Total Noob Says Hi - Tamaikazuchi - 09-03-2016
Heyo,
I just discovered the Freelancer modding community or else I would've been here a while ago. I just recently made a character with the beginner restart, though he seems to have disappeared from my character list...
Right now I am just getting comfortable with the controls and mechanics of the game, but I am planning to be a space trucker essentially. I love hauling cargo and generally being a relaxed player. I have no idea which ID or faction to go for right now but I am not worried. I'll just mine my helium and see where that takes me. I look forward to meeting you all and hopefully contributing to the community.

Join one of the few official and unofficial trading factions that we have in discovery.
Just a few examples, [*USI*], SMH-, BMF-, BMM-, Bowex) etc.
When you love trading, you will have alot of fun.

Hello there and welcome to Discovery. First thing that you need to do is read the server rules. Memorize them and try not to brake any. What I suggest you do is make enough cash for a small transport which you can purchase on Philadelphia Station. After you purchase that transport or any other transport you can find some trade route. Though you can continue trading Helium, but this time from Pennsylvania to Okinawa.

for a trade rutes i recommend :
Premium scrap (Texas , mine or buy from POB Beaumont Spire for 3000) , sell in Omicron Gamma for 11000 , alternative take Black market amno from Detroit munitions for 500 , sell for 6300 ( counts as smuggling , beware ) .
In return go with Xeno relics , mine or buy in POB in main planet orbit for 2800 , sell in Manhattan for 13000 ( smuggling ) , alternative , take Artifacts for 500 , sell in Manhattan for 7000 ( smuggling ) .Need to be at least -5 neutral with Corsairs , Junkers and Liberty Laws for this rute , like OSC or junker ID .
Helium from Pennsylvania to Sigma 59 , ( buy/mine for 1000 from Emelton storage ) , sell for 6300 in Yurasu station , go back with Helium 3 from Sigma 19 (mine or buy from POB on C/D-4 for 3000) , sell in New York/pittsburg planet for 8900 .Need to be at least -5 neutral with GMG and Liberty law for this rute , like ANY Corporate ID .
Gold ore ( mine in Dublin or buy from POB in London orbit for 3000 ) , sell in il de France , last left docking ring/mooring fix for 9000 . Then go to Picardy , POB Mont Blanc facility on F-1 , mine or buy Aluminium ore for 3200 , sell back in London/shipyard for 10500 .Need at least -5 neutral With Galic and Bretonia Law for this rute , like any Kusari or Rheinland Corporate ID .
You may also include in Premium Scrap in above rute , by towing Gold ore to Colorado/planet Denver for 8000 ,go with Pharmacauticals to Texas( minor income ) , then pick Premium Scrap and tow it to Dauphine/Fourchambault Shipyard , then pick Nickel from Orleains and tow it to Picardy ( minor income ) , then continue with Aluminium ore to London . In that you will also need Junker and liberty neutrality to , like any Rheinland Corporation ID .

Here's some tips for new traders:
1) do not F1 in space
2) dont be a silent trader
3) better to pay pirate than to get shot (unless too much cash) . Use /givecash (name) (amount)
hiring escorts helps.
4) learn to quick dock
5) learn to turret steer
6) we ha e our map of disco on forums if you wana use it
7) get FLStat and/or Freelancer Companion 2.something for finding trade routes
8) learn the rules of Sirius as best you can ( found in the communications section of forums)
9) have fun! ( I might be forgetting some things but meh)
