Miraluka

Appearance: Dark red skin, shade of red differs with age. Black, White, or Red hair colors. Slightly higher than average height.

Description: Average strength compared to humans. Though they are only more intelligent than humans by a small amount, their brain is incredibly complex. Allowing for them to learn a large amount of information in a very short time. Their memory is near-perfect. It is this complexity of the brain that they believe causes the abnormal abilities of Miralukans. Though it has never been found how it does so, or if that is true. The psychic limitations of the Miraluka are yet to be found, and it is likely that it differs between different Miralukans. The only records of Miralukan who were violent to their own kind, were ones who had limited abilities. Those with limited Telepathic abilities were outcasts, alone, and therefor rebelled often. Later these defected members of the species were rounded up and used as test subjects.

History: The early history is unknown. All we know, is that before the C'tan came, the Miralukans had a vast civilization. Utilizing a crystal only found on their own world they created ships and buildings almost unbreakable to anything. Their home planet became a giant planet-wide city covered with buildings created by the same Crystal the ships were. They constructed enormous space-cities. It was their biggest one that they eventually drove into the C'tan home world N'grenis.

When the C'tan finally went after the Miralukans, they vastly underestimated the initial opposition they would receive. The Miralukans, due to their psychic abilities, communicated on a telepathic level. Because of this, the Miralukans were against any form of inter-species violence. Instead turning their violence against other species.

Therefor, the C'tan who count on Human prejudices and divisions, was not a tactic that would work on the Miraluka. Instead the Miraluka as a whole rebelled, and the enlightenment surgeries failed. At first the fight went well for the Miralukan who's ships were vastly more powerful than the C'tan's and could withstand all the attacks that were thrown at them. However, the C'tan's technical expertise was great, and they quickly learned ways of dealing with the ships.

But the techniques were difficult, and highly expensive. And though it worked, it would take a lot of time and resources to finally destroy them all. The Miralukans, seeing that they would, if in a long period of time, lose the fight. So they assembled all of their ships for an attack on the C'tan homeworld in an attempt to stop them before they could get the necessary weapons to stop them.

The entire race boarded the ships, because if they failed, there would be no life left for them. They left only a small group. One tasked with the job of destroying the world and its crystals in case they failed. They would not allow the C'tan to get a hold of powerful resources.

The attack, which was devastating to the C'tan, was not devastating enough. The Miralukan ships literally sliced, and sometimes rammed, their ways through the C'tan defense ships. After hours of getting pummeled, the C'tan counter attacked in the only way that was possible. Hitting the Miralukan ships with enough mass to knock it out of commission. Letting it fall down upon the world. Only the sheer number of ships on the C'tan side won them the battle. Taking every Miralukan ship with one of their own, as they rammed their ships straight into the crystals.

It continued like this, losing lives from both sides until it came to the City-ship. One to large and powerful for them to really destroy, but to slow and big to attack back. That was when, whatever they were thinking, they decided to ram it into the planet. Hoping to take as many C'tan as they could. The crash devastated much of the surface of the world, killing billions of C'tan. This was thought to be the funeral pyre for the Miralukan race.

Present: There were however, two survivors. Though it is not known to the public that the species even exists. One, the strongest living Miralukan, Luciaden, leader of the Asgard Warriors and perhaps the most powerful man in the eastern half of the galaxy. Raf'el, special and personal agent to Darkstar of the Phantoms. Who is determined to kill Luciaden whether it kills him or not.

Luciaden currently uses the AW to hunt down and destroy the Phantoms and C'tan. And with no real like of the human race, is nevertheless indirectly protecting them.

Raf'el and the Phantoms continue to pursue the conquest of Sirius, while attempting to hold off, and sometimes just avoid, the AW.

addendum: There have recently been sightings of several Miralukan Crystal ships appearing, first at the edge of Sirus, then gradually closer. The ships seem to be focused around equipment recently recovered by Captain Soren of the Chimaera. When activated, it attracted the attention of the limited AI of the ships. Gathering some to move closer. the equipment is currently held, and being examined, in a secret AW shipyard.
