Good personnel are hard to come by - Skorak - 12-12-2016

It had been a few hours since the Chicago had escorted the battered, scrapped down ship of Kristian Levan in Bering and soon after it docked with the Harmony itself. The deck mechanic who saw it first had given off an appreciating whistle, not quite believing that the ship made it this far in the state it was. Nearly losing parts from just looking at, somehow it had managed to still bring the Cadet here.

The people on board didn't wait long and soon there was four armed men surrounding him. The men were clearly on guard, though more by discipline and experience than because they feared the pilot inside the ship. The last weeks made everyone careful and mistrust to outsiders was big.

"You either got some rough time behind you or you picked up a wreck from one of the debris fields. Wanting to be part of this little rebellion?" asked a man as the canopy opened. He slowly came forward between the men that were ready to take down whatever was in the cockpit.

As soon as the cockpit had popped open, a mushroom of smoke rose up making a small cloud of exhaust gas above the broken down Avenger. Whoever was inside still a mystery until, hoping himself over the side, dropping out from the cramp fighter finally, Kristian got out. Coughing slightly before straightening up, taking no time to scan the situation, but rather simply he put his hands behind the back stretching himself out before finally answering what he was asked. "I wish it was that cool of a story, but you can't say I had a rough time. Yeah, why else would I be here than to lend a hand."

On first glance the man looked like the kind of conditioned solider you only see in movies. Tall and well built, obviously physically fit.. blonde hair with a generic joke-to-the-side haircut guy wearing heavy black boots, boreal military camo pants and a black tank top with his cadet dog tags around the neck resting on his chest to show off.

Too impatient at the moment he couldn't help himself but glance over the mans shoulder, taking a good look at the four guards (which is at least what he saw them as) before switching his focus back onto the person that was standing between them, quickly moving onto his introduction as he took a more straight and disciplined stance, going in for a handshake. "Oh right, I'm Kristian by the way, ex-cadet Kristian Levan. Nice to meet you uh..?"

The officer in front of him gave him a look over and then kept himself from sighing out loud. He took his hand shortly.
"Lieutenant Cole. I'll be bringing you to the Admiral. She wanted to see you personally." He said as if that was something he found curious.
In the meantime an engineer crew was begining to assess the damage on the fighter. Even if it wouldn't fly on its own, it was still holding valuable parts.

"You better remember protocol if you don't want to mess up your first impression." he suggested without much emotion. An advice he'd give anyone who came along like that. He then began to lead the way, leaving the guards behind.

"I assume you know how to fight in that thing?" he asked on the way, in regards to the remains of the fighter that Kristian had landed on the Harmony.

"Well at least I know that much. You told me before I got here I mean." The cadet remarked to the lieutenants comment regarding the admiral. As Cole started leading the way, Kristian followed about a couple of footsteps behind him.

"I'm not the first impression kind of guy, I prove myself differently. On the field I mean." Mumbling through a yawn as he stretched himself out once more along the way, he continued to look from left to right as they passed through the ship, taking note of anything interesting he saw along the way. It was his first time aboard a Dreadnought, so it was slightly amusing for him. "Excuse me for all the yawning and stretching, it might be a display of indiscipline, but living for months inside a cockpit gives you habits. I'd rather not force the body if I don't have to."

"Oh, and I can't really fly one of those.. " Kristian answered with the most careless tone you can imagine, pausing briefly before continuing through a smirk. "I can fight in it though, disassemble and reassemble it. I know every single flight critical part on it, and I know which ones I can live without, I know its advantages and disadvantages in combat, which turning maneuver would have me take the least damage while under heavy fire, and how many shots the powercore can handle per discharge using any of the weapons registered in the known armaments directory."

The Lieutenant shook his head at the way Kristian behaved but it wasn' his place to judge this one, it was the Admiral's. And they now arrived at a small conference room. He knocked on the door and shortly after it unlocked. A slight step in the door and then he saluted to the women sitting at the other side of the room behind a table. She nodded. "Get him in." said the Admiral and the Lieutenant stepped aside, gesturing the Cadet to enter.

Kristian delayed his entrance for a couple of seconds, taking a deep breath to prepare himself for what was waiting ahead. Exhaling after another few short moments he finally walked himself in, taking a quick glance around the room, checking out which chairs were the nearest, before his attention locked onto the admiral. Giving a simple, short salute he said his greetings. "Well, good day. I'm here now." He took position standing in his full stature right across the admiral, hands behind his back keeping them straight. First impressions would say that the cadet never really experience how you should act at what was pretty much a job interview. But at least despite the fact the first thing grabbing his attention once he got into the room were the chairs, he didn't take a seat carelessly.

Victoria took a deep breath and then nodded at the Lieutenant again who closed the door. In front of her was a tablet with all the information she had on Kristian, which wasn't a lot. She looked slightly gaunt from working too much and getting little sleep though it wasn't quite affection her attention yet.

"Cadet Levan, please take a seat, I have a few things I'd like to talk to you about." She told him and pointed at the seat in front of her shortly. Using his rank she made clear that despite the situation, this was still military, still Navy.

"Thank you, admiral..?" Noticing the subtle way she tried to move his attention to the fact, Kristian did for a moment think to himself that he maybe should try to act a bit more according to protocol. Taking his seat though, the cadet was already forced to realize that he messed up given the way he addressed her rank in a questioning tone. Instincts and the simple course of habit were already getting the better out of Kristian, though no sign of worry shown by him.

She raised her eyebrow at his question but pushed it on the fact that he must be nervous. She was aware that most Cadets wouldn't meat anyone high ranked in a private conversation like this usually. She also didn't have the luxury to be picky.

"So Cadet, you fled from West Point when the fightings between the Navy and the LSF broke out?" While she asked, she gave him a closer look. The fact that he dressed to something like this in such a lax way wasn't to her liking. But he probably had little to change and they actually began to have problems in that department.

"Explain to me again why exactly you ran? If it is just the hierarchy and the discipline that annoyed you then I have to disappoint you."

"It was more the organization of the whole place, there is really no standards when it comes to who gets in who keeps out, who advances and who keeps glued to their rank. All the brown nosing most cadets did to get themselves higher was getting on my nerves. And a lot of them knew that the higher ups were wrong when it came to a lot of things but, doesn't matter I've got a piece of cloth on my uniform saying all my opinions are invalid. Even though I probably have more field experience than half of their chair warming asses. I've been stuck at this position for two years just because I didn't agree with my commanders way of doing things. And I can write a twenty page essay, no a whole damn book trilogy with movie adaptations and complete reboots about everything thats wrong with West Point. I can make a whole legacy of books on just what was wrong with the layout of my last training operations execution plan!" Half way through his long speech Kristian was back at his feet, and it seems he didn't even notice. The room going quiet as he comes to a realization of what happened. Dropping back onto the chair, taking a really deep breath to calm himself, it took the cadet a few moments to actually get to his senses. Seems the subject really lights the flames within him.

"I apologize for this.. I just really, really have a huge grudge towards some people there. I don't mind discipline, I was a spec for Christ sakes! Silent operations, recon, infiltration. That all requires a lot of painful conditioning. I don't have a problem with following military protocol, I do have a problem with being ordered around by a bunch of monkeys." Once he was finally finished talking, clearing his throat a bit Kristian went completely silent, having a hard time to even face the admiral out of shame, which he actually hasn't felt probably in years.
