Help - sindroms - 12-02-2016

I went to the store to buy my dad's old display a DVI-D to VGA adapter.
They had the wrong kind.
My monitor has the right kind, but I am using it.

What do?

Welp.

RE: Help - Starbuck-Apollos - 12-02-2016

Don't worry, Starbuck tech support has got you covered here -

What are your computer & GPU specifications? You could always swap to HDMI (nab one out of the games console) and give your father the adapter:

If that's not possible, don't bother with any of that and get those sweet fire extinguishers and:

Still though, the whole DVI/DVI-D thing is awful because it's going between digital and analogue signals and the naming convention doesn't really give it away when you're glancing at the packaging at the local tech shop

RE: Help - Kauket - 12-02-2016

order it online?

RE: Help - sindroms - 12-02-2016

Waiting times.
Also it was a good enough excuse to get myself a new monitor.

Bring it back and change it.

RE: Help - Sciamach - 12-02-2016

Proper adapter: $10-$20
New monitor $200-$600

Good choice genius.

RE: Help - Jansen - 12-03-2016

The only acceptable choice.
