United We Stand - Thyrzul - 05-06-2017

Council Headquarters, Grand Ramier
Toulouse, Roussillon

It's about time.

Almost an entire year has passed since the abrupt ending of the previous meeting. After the distress call from the IKN forces prompting the sudden leave of Kaigun Taisho Sakuma Hitomi the imperial forces have not been heard of again for long. Soon after the Crayter Republic and the Gallic Council became occupied with further planning and then executing the reclamation of the Tau-44 system and the interest in another attempt for a conference waned over time.

It was only recently that the Imperial Kusari Navy have given word of itself once again: the well-executied series of combat operations over the span of mere months resulting in their further advancement into the Kyushu system, including taking control over the planet itself, ended up as a pleasant surprise among their allies. Along with the success of the Council and the Crayter Military earlier this year these events raised the interest in solidifying and officializing the alliance of these handful of (more or less) Tau-dwelling factions. In addition the introduction of the Frumentarii now provides a platform to involve the IMG in these talks while not compromising the Guild's public image in front of the Gallic Royal Navy.

Pierre was suddenly drawn away from his thoughts by a bright small dot descending in the distance. He was standing at the very same window as a year before, with clear sight onto the nearby Blagnac Spaceport. It was obvious the spacecraft was about to land there, whether it is carrying Kaigun Taisho Yukiyama Minako of the Dai San Yon San Kaigun Kokutai, Mad John Rackham of the Temporarily Autonomous Zoners, Sarah O'Riley of the Frumentarii, or Fleet Admiral Michael Richard of the Crayter Military was a mystery he knew he'll find out within minutes. He looked at his WristComm, reading the time on the display: 13:45 SMT, then let out a sigh while looking back at the descending ship.

It's about time.

Yukiyama was, instead of using a prepared vessel for her, using a small escort, consisting of her two Kaigun-Shoshos. The three Tora's entered the atmosphere after given permission to land on Toulouse. The spaceport was already in their sight, it was only a few hundred meters away, their ships slowly lowered their speed and hovered over the platform. "Konoe 1 and Konoe 2, I will take it on my own from here, no need to show the Council any kind of mistrust." She said. The two ships that accompanied her instantly moved out and flew towards the sky again, leaving her alone there while she was slowly making her landing approach. Her eyes made a swift movement to the big building which posed as the Council's headquarters, she could already see a man standing there.

She got out of her cockpit, wearing her traditional heavy armor for this very, if not the most important, meeting of her life. There was a wind blowing her hair behind, it was going in her direction, luckily, the way to the building wasn't as long, she felt that it was a good decision to send her Shosho's away. Showing trust and respect is the first way of earning the same back she thought as she entered the large building. The design was typically gallic. Toulouse overall was a space where she could see that the people of Gallia were no blind and violent conquers, they were normal, just like any other person, but trapped in a kingdom controlled by a maniac. The people that lived under the control of the Council were exactly like this, with the one golden exception: a government consisting of peaceful people, seeking to overthrow the throne and freeing the people, just like it was supposed to be. While Yukiyama despised the royalists, one thing which was common all across Sirius, was that the art of Gallia's architecture was as beautiful as few other things. One thing Kusari and Gallia had in common, their traditional and beautiful way of designing buildings and similar. She was in no way alone in this building, a lot of people were looking at her, some of them clothed like generals and other high ranked military and government officials, but nobody as armored as she was. She certainly was not playing to boost her ego or try to crush other one's, she knew that while walking around like this in the Imperial Kusari was normal for her, but in Roussillon, it was most likely rather uncommon for someone entering a meeting with full blown war gear. She left her weapons at home, as part of the "showing trust" move, instead, she had her red cape on her back, which added to the certain flavor that her armor was showing. This meeting would most likely look colorful when everyone would show up in their traditional high ranked outfits. The meeting room was just ahead of her, she had a piece of paper with her, rolled together. She put it in one of her pockets and stood in front of the door. She adjusted her armor again and pulled it straight, clearing her throat and then pushing the door open.

The first thing she noticed was, of course, Pierre LaFlamme, who was standing at the window and looking at the city of Toulouse. Since she opened the door rather quietly and hasn't made any sound yet, she might have yet remained unnoticed, she used the second to look through the room, which had a big table in the middle of it where they would sit and discuss,as well as a few decorations but that was about it. But it was also not necessary, concentrating on the meeting was more important. She took one step ahead and was now directly in front of the table, facing LaFlamme's back. Without him seeing her, she bowed down respectfully. "Misuta Pierre LaFlamme, it is an honor for me to finally meet you in person." She said and remained in her position until he would notice her.

Location: Somewhere in Tau-29, aboard the Epimetheus.

"Good job people, tractor the body into cargo hold for now, we will drop it in the minefield on the way to meeting" said a bold, strong voice, that couldnt belong any other person than Admiral Michael Richard himself. A comm static and afterwards woman voice came in, "The scum is on the ship, sir!". Richard watched debris flying right next to the ship, which was a one-piece Sabre just one minute ago. Thought about why would a lone Sabre attack a Hydra-class Gunship armed with new generation Crayter Multi-Purpose Laser cannons, then ordered cruise engine charging while staring at a barely visible Freeport 6. A moment later Epimetheus could have a visual of Roussillon Jump Hole. They approached the hole at impulse when distance was right and the hole sucked the ship in to spit it out near to minefield of Roussillon. Meanwhile the Outcast captive had his desperate attempt to open his pod and escape, only to be jettisoned towards minefield early than intended, stripped out of life support systems that was...

Moved rather slow at the minefield, the Gunboat managed to reach Toulouse safely. Richard stood up from his seat, went to the armory to get his heavy combat armor and weapons. He couldnt care for all the diplomatics and showing trust manuevers, just enough the situation needed. Being ready for a fight just in case was more important for him. He took his 'oddities', an accurate long-range Battle Rifle, good old trusted revolver of his and a vibroknife off their racks, despite almost every other Crayter personnel using laser or plasma based weapons, therefore his equipment nicknamed 'Admiral's Oddities' among Marines...

As soon as Epimetheus landed on designated landing area, Richard and his guard squad moved to the Council HQ, the group walked past deja-vu inducing places they walked one year ago, where plans of reclamation made. One of the guards opened the entrance doors for Admiral, when he entered he saw his old friend, too busy watching the Crayterian 'masterpiece'. Richard approached, gave a salute. "Hello again, General, its nice to be your guest again, even if for a different purpose." he said. Proceeded to bow down respectfully to the kusarian woman. "Kaigun-Taisho Yukiyama Minako, i am pleased to finally meet you in person. It is an honor to meet new leader of Kaigun Kokutai." he said after bowing and spoke to his guards with his comm device to wait outside, all but one.

RE: United We Stand - Thyrzul - 05-13-2017

He watched the ship descending at the distant spaceport and the delegation slowly but steadily making their way from Blagnac to the HQ building in Grand Ramier, through Bordelongue, which for now is a city of a cluster of half dozen similar-sized settlements, but may easily become a district of a megacity they may form later, as the planet develops. All the meanwhile Pierre was thinking about how unfortunate the premature ending of the previous meeting was, what could have been achieved a year ago, what happened since then, how could these events alter the situation compared to what the politics of the Tau Region and surrounding areas used to be, and if at all it's still possible to formalize the alliance how it was initially intended.

Misuta Pierre LaFlamme, it is an honor for me to finally meet you in person. - an unknown female voice broke his train of thoughts from behind. Pierre was apparently so distracted by his own thoughts he missed the arrival of the first guest. He immediately turned around to greet her. - Kaigun Taisho Yukiyama Minako, if I'm not mistaken. Enchantée Madame. It's an honor for me as well. - he bowed deep, being aware of Kusari's traditional greeting, then took her hand for a handkiss, to greet as a Gallic gentleman as well. - Take a seat while we wait for the other guests to arrive, s'il vous plaît. - he motioned to one of the comfy chairs around the conference table.

The room itself didn't change much since the previous meeting: a moderately spacious rectangle-shaped room with a long oval table in the middle and chairs enough for even eight to ten people. Glass wall separated it from the corridor they've entered from and the majority of the opposite wall was covered with two huge 3D display screens. There was also a holographic projector in the middle on the table, next to it were five tablets already prepared, one for each of the guests and of course one for Pierre himself.

Another descending bright flash caught his attention from the corner of his eye, the second guest could be seen arriving through the windows on the side walls. It didn't take long for Richard to arrive.

Hello again, General, its nice to be your guest again, even if for a different purpose.
C'est splendide to see you again too, mon ami.

The two old friends shook hands with wide grins on each face before the Admiral turned to the Kaigun Taisho to greet her as well. Now there were only two guests left to wait for before the meeting could start.

Mad John Rackham reflected on this important mission, as his whale, battered from countless missions across the width and breadth of Sirius eased into closing orbit with Toulouse dock. Stroking his hand over the cracked leather of the master pilots chair he muttered "It's been a long time, remind me to take you for a refit at Pueblo after this meeting old gal".

Grabbing a fresh set of Robes, a shower and pocketing a handful of cigars, Rackham was ready to disembark as his ship auto landed. "Take the cargo off lads. There's a crate of brandy in the hold for a neat job re-loading." And with a wink and a nod at the dock Charge Hand, he was away, striding quickly towards the Council HQ. Rackham was looking forward to meeting General Pierre LaFlamme again, and the others, and having some constructive discussions about the future of the Tau's and also how these mutually interested parties might reach some accord.

He needed no guide to the Council offices and on arrival walked straight up to reception. "Is Pierre in?"

The receptionist took one look at the Popes Robes and glinting eyes, recognising him immediately. "Yes, Ambassador, the General is expecting you, please follow me." ............

RE: United We Stand - Jack_Henderson - 05-18-2017

The small, worn freighter that was flying unmarked through the darkness of space was heading towards its secret destination: the meeting of the resistance who would try to wrestle the Taus from the war machinery of the GRN. The Independent Miners Guild had their hands tied by the GRN's presence and the vulnerability of their civilian assets in Gallic space, and of course there were also some in the Guild who did not wish to oppose Gallia for other reasons. Not the Frumentarii...

Sophie Chamberlain, agent of the Frumentarii was steering the freighter well off the lanes towards its destination while Sarah O'Riley was operating the sensors and communications. She was going over some of the data that they would provide the resistance with, when Sophie told her about another GRN patrol that IMG sensors had picked up.

"Hell! What's wrong with them today?!" Sarah cursed, while she was focussing on the data that they received on the movements of the GRN ships. "Come to course 229.1 773.1 883.3 to avoid contact. Do you copy, Sophie? Recheck calculation."

Sophie was running the same checks, just not by means of a navigation computer but by intuition and her knowledge of this part of the Taus. "Somewhere that way, yes. I'll turn harder... better safe than sorry." and the freighter was pulled into a gentle curve away from its direct course. "Tell the guys we will be late."

"Sure, just keep us out of sight. We are carrying stuff around... we would not want to be dropped on our feet." Sarah told her and then she opened the comms unit, checked the encryption and wrote up the message that was sent in a short encrypted pulse:

RE: United We Stand - Byron - 05-19-2017

The ride surely had been a bumpy one, considering the proud seniority of the freighter the two Frumentarii agents were using to stay under the radar of the Royal forces. It couldn't turn quite as well as Sophie had hoped, and through the course of their undercover flight, the ship was constanly rattling and tattling, in fact sounding like it could fall apart any second. Of course it wouldn't, that had been assured beforehand, as it carried two very important delegates, as well as delicate information they had with them. She still had some troubles keeping the ship on course though, as she wasn't used to flying one of these models, however if she learnt one thing during the time she had to battle her way on her own, then that the single most important key of survival was adaptability.

Without much attention being drawn on their small vessel, they managed to land on the Council headquarter quite easily. After Sophie had landed the freighter at one of the free-standing areas of the hangar, they climbed out of it, recognizing a few other vessel that were already standing there, vessels of many different cultures, Sophie thought.

The routine checks by the personnel on board the installation of course were a pest as always, but necessary, after all, it concerned a top secret meeting. After those security checks had been finished, the two agents made their way out of the hangar into a long, wide corridor that was lightened by bright lights on the ceiling. Walking besides each other, Sarah quickly turned her head back to the entrance of the hangar again. "Alright. That ... took longer than I expected. Tight security they have here ... but I guess that's a good thing." Previously, Sophie had folded her hands behind her back. "Quite so, yeah", she said. "They don't suddenly wanna have undercover Royal marines on board after all. Would be a fun shooting, but no thanks, not today. I just hope these patrols didn't have us on their scanners back then. Well, at least I didn't see anybody following us, but that doesn't have to mean anything."

Sarah briefly raised one of her eyebrows, hearing about the other agent's concern. "We kept good distance, no. The mission is not compromised. Furthermore, this is safe space", she stressed and then put on a smile: "Alright. Agenda... anything we need to think of except... handing over the surveillance data pack?" She was fidgeting with a PDA to get another look at the meeting's setup. Sophie briefly turned her head around to look at Sarah before focusing the door at the end of the corridor again. "Except of that? Usual stuff I suppose, boss. I'd think about how to greet that Kusarian representative though. Could turn out ugly if we do it the wrong way." A chuckle and another thought later, Sophie continued. "And just hope that meeting will produce fruit. Alsooo..." She stopped for a moment to open the small handbag she had with her, opening the view upon a small box. "We got a present for them of course, nearly forgot about that. Some very fine sensory data from Java. I'm sure they'll like that."

Sarah nodded and grinned when she saw the small data cube. "That promise to be able to leak this data was likely our entrance ticket to this game", she commented when they finally reached the end of the corridor and stoof before the doors. The security would open them and moments later they would be meeting and greeting the delegates.

The two Frumentarii agents had a job to do here, to do what the Guild could not do, to listen to what the alliance would do and to use its own influence to make it happen within the Guild.

"It's a pleasure to be with you all today", both said exactly at the same time, exactly in the same manner.

RE: United We Stand - Thyrzul - 05-20-2017

It's good to meet you in person, Monsieur Rackham. - Pierre was briefly greeting the discordian pope when a short "beep" on his WristComm signalled the arrival of a new message. - Oh, excusez-moi pour just un moment. - The Frumentarii delegation was expected to be late due to GRN patrols blocking the planned path of flight. The delay wasn't much though, the guests arrived shortly, with a unique and impressive stereo entrance. After a few minutes of quick greetings Pierre raised his voice to take control over the flow of events.

Mesdames et messieurs, take your seats, s'il vous plaît. I'm certain you've had your time for introductions, but in case you haven't, let me fill the gaps quickly. - he began announcing each of the guests in order of arrival. - Kaigun Taisho Yukiyama Minako, the current leader of the elites of the Imperial Kusari Navy, the Dai San Yon San Kaigun Kokutai. Fleet Admiral Michael Richard of the Crayter Military, et in extension representing the Republic itself as well. Ambassador Mad John Rackham of the discordians of the Baffin system, the Temporarily Autonomous Zoners. Et last but not least, Mademoiselle Sarah O'Riley of the Frumentarii, et in extension representing the Independent Miners' Guild as well. - he motioned towards every representative each sitting at the table while introducing them.

We are here today because our people are connected by several things, mesdames et messieurs, plenty of events et places, enemies like the Gallic Royal Navy, some of us partially while others fully dwell the Tau Region, but at the same time we are still different people trying to live together with our commonalities et differences. We are here today to clarify et discuss even the finest details of our cooperation, to share information with eachother et coordinate our actions accordingly et in union.

Just a quick few words about the technicalities.
- he cleared his throat then motioned around the table, the accessories on it, and the displays on the wall. - There are five tablets on the table, four of them is for you each, - he picked up the fifth one, - this one is mine. - he put it back on the table. - These are connected with both screens as well as the holographic display in the middle of the table, should you wish to use them for displaying various things, maps, plans, charts, tables, et cetera. They are also connected with a few safe databases downloaded et separated from the neural net to prevent cyber attacks while browsing. Lastly, there are a few options available to request certain refreshments, et should the meeting last long enough, choose dinner from the available options, in case the need arises. - with a sigh he continued with the next subject.

Alors, as the host of this meeting, I took the liberty to write up a quick draft of schedule for this conference, which is what I intend to discuss first. - Pierre took his tablet, and with a few quick motions he already uploaded a list onto one of the screens on the wall detailing the planned topics of discussion.

Diplomacy clarification
Common enemies, potential threats
Common allies other than the participants of the meeting, potential business partners
Military cooperation
Available combat assets for synchronized combat operations
Potential targets inside and outside the Tau Region, maximum range of operations
Logistical cooperation
Combat logistics synchronization, produced or accessible wartime supplies
Commerce, produced or accessible commodities
Technological cooperation
Possibilities et obstacles of technology exchange, compatibility of foreign technologies
Terms and conditions of technology exchange

He explained the above topics briefly: - Any further topic is directly tied to et depends on discussing our diplomatic ties among ourselves, this can greatly help aligning our operations properly et can avoid misunderstandings resulting from lack of information exchange. Once we dealth with that we can begin discussing our combat et logistical operations as well as share intel at our disposal with eachother in order to ensure the success of our cooperation. I believe full synergy can be achieved by an amalgamation of our technologies, merging together all the advantages et fixing all the flaws, whether it's possible or not is something I think we should also discuss. - he finished, looking at the others and awaiting their responses.

Tell me if you have or find anything to add, alter or take away, or if it's fine for you to move on along these topics, s'il vous plaît.

Richard took the tablet from table it was nicely sitting down and connected it to his PDA to transfer necessary files he prepared for the meeting. After some time a beep could heard from both his PDA and the tablet. He stopped the connection and put the tablet down to the table, then touched it several times to open a map of Tau regions, especially focused on Tau-44 out of all things. "Ladies and Gentlements, before we start the topics General LaFlamme listed, i would like to present a short 'history lesson' for our out of date participants."

Meanwhile map was set to show territorial control at 823 A.S., moving at accelerated pace to present time. "You all know Tau-44 was our home way back then. Thanks to The Council, we were able to mount a large-scale joint assault there and successfully control the system recently. It took many brave Crayterians and Councilmen to achieve this." The map slowly changed colors of blue-white of GRN to black-red of Crayter and some orange around Provence Jump Hole to represent the Oblique. With that achievement, we gained more production power and ability to house more citizens than ever. Though we still need repairs at Minato Harbor."

Richard touched more and map suddenly changed to Coronado, home of Crayter Republic. Showing the dreaded Jump Gate of Nomadic origin intact, Yuma without the second Docking Ring, at 824 A.S. He noticed O'Riley's raised eyebrow in the brief moment he looked at representatives."Meanwhile at home, with The Order's help, we managed to destroy the damned gate of Aliens. It did not go all well of course, those sniffers we call as Outcasts mounted a large counter-attack and heavily damaged my ship and i went to some sort of coma due to things exploding in my face. Never underestimate those sniffers. When i awaken i saw another great achievement... colonisation of Yuma, finished." Richard noticed LaFlamme's slightly sad and mostly nervous dont-tell-that face and thus skipped the split happened in Military afterwards. "That should be all on Crayter's side of things over the year, i hope it was informative. Thank you for your time." He said and map slowly faded away from the projector while he sat down to his chair back.

Yukiyama listened carefully to what Richard said, since she was still relatively new to the whole admiralty responsibilities that her cousin Sakuma Hitomi dealt with before her she didn't want to afford any mistakes. She thought back about the little reconnaissance operation they had in Tau-44 a week ago where they saw their damaged base which was in a critical state. She nodded at his words when he mentioned it. When he finished and nobody else seemed to speak up she decided to be the next one. "Hai, arigato for this introduction to the current state of the Crayterians within Tau forty four." She cleared her voice and started to elaborate. "Allow me to explain the situation of the Imperial Navy as well." She swiped a map of Kyushu and the Tau-29 system next to each other to visualize what she was going to say. "We have successfully pushed the republican Naval Forces out of Kyushu and have taken over the full control of Kyushu, which serves as our capital until we re-captured New Tokyo." The Kyushu map lit up in the Imperial's yellow-golden tone and disappeared, bringing the Tau-29 map into the center. "The Tau twenty nine system was constantly being pushed by the Naval Forces when their foothold in Kyushu was strong enough to enter this system, now that they lost Kyushu, Tau twenty nine is relatively safe to pass, which means that we can easily enter Baffin and Roussillon without facing a threat coming from behind and cutting us even further away. The Akatsuki is constantly watching Nago station to ensure that it does not bring goods to the republicans, as well as restricting all the traffic residing in its vicinity." The map disappeared as well and she took out her paper which mentioned all of her points that she wanted to bring up. "I will now bring up the topics without trying to discuss them, only to make sure that we know what is to be discussed." She cleared her throat and looked over the paper to find all points that she could associate LaFlamme's points with. "First, about common enemies, I will let out the republicans since this is a topic you probably won't want to interfer in, however I speak of the Outcasts, that commonly enter Tau-twenty nine, I assume they come from the Tau-twenty three system, as the IMG will probably confirm." She said and nodded in the IMG's representative before continuing. "The Royal Navy has recently attacked Baffin, as you probably know, we couldn't arrive in time and were forced to retreat, my condolences for the ones who lost their lives." She held one hand at her chest and bowed down from her neck right after she had a short moment of eye-contact with Mr. Rackham. "Next point, possible allies, it would be better if someone of you addresses this topic, we are very focused on Kusari right now and don't have much contact to possible friendly entities outside of it. As per military co-operation, our size and amount of vessels make it hard to assist in a heavy combat, one of our destroyers is in New-London, aiding the bretonians against the Royal Navy, our other two are in Kyushu to fight the republicans. Our Battleships are guarding their systems. To make it short, what we can and will do." She held her finger up when she came to the 'will' part. "Is helping with our destroyers should you need it. As for potential targets I again hope you have something to mention as we are not big enough to launch a large and constant strike against any targets, all we can do is support." She adjusted the paper in her hands and continued. "About wartiem supplies and logistics, currently we have a few transports here and there, bringing basic needs, since Kyushu produces a lot of food, I think this is very useful for your forces, if you require food or something in that range, we should be able to provide it. As for what we could need, well, we need medicine every now and then, although we recently received a big amount of med-stasis bands, which is a start. The Imperials lack recources to build smaller ships, not that extremely much but we don't have enough to nearly keep up a speed of producing as the republicans do." She came to the last point and sighed a little. "About technology, well."She sat up a bit more leaning towards the center of the table. "I don't know what you could demand from us." She looked into the faces of everyone at the table. "But there is something we could heavily need the Council's and the IMG's help with. The Imperials once owned a so called Satsuma, a giant Kusari Imperial Yacht, which was basically a mobile headquarter. As far as we know, the Council should, since we retreated into Roussillon, still have this ship somewhere, damaged and not functional. It would be an honor if we, with the help of said parties could repair this vessel, so our Tenno has a place to reside, should the planet be unavailable. I know this is a very heavy topic and I know it is not easy to discuss, so please, let us speak about that as one of the last points and concentrate about what is beneficial for all of us." She went quiet and waited for someone else to speak after this massive amount of information.
