Cairo conference - Omicron - 08-24-2017

Cairo was at first sight station in middle of nowhere. Remote in the less understood and charted section of known space. Save The Order, guests were infrequent and the system itself was known to few: visited by fewer. Using shadow of Palmyra, an old barren rock in high orbit around Eridani black hole, as The Order had named it, Cairo station was logistic depot permitting The Order to project their power into the neighbouring Sigma systems.

Admiral Golanski prepared the only adequate place on the station that could house dignitaries of these he expected to come. It was never meant to serve as an embassy, however its proximity and relative calm made it just the right place. He had invited two people of power: Anna Heinrich of Red Hessians and Kara Yukari of the Guild. Expecting to hear about incoming flights at any point, he poured one of the finer examples of Corsair rum into his cup as he reviewed the contingencies for the worst that could happen with second Sigma war. Knowing almost legendary hate for Crete’s kind that these two may posses, he’d disguised his reserve. Displaying his prefferences in plain sight of them would had been… a wrong move, he had guessed.

Location: Cairo Station, Omicron Sigma
Date:25 August, 824 A.S

Danger, Radiation levels rising. The ships computer spoke up, keeping Anna and her two guards on their toes. Being several systems away from any support, Anna was a bit more cautious on her little tour of the Sigma systems. The Bundschuh agents didn't seem very bothered at all, they spoke up constantly, making themselves as much annoying as they were a liability. After notifying Anna that they had exited the Sigmas, Anna took a glimpse up through the ship's cockpit, looking at the surrounding objects in the system, the Green nebula and strange asteroids definitely served as a notice that they were in the Omicrons.

The group began to cruise up to the station, upon exiting the asteroid field Anna saw something strange a little below, a bend in the stars. She tilted her ship slightly, and saw the giant black hole disturbingly close to the group. The group was so close, yet they weren't being pulled in, Anna starred down into the abyss a bit longer before one of her guards spoke up. We've arrived General. One of them said quickly before hearing the Bundschuh escorts give them the same notice. Proceed ahead. She replied, it was time to find out if the Admirals words were sincere.

RE: Cairo conference - Shelco - 08-25-2017

"Finally departed..." Kara whispered to herself, as she saw the Bishamon unmooring from Gas Miner Naha. The ship slowly flew into the dust of the Crow Nebula. Her eyes were stuck on the view of the station, though, that became more and more unclear for her to see, the further the ship went. She had never seen it from such a perspective before, as a passenger. Her thought pressed against her mind several times, the Sigmas became something like a dangerous desire to have, with all the current problems floating around in her head and in space as well. Not a single silent night or a well-deliberated thought could go through her mind with all the pressure being made upon her. A good condition surely was something else than this. "Yukari-san, we are close Sigma seventeen, any orders?" Makara, the second captain of the Yukari Maru asked her, turning his head back to see Kara sitting on her place, staring out of the window. "No... just keep flying, we need to go to Omicron Sigma." She replied with a voice that sounded like she was not even aware of the reality. Makara nodded and turned his head around again, steering through the jump anomaly. Only the flashing lights of the system jump could wake Kara up from her daydreaming, from her drowning into a fantasy of calmness and a bit of freedom from all this mess. Makara knew what she would think right now, at least, he thought he did. But from her overly, nearly depressive mood right now, he could see that any attempt to sweettalk her or even try to, would result in a deadly stare. He rather kept his mouth shut.

"Sigma seventeen, huh?" He said to Kara with an uplifting voice, way too uplifting. It was just obvious that his attempt to make her cheer up for some reason would be fruitless if the only he'd have shut up her as well now. Kara turned her head to him, buried in the palm of her right hand. "Hai, how fascinating, Kurile will only become an issue in the future as well, I bet those Samura bastards already plan what chaos they can do here when Rheinland really tries to invade us." Her glance turned hateful as she spotted the Kunashir cloud, in which Kurile was. She slightly shook her head and then turned it away, becoming aggressive now wouldn't help either, not with Golanski, not with Heinrich, those were people of power as well and if the tension would be as tight as she hoped it not to be, this meeting could turn into a yell-fest as well. "Guildmistress, you shouldn't attend meetings in a mood like it was guaranteed that our downfall is ensured, a lot of good things will happen, I am certain of that." Makara said, turning his head back once more to look at her. She had already thrown her eyes into his direction as he started to speak. "Your optimism is what I would like to have. You know I am not someone to give up, but if stupid consequences arise from even more stupid reasons, I just cannot get a smile on my face, this whole meeting is only being caused because there is a possible conflict." She almost yelled back at him. Makara sunk into his seat a little, the Omicron Sigma Jumphole was near. He decided to rather shut up for now.

"Wow..." He whispered 20 minutes later, Kara had sunk into another daydream but suddenly woke up as she heard him. He stared down into the giant black hole that was below in the system, its dreadful appearance seeming like an eye that was slowly coming closer with the rotating mass around it. Truly, a scary sight. "Mhm... " Kara made when she looked out of the window to see the hole as well, although it sounded from her voice as if she was just not impressed and thus her reaction was dull, it really was a simple "Mhm" because even she was impressed by it, such a sight so close to the Sigmas. "We have arrived." Makara said and stood up, as the gunboat slowly went into the automated docking mode. Kara got up as well but stopped Makara halfway as he wanted to pass her. "I want you to stay here and watch for the ship and all, I manage this, we will be done in a few hours." She said calmly with a serious look on her face, nodding once. "Hai, maybe it's better if you don't have to endure my annoying presence in there as well." He replied and smirked. Kara had to chuckle once before slightly shaking her head. She opened the exit as the ship was finished with making its landing approach, leaving the ship and entering the base.

RE: Cairo conference - Omicron - 08-25-2017

"Proceed to landing pad number 15... 16... 17... follow the yellow hologram on your way in."

Cairo's crew had already prepared suitable landing spots, leading them out of the way for rest of the Order traffic to launch and land as needed. It was a busy port, small craft frequently moved in and out. Heinrich could see that some Order soldiers were awaiting for them there. What looked to be an Order officer, some maintenance crew and two towering armored marines different from rest of the ussuals. Likely to be Admiral's own security detail.

"Glad to see you, General. Admiral is awaiting you. Elevator will take you to the site." Officer addressed them with Bretonian accent, reffering to for now sealed doors where one of those steel canned marines was holding guard. He himself stood out of their way recognizing and acknowledging them as important visitors, giving way to rather industrial-grade elevator for about six people. They were taken upwards in reference to overall station's plane, deck over the hangar. Everything was tidy and well maintained and their conference hall of choice was just short walk straight out of the ride. They could not stray around, two more marines flanked them their helmets were however open. They nodded in respect, though their arrival obviously broke some kind of casual conversation between the two.

Admiral was sitting across the well lit table, not neccesarily sort of person Anna may had expected. Too young for her expectations of an Order veteran, she had never seen him actually beforehand. He was clad in the simmilar outfit to the officer they met before, though he had prominent silvery in color parts and accents protruding at certain sections implying it is at very least lightly defended. Sounds of the station dimmed as the doors closed behind Generalmajor Heinrich. Guildmaster of the GMG would come after her, though delayed on top of suitable gunship pads being farther away.

"Welcome. You are first but we wont have to wait too long for the Guild. Drink?"

GMG's gunboat was alike taken out of the way by massive ramp designed to deal with ships of higher mass and volume. The Order contingent that greeted her offered a trip on a skimmer hovering just over the surface meant to transport heavy equipment and personnel alike. Just like Hessians, they were taken by most direct path towards consultation where The Order's overlord was awaiting them all. Well stocked canteen was available for any extras, a little bit of luxury made available to both Kusari and Rheinland extra's until they could depart.

"Guildmistress Yukari? Heinrich and Golanski are already present and were informed about your arrival. Good luck!" Accompanying lieutenant offered these words to Kusarian, pleased that they are making some progress as a faction on diplomatic front. She eventually would reach the same hallway with two marines standing by.

RE: Cairo conference - Shelco - 08-26-2017

With her straight and gracious walk, Kara nodded towards the marines as a greeting but rather quickly getting into the elevator as well. She sighed once when she entered it, the elevator was a bit unusual for her to see in that base but for a small outpost that far out, probably usual. Kara stood completely still as the elevator passed the different levels, her hands folded behind her back. Bing. It made when the level was finally reached. Her high heels made a big knocking sound on the steel ground everytime she took a step. Both Golanski and Heinrich might as well have already guessed that she was to enter the room every second now, a subtle entrance was probably something else. She was glad that she had her business Blazer on, the base was rather cold and freezing during the talks was the last thing she wanted before it even started. She generally hoped for the meeting to be rather clear and done quickly. An easy plan to make the offer to help the GMG lucrative had to happen, even if it would cost sky high sums. The big doors that marked the entrance to the conference room where Generalmajor Heinrich and Grand Admiral Golanski were already having a nice conversation slowly opened as she nodded the two marines guarding the door aside. "Kon'nichiwa, Admiral Golanski, Generalmajor Heinrich." She said and even bowed a little, which was unusually traditional for her. "I hope you didn't have to wait too long, I didn't want to request a big escort and just took my own gunship to come here." She walked towards the right side of the table, so she could see Heinrich and Golanski the same way.

The station had a completely different layout, people of all difference races, the station had a less strict vibe to it. It was different, and only different to Anna, who was focused on meeting the admiral and not much else. Anna exited her vessel, as she walked down the stairway she was greeted by her two guards and an Order officer. Glad to see you, General. Admiral is awaiting you. A nearby elevator will take you to the site. The Officer spoke up, as she turned around. Anna made a quick hand signal and the guards followed behind her. The group moved quickly over to the elevator, the guards had to duck down to get in from being so tall. The order officer escorting them looked at them a little bit cautiously as they entered.

Just ahead at the end of the hall. He spoke up, as the elevator doors opened. Anna had her two guards wait near the elevator as she walked over to the door. As the door opened, Anna looked at whom she could make out to be the admiral. He was young, very young by his looks. He didn't seem to be as bitter as his reputation made him out to be, but then again people said the same about Anna when she was just a Flieger on the front lines of Omega-5. Welcome. You are first but we wont have to wait too long for the Guild. Drink? He spoke up immediately with optimism. Anna walked over and took the glass, sitting down as she smelled it find out what it was. After taking a sip from the glass she went to speak up, but she was cut off by the sound of the door opening again. Kon'nichiwa, Admiral Golanski, Generalmajor Heinrich. She spoke up with optimism as well, Anna sat back and waited for the Admiral to speak up again. Now that everyone needed was present.

RE: Cairo conference - Omicron - 08-27-2017

"Good to see you all."

Admiral was to the point, after all everyone here would to some degree know each other by now. He would keep the bottle and glasses on display for anyone of them to use as they wish, keeping tone of the meeting it somewhat less formal that even he was accustomed for. They might not had much time and his gut feeling told that Hessians may preffer such treatment.

"I had wished for all of us three to gather in here to discuss common interests and how we can aid each other. Fascist movement in Rheinland is attempting to instigate another 80 years war. Unioners, which I believe used to be in alliance with Hessians many years ago rose from strategically insignificant - for The Order - blip on a radar towards aggressive force expanding to areas that seen no Unioners before. Somehow they managed to sway the Military High Command against the GMG. There is little love between me and current Rheinland authorities. Feelings mutual too."

He swinged another dose of strong alcoholic liquid before continuing, creating a pause during which he observed as he still held attention of his most esteemed guests.

"The Guild has vast resources, funds, connections and monopolies. Tactical advantage as it comes to defend their clouds. Hessians know more about the fleet you two face, Heinrich after all fights them on daily basis. Hessians have undoubted superior knowledge about their day-to-day operations, tactics and much closer relation to the foe as you clash each other in close combat. The Order may not have direct interests in revolution at first sight but I personally funded Bundschuh rebels and oppose the Buro."

The particular hatred for Rheinland's bureau of marine intelligence would be accented in his speech, unmistakable by anyone present. This organization in particular was the only thorn he considered unworthy of existence, polluting the the very universe with their breaths. He had hoped his message of disgust was well received.

"I doubt Hessians will cross an extra mile to aid the Guild without an incentive and The Order will not enter the fray without neccesary supplies that GMG can acquire for us. It also lays in my interests to ensure that Rote Hessen Armee and The Order Black Fleet can synergize... both in Rheinland and beyond into Omegas."

RE: Cairo conference - Shelco - 08-27-2017

Kara listened carefully to what Golanski said, her head nodded slightly, as she agreed with most of the things he said. When he mentioned the swaying of the Rheinland Military against the Gas Miners Guild, the picture of her deshielding Admiral Sterr's ship came up in her mind again. A move she certainly regretted and condemned. Yet, she was sure that it wouldn't be of any importance in the future to come. The risk of a conflict seemed to be less probable by now but a fire to ignite war was still not completely gone yet. Although she was sitting rather comfortable right now, Kara came closer to the table, instigating that she would speak now, although Anna seemed like she had to say something as well, and the natural look of this woman was something to not underestimate, good, that what Kara was planning to say would only be positive. "First off, arigato, for the words, Admiral Golanski, I see I don't need to correct you there. Well, let me say it like this. The negotiations between us and Rheinland have settled down a little since I paid the fine to the Admiral, but this also means that Rheinland hasn't made any move on getting their desired peace yet. While we are not at war, the tensions between us and Rheinland are uncomfortably noticeable." She stopped for a moment and cleared her throat and drank a bit of water that she filled herself in a glass before speaking. "Excuse me, where was I, oh, exactly. I have the bad feeling that Rheinland will find a reason, even if they have to stage one, to attack the Gas Miners Guild, which is why I am ready to use a lot of money and resources to supply both the Hessians and the Order. The Gas Miners Guild has enjoyed a long episode of prosperity and strength, enough to easily finance this, not to mention the positive outcomes for us if a possible war would result in a victory." She turned a bit to Anna and continued. "Miss Heinrich, the Gas Miners Guild has never been much of an ally, but I swore, from the minute I became Guildmistress, that our relations regarding possible allies and friends have to become a reality, the Hessian war machine can gladly be financed if we have the guarantee that your army will be an ally of ours. Currently, I cannot speak about much apart from the war with Rheinland, in which this would come in handy, but looking at the future, I am sure we can find something as well, but I am not saying too much yet." She nodded once in Anna's direction and turned a little again, facing Golanski. "Admiral Golanski, the same goes pretty much for the Order too, the problem there is that the Kusari Republic will sooner or later be aware of an alliance, if our ships are being seen in combat together, Rheinland has tried to pull Kusari against us before already and I bet this would give them a pushing reason, if the Order aids our forces, we need to find a way to assure that Kusari does not interfere." She took another sip of her water and leaned back a little, crossing her legs and raising her head a little while switching her view between Anna and Golanski. She wasn't sure about how the two would react, Anna was known to be harsher, that was noticeable when they were talking on the Neural Net already, while Golanski seemed rather eager to help the Guild. This could only be interesting.

Requests upon requests upon requests upon requests. Finance from the Guild in the form of fuel might be useful if the Hessians hadn't already made their own engines with their own personal fuel compounds. Anna took another sip from her drink, and put it down. The Imperials are traitors, savages and what not, I hate them, and almost everything about them. But if there was one thing I could take from them, or leave without any change, it would be their liquor. Anna put down her glass after finishing the sentence both heads turned towards her.

Asking me to win you a war that you insinuated by making me and Volksrevolution look like a tool of yours to fall back on in a public broadcast across the galaxy, and asking me to be your ally are two very different things, Guildmistress. Her tone sharpened a bit from the beginning of the sentence to the end. She followed up immediately with the same tone. Money and fuel will get you aid, money and fuel will not make you my ally overnight. Alliances aren't bought, especially with me, they're earned. She paused for a second as she reached for the bottle of rum to pour another glass. As she poured in the liquor she spoke up again. You'll have my aid for this conflict in return for finance, you'll earn an alliance by winning this war. This war must happen if you want this- She moved her hand in a circle to indicate what she was talking about - to happen. As for your implications and proposals with me and the Volksrevolution, Admiral, that is better discussed in private. For now let's hear what else the Guildmistress has to say before we really get down to business.

RE: Cairo conference - Omicron - 08-28-2017

Admiral Golanski was watching as Heinrich obliterates the Corsair-made alcohol much faster than he expected the bottle to last. He considered calling to fetch another bottle from the bar should she kept going at this rate. Yet, it was just minor detail distracting him from more important matters at hand.

"Yet allies in bilateral relations offer something in return. Deals are natural part of it though you are right in assuming this does not happen overnight. You have all right in expecting some answers. Miss Kara, speak. Remember, our friendship is far older than both my status as Admiral and your leadership. I honor it so it may outlast us both."

Trying to make GMG's rep feel welcome at least here. He did not lied though, caches of 'stolen' GMG weapons and ships was not uncommon prior to development of Kemwer and replacing of most outdated arsenal. Still there was so much that they could offer as a fence: middleman between lawful colonies of Sirius and the underworld he represented.
