Discovery Freelancer Patch 4.88.GP Heavy Transport Turret Update
This is part of an update release on XX/XX/XXXX. As of that date all the changes described are live on the official server.
Not too long ago a handful of transports were granted access to a new type of turret, the "Heavy Transport Turret". This was done to diversify transport combat and to enable battletransports to live up to their name.
After some consideration the balance team decided to expand on this idea and made the following changes:
- Instead of using the shipclassitems plugin to restrict the HTTs, they were given their own gun/turret class instead, and are now sold as class 5 guns
- All of the ships that were previously able to use HTTs retain their ability to do so, additionally, all liners, yachts and the Gallic Assault Transport were given access
- All ships that are able to use HTTs have received a limited amount of class 5 gun slots (between one and four)
- A transport EMP flak was added to the game, sold at all stations also selling the original HTT
