prevent unlawfuls from camping them.

That's cold man, damn cold. Nice event though.

RE: THE TRIDENTE BLOCKADE - Skorak - 07-25-2016

What is the value of the cargo on unmentioned stations? 100cr? 5000cr?

RE: THE TRIDENTE BLOCKADE - Omi - 07-25-2016

My only concern will be traders quickdocking to escape being caught - particularly on Holman, considering the route involved. Will there be any measures taken to prevent this?

RE: THE TRIDENTE BLOCKADE - Shaggy - 07-25-2016

On behalf of CR|- I would like to request that we are added to this event to add activity for us and to give us that extra roleplay opportunity as we operate within Bretonian Space and Tau's.

RE: THE TRIDENTE BLOCKADE - Unlucky_Soul - 07-25-2016

Jump ships can easily bypass zone 1 by jumping ships to baffin

RE: THE TRIDENTE BLOCKADE - Thunderer - 07-25-2016

I don't see why would lawfuls want to participate here. I don't feel right when I take someone's whole profit only to profit much less myself. I hope the BPA) have a different opinion, because if not, the Bretonian lawfuls might just go on as if nothing's happened. Except if, of course, this brings a rise to piracy or GRN invasions to capture the cargo. PvP is fun.

You copied Spazzy's writeup of this event verbatim? What are the actual prices, or are these "rough estimates" the ones actually being used?
