And all Her Majesty's men - Wolfs Ghost - 03-16-2009

Three Hours earlier

"We have Corsairs in Cambridge."
"What? Alright."
"This is the Captain of the HMS Derby, All ships launch we have a Corsair invasion in Cambridge! Fighter support needed."

Austin smiled rushing to his fighter, he looked over and gave a thumbs up to Rockwell. "Ready to go?" Rockwell nodded as he climbed into his fighter, Austin did the same. A wing of Templar's and Paladin's launched from the Derby and headed towards Cambridge.

"I was ambushed at New London Gate in Cambridge, requesting assistance." Lt. Commander James Hobart said over the communications just as Austin entered the System.

"Moving to your location, Sir." A few more acknowledgments came over the communications also.

Minutes later Austin arrived at the Cambridge - New London gate "Targets.....not here...the hell is going on?"

Voices came over the speakers "They moved to Cambridge high orbit! Get here!" "Cambridge orbit! Just off the Research Station. Under heavy fight..Multiple target"

Austin nodded moving towards the tradelane, activating it, his ship shot down to the battle zone. "Engaging Corsair targets!" was his engagement notice, among a lot of different ones. After a few long minutes of fighting Armed Forces chased off the Omega Pirates Guild, fighters, only to be called back into the fight by Hispanian Armed Forces. Who didn't stand a chance.

Two Hours and Fifty minutes earlier

"Reports of Kusarian's in Leeds."
"Shall we? Maybe they're not cowards like the last bunch have been."

Planet Leeds - Stokes Lane
Two Hours and Thirty Minutes Earlier

"So, do you chaps surrender?"
"Surrender? Never."
"Then what the bloody hell are you doing?"

No reply came...Two of the Kusari ships began moving, and at that note, Weapons where discharged and the fight begun, right off the bat Austin downed a Chimera fighter.

"Hah, nice one."
"That's one for me..I'm in a good mood today. Let's take the rest of these chaps down eh?"

The fighting lasted a decent while. During the climax of the fight a Kusarian Gunboat entered the combat zone, and was destroyed just as quickly. Only a Chimera and a Raven Talon remained, or so it seemed.

"Hah, if you think their easy, your going to have a hard time taking me out. Because I'm here to defend my honor." Said a Farmer over the communications.

"Why's that?"
"Honor! Haha! If I had a credit for everytime a Kusarian said that, I'd be rich."

The farmer replied back "You'll have a hard time with me because I'm in a light fighter." He sounded like he was silently laughing.

Over Secured Communications the Bretonians Laughed. "Target him when he gets here."

The Farmer entered the fight only to get wasted a minute. "Well that was rather easy, Eh chaps?" Austin said chuckling over the communications, at this point the last Chimera begun to flee. Oddly enough, he replied over the communications saying. "My Mission here is complete."

Which in itself is strange, For the Kusarians lost Three Chimera's, One Raven Talon, One Griffin, and one Gunboat. His mission was to get those chaps killed just so he could retreat? Funny. The Bretonian pilots just laughed and pulled out to go to Edinburgh. Only to be forced to either withdrawal or eject.

One Hour and Ten minutes Earlier - New Berlin System, Planetary Orbit of Planet New Berlin

"Hmm...Oh...a Rheinlander Military officer! Sweet!" Austin said, either a bit joyfully, one couldn't tell.

"Hello, Bretonian."

"Hm..Ma'am do you know a Police Officer by the name of...uhm...Lena, christ I forgot her last name.." Austin said mumbling. "Anyway's. If you know her could you tell her I said 'ello? Thanks." Before she could reply quickly enough, since she was still thinking, He entered the tradelane and left for Frankfurt, contemplating whether or not to go to Kusari space. Finally making up his mind, he decided to go to Kusari space. Two Bounty Hunters muttered over the communications about seeing a Bretonian ship with the Armed Forces transponder. Austin shook his head only to tell them he was off duty. That was that, or so he thought.

Upon entering New Tokyo, planet Fuji caught his eye, an electrical storm was going on in the upper atmosphere, which...Austin has never seen from space. It looked beautiful. So while his ship drifted in orbit of the Fuji, a Chimera approached from behind...

Forty Minutes Earlier - New Tokyo System, Planetary Orbit of Planet Fuji.

"Engaging Bretonian Spy!"

"I may be in civilian attire, but I do know how to fight." Austin said turning his ship tightly, managing to get behind the Kusarian Attacker. "I've fought on the front. I know what I'm doing, chap." Austin muttered into the communications mic while letting a burst of tachyon and particles discharge from weapons.

The fight lasted a good twenty minutes, the Kusarian barely managed to drop his shields. Austin on the other hand dropped the shields countless of times. He actually felt bad for this rookie. "Chap, we know whose going to win this battle. Wouldn't it of been better to arrest me instead? I would of came quietly.."

Shortly the Kusarian ship stopped firing and made two attack paths before cutting it's engines. "Fine...your under arrest, Bretonian."

Austin sighed as he disabled his weapons and got into formation with the Kusarian. The young chap must of been new, for he was extremely quiet, aside from the heavy breathing. "You did good for your first fight." Austin said, no reply. "Honestly...next time don't randomly stop moving and try to hit me, I'll just find openings." Still no reply, Austin nodded and was quiet for the remaining trip.

Two minutes after the fight they arrived in Shikoku, and proceeded past planet Junyo to Fuchu Prison station.

"Here we are...your ship will be locked down, and the Guards don't sleep on duty." the young kusarian replied, finally. Austin only chuckled muting his communications as his ship was put into docking.

"Right, I'll take this out with me...oh one more thing.."

Burst Transmission:
To: Any Bretonian Ship
From: Austin Goodman, Ensign

I've been *static* by Kusar*static* don't *static* for me...*static* Tell R----
Transmission Lost

Twenty Minutes Earlier

The communications chip Austin pulled out of the ship crackled to life. "Goodman, Goodie, you there?" Austin looked at the black chip and stared before replying back "Rockwell is that you?" He knew the voice sounded familiar. "Aye, it is. What's going on? Why am I getting this transceiver from Kusari? You didn't get...." Austin stopped him.

"Yeah, I got captured. Long story really..."

Rockwell chuckled over the communications. "I'm going to get you out, Alright? Don't go any where. Like you can anyways."

Austin muttered "Har, har very funny. Make sure you bring..*static* weapons, I think they're trying to pinpoint this transmission. Surprised they didn't yet."

Rockwell chuckled again over the communications. "Who else did you tell you've been captured?"

"Hobart, but...he's probably going to laugh it off and forget the next day. Like always." Austin said sighing lightly. Still wondering why they didn't end the transmission yet.

"Yeah probably. Anyway's I'll bring you some supplies, mate. See you in a good twenty minutes or so."

Fuchu Prison

Now

Twelve minutes after Rockie left, Austin already dismantled a small compartment and stuck items there. "Right...thank you Rockie. Only blasted person I can trust at the moment." He said taking his hand and placing it on the wound that he received earlier for insulting a Kusarian guard.

Austin leaned on the wall and looked up at the ceiling, then pulled out the map Rockwell gave him. "So this is my escape path...Lovely...good thing I know how to run." He said as he laughed lightly and placed the map back in his pocket, just as another Guard came.

"...Pathetic Gaijin fools. Never eat the food we give you. Why exactly?" The Guard said pointing at the bowl of sushi knocked over.

"I'm not a bloody fool, squinty. I know you lace your food with Cardamine, why else would you feed me such crap?" Austin said staring at the guard. Who only laughed and continued with his duty.

And all Her Majesty's men - Wolfs Ghost - 03-21-2009

Now
Royal Bretonian Hospital - Planet New London

"Scalpel." The doctor said holding out his hand. A nurse reached over and handed him the scalpel. "Right, we're beginning to extract the bullet from his arm. Shouldn't take more then an hour." The Doctor said taking the blade and pushing it gently against Austin's skin. Bloody oozed out slowly. "We'll need to be careful, he's lost a lot of blood on the way back."

Austin's fingers twitched, though he was completely out, mainly on the morphine and other drugs to keep him knocked out. He felt the pain but could hardly react. For, he was after all, doped up, so to speak. As the operation began, Austin was out cold. Yet, anyone watching could see his eyes where moving quickly behind the eyelids, a case rapid eye movement, he was dreaming.

---------------

"Right, ready?" Rockwell said. Austin only smiled as he knew what was coming. "Ready, Rocky. Hopefully basic's does kick in here."

Rockwell laughed lightly and pressed a button. A supernova torpedo hit the bottom levels of the station, as well as a secondary explosion, a smaller one, blowing the door down. Austin clicked off the mic and started to run.

He ran fast, extremely fast that he slipped and slammed into a wall. Luckily it was only for a moment. Two Kusarian Guards, well armed, rushed down the opposite corridor, exactly like Austin planned it. One guard shouted, "Halt! Or we'll open fire!" Austin merely laughed and flicked them off before breaking into a full sprint again. The guards opened fire, bullets pinged into the walls behind him and next to him.

Rounding a corner, sharply, Austin ducked down and pulled out the pistol Rockwell has slipped him. After loading the pistol he cocked it and stood up. A guard rounded the corner behind Austin. Austin quickly ducked back into cover after firing off two shots. The shots barely hit the Guard as he let a full clip into Austin's cover.

Austin waited for the right moment. Which was the clip dropping on the metal floor. Standing up quickly Austin proceeded to the hanger doors, The guards in hot pursuit.

Outside Rockwell was dealing with his own small problems. Fuchu quickly launched a wing of Police craft, and the nearby Battleship sent a Naval patrol of a Destroyer and two gunboats plus fighter escorts. Things where about to get extremely heavy.

Back inside, Austin scrambled for his ship. Taking a bullet to his right arm. Caught up in the adrenaline rush, he didn't feel it enter. Before finally strapping in, Austin turned and fired an entire clip at the nearest guard. Two bullets hit, the other missed, the two that did hit however, didn't kill.

Flipping switches, the old Paladin prototype came to life. Austin grinned as his shields came online just as the bullets inside the Station started flying. Ignoring the fact he was still in the station he quickly plugged in the communications and spoke over the headset. "This is Austin Goodman of the Bretonian Armed Forces. Kusari, you let an Ensign escape your so called maximum security prison. I might add into fact that this is dishonorable to your kind, and If I where you I'd go to that lovely Green tea room, commit sekkepu, and while your bleeding out mutter all the things you love about your so called honor." His voice had a hint of laughter in it. "Now then. I suggest you clear out of here before I blow down those blast doors."

A few of the Guards dropped their weapons and quickly ran the way they came. Others however continued their assault, and just as planned, the track Austin's ship was on began to move to the Airlock doors, which opened. After a few minutes of taunting the Kusarian's while his ship was getting ready to be launched, the outter doors opened, and hostile fire was coming in. Austin could only laugh as he gunned his ship into open space and free from the stations defense turrets.

A few moments passed by as Austin nabbed Formation with Rockwell's ship. "Well then...." Austin said, before looking down at his arm. "Apparently I was shot, and it hurts like hell." Rockwell could only laugh. "Well, that was fun wasn't it?" Rockwell replied. "Indeed it was..." Austin said turning from private communications to system wide. "Hahaha! Take that Kusarians!"

Over the communications, a familiar voice came through. "Wait, what?" it was the voice of a Kusarian Farmer, who strangely enough was in the right place are the wrong time. "Ah, you heard me you bloody Squinty!" Austin chuckled into the mic.

The Farmer mumbled lightly "Who are you?!"

Austin couldn't hold it back, "I am Ensign Austin Goodman of the Bretonian Armed Forces, and you, sir, just witnessed a bold escape from your bloody detention center!" On the other hand, Rockwell responded with the "...Uhm, Freelancers." After hearing Austin's response he could only laugh.

"Right then, we'll be leaving this rather lovely system of yours. Through a jumpgate. Have fun." Austin said, as Rockwell's and his ship entered the Galileo jumpgate. During the start of the jump phase the farmer could only reply, "Comeback and fight you gaijin cowards! Stand your ground!" Austin could only laugh, Rockwell, on the other hand, replied "Cowards? We, sir, are not cowards. For I believe I bravely helped a fellow Armed Forces officer escape from prison, and now it is time to make our departure. See you on the frontlines." Final word to be recieved in system for the Kusarian was Austin saying "Chap."

Once in Galileo they proceeded to Liberty Space, sanctuary, or no harassment at least from Kusari. Quickly passing through Liberty Space they entered Magellan. Where they encountered severe Ion Storms.

Austin was bleeding out, slowly, but still was bleeding out. He managed get the wound to only ooze a little, but couldn't stop it.

An hour passed before Rockwell's ship and Austin's ship touched down outside the Royal Bretonian Hospital. Austin managed to make it to the front desk without Rockwell's help. But then he collapsed, and the folks around helped him into a stretcher and rushed him to the Emergency Room.

---------------

The Doctor smiled lightly "Alright, hand me those, tweezers." A nurse handed him the tweezers, and he inserted it into Austin's wound. Beginning to pull out the bullet. "Get ready to stop the bleeding, hopefully we can get the wound closed within the hour." He said, finally able to retrieve the bullet. Dropping it in a bowl off to the side. The Doctor sighed, "Alright then, lets stop this bleeding. So he doesn't die on us. Would rather him die on the front lines then behind the front lines in a hospital." The Doctor mumbled.

---------------

"Mom? Dad?" A kid called out. "Mom! Dad!" No reply came.

The street was filled with people he didn't know, none of them looked Bretonian, in fact, they weren't. "Mom! Dad!" the kid called again, lost in the crowd of strange people. He noticed movement, strange movement, in the corner of his eye turned quickly. Only to see a Kusarian kid, getting gained up on by Blood Dragon's. He wasn't scared, for it all happened in a matter of minutes.

One of the Dragon's looked up to see a kid, about the same age as the one they were messing with, charging at them wielding a knife, not just any knife. But a combat knife. He stumbled backwards as he was hit full force, kid and blade. Gurgling he fell over, lifeless.

The other Dragon quickly backed off seeing his friend lifeless on the floor.

---------------

Laughter is heard as a steel doors creep open "This! This is lovely! An old Bunker on Leeds! Haha I'm going to be a lucky, lucky chap. Hm, maybe I can turn this into my own apartment. My secret little project. Can't wait till I show the chap's this place. Hopefully they'll help me renovate it, or at least, contribute to the funding.

And all Her Majesty's men - Wolfs Ghost - 04-06-2009

Two Weeks Ago
Branch Hospital, New London

"You check out Mr. Goodman, you can go ahead and report back to the front lines." The Doctor said lightly standing up and leaving the room.

Austin nodded, smiling he followed out of the room and then headed down to the front door. Where surprisingly a personal-taxi was waiting to take him to the transport leaving the port. It took a total of fifteen minutes to get to the spaceport, another five just to get checked out, and...another twenty to actually sit and wait for the transport to actually launch.

So good to be in Bretonia space again... He thought as he started to dose off on the slightly long flight.

Yesterday
Battleship Derby, Leeds

"Oi! Got a transmission, seems a political convoy is going out, they need some escorts." Someone shouted from across the bar. Some of the pilots ignored the guy, another half laughed, and only one stood up.

"I'll do it." Austin said, nearly shouting, when everything got quiet. One guy started clapping, and laughing at the same time. "Ah, leave it to the so called King of the Paladin, eh boys!" he said, some more pilots laughing.

"Bah, go put two in your arm, chap." Austin replied walking out of the bar and to the hanger. He stared, looking at each of his ships first. "Paladin, as always I guess." He said walking over to it, then climbing in.

Yesterday
California System, Diplomatic Convoy -- Arrival

"Alright, area around California is clear, erm, hold on got someone hailing me." Austin said muttering as he switched his communications channel.

"Soldier! Get moving there is a Civilian ship under attack near the Magellan gate!" A Female voice crackled over the comms.

Austin mumbled and switched back to secured, "Sir? Did you get that?"

"Yeah, we did Austin. Go ahead and go. We'll wait for you."
"Copy." He turned sharply and entered the Tradelane to the Magellan gate. Upon arriving nothing was there. "Bah...nothing here, looks like it was a fake call." He shook his head and went back to the diplomatic fleet.

Today
California System, Diplomatic Convoy -- Return trip

"Brill, hows it looking up there?" Austin said over the comms to an Ensign in the Liberty Navy.

"Mojave is clear." Brill said.
"Copy that, the Brookstone is through." Austin said, watching the LNS Brookstone come out of the gate. "Alright, the Prime Minister's ship also made it. Moving to Mojave now." He said spinning his ship around and entering the tradelane. So far so good Austin thought.

The fleet, more heavily guarded then yesterday, made it to Cortez fine, where the LN Ships dropped off and headed back to the Liberty Core worlds. Upon entering Manchester, everything was fine. Nothing happened. Until they got to New London.

Austin smiled, seeing the New London star. "Aye, when this war is over with I'm thinking about going into the parliament, or..something." He said, after the Prime Minister told him that he was an old Soldier who served in the Bretonian Armed Forces. The conversation was finished when the tradelane was disrupted, and a Corsair ship, along with a Hispanic voice, came. Without thinking, Austin's reactions kicked in as his guns warmed up and engaged the Corsair ship.

Last Transmission ever received at that moment was "Goodman, pull out." It came from the Prime Minister himself, Austin replied back "Negative Sir. Not until your safe." Shortly after, The Prime Minister was safe in Salisbury, and Austin was forced to eject from his Paladin.

817 A.S. - Earlier today, the Prime Minister's office confirmed rumors of an attack on the HMS Whitehall, which was carrying Prime Minister Mountbatten back from a diplomatic conference in Liberty. The attack was believed to have been carried out by a pair of independent Corsair pirates who were not connected to any known major Corsair faction.

Despite taking heavy fire, the Whitehall was able to escape from the pirates with only minimal damage, and is presently undergoing repairs at a secure BAF facility. Prime Minister Mountbatten himself is unharmed. The escorting fighter, piloted by BAF Ensign Austin Goodman, was destroyed in the fighting, but the Ensign's escape pod was retrieved, and he is also unharmed. BAF and third party reports indicate that Ensign Goodman's brave resistance was what allowed the Prime Minister to escape the firefight and make it to saftey.

While it is believed that this was an attack of opportunity, rather than a planned assault on the Prime Minister, the BAF continues to investigate the details of the attack. BBC will follow this story as it develops.

And all Her Majesty's men - Wolfs Ghost - 04-07-2009

There had not been a parade like it in some time.

At least, one that Austin has been to. He was only an Ensign in the Armed Forces, fighting to protect his country. He didn't have time for these thing's. Except for today. Austin looked up hearing a loud roar.

Four of the most significant Dunkirks in the Fleet performed a flyby over the barren field of the New London Military Spaceport. Everyone present should have had hearing protection, but didn't, of course, and likely lost five years off their hearing.

- The Pendragon, the Admiralty Board Mobile Command Flagship.

- The Regina, the personal Flagship of Fleet Admiral Nelles.

- The Majestic, commanded by John Redmond.

- The Rodney, a well maintained old ship, under the command of Admiral James Montgomery (Reserve), who had the duty of Auxiliary Chief Marshall of the Reserve Fleet.

Multiple telescreens showed the Fleet Admiral, the Minister of Defense, and the Queen herself on the parade deck of the Pendragon. Higher ranking officers were gathered behind the dias, for the ceremonies.

Austin leaned back watching as the Minister of Defense took the stage. He sighed lightly keeping his eye's on the Minister of Defense, waiting.

Minister of Defense James Ralston began the proceedings.

"Honoured guests, members of the Fleet Admiralty Board, and Your Majesty.", he began.

"Today we witness an unprecedented acknowledgement of the dedication and skill of many of the members of the Armed Forces."

Translation. The fall of Upper Leeds took a lot of pilots to their graves. Those who remain are obviously the best of the best, filtered by battle. And there were now a lot of holes to fill in the ranks, from top to bottom.

"Firstly to the rank of Admiral, I ask Her Majesty Queen Carina to do the honours."

The Monarch stepped forward with a pair of Admiral insignia, and an aide stood by with two gilded swords.

"Lord Aubrey Mainwaring shall assume Admiral duties, and command of the Sixth Fleet, and the HMS Essex."

The new Admiral came forward and kneeled before his Monarch, who then presented him with his laurels, and his sword.

"And", Ralston continued, "Sir Stanley Nelson is promoted to the rank of Admiral, and command of the Fifth Fleet, and the HMS Suffolk."

Sir Nelson came forward, and took his rank insignia and sabre with a smile. He had requested an ancient Cavalry sabre. God knows why. Maybe he wanted to use a horse on a future boarding party.

The Minister of Defense would personally promote those deserving of the rank of Commodore; those men were Douglas Bader, John Redmond (MBE), and Lord Sir Roger Brinkley, also a Carina's Cross recipient.

Bader was assigned to command the First Battle Fleet under the 11th Great Fleet, under Admiral Frobisher, onboard the Grimsby.

Redmond's Dunkirk, the Majestic, was assigned to be the Flagship of the First Battle Fleet, under Admiral Cunningham of the York (Flagship of the 8th Great Fleet).

Brinkley would be assigned to lead the First Battle Fleet under the 11th Great Fleet, based out of the HMS Derby.

The Fleet Admiral took over the proceedings from there.

"Promoted to the rank of Captain : Winston Doyle, Neville Hughes and George Harrington."

These men also received ceremonial swords, and though they were not as elaborate as those granted to the Admirals, and nor could they be custom ordered, they were fine blades, which a good swordsman could use to defend his bridge. When Leeds fell, that did happen a few times.

The Fleet Admiral continued:

"Promoted to the rank of Commander: Jack Frost, Blake Owen, Simon Aldwyn, Evyn Hunter, James Hobart and Aileen Fowl."

Those new Commanders came forward and graciously accepted their insignia. The Fleet Admiral was a bit nervous around Commander Evyn Hunter. It was rumoured that Hunter had once made an attempt on the Fleet Admiral's life, but the incident had been swept under the carpet. Strange times, indeed.

Sir Stanley Nelson announced the remainder of the promotions and assigned those more junior officers their new ranks.

"Promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander : Rodney Trotter, Jacob Carter, John Richards, John Cooper, and Roger Ring."

Rodney Trotter and Jacob Carter already had received DFC's and were wearing them proudly at the dias.

"Promoted to the rank of Lieutenant", Nelson continued, "Ian Driscoll, Roland Gilead, Daniel Elgey, Elsie Robirds, Moritz Karlson, Ryan Williams, Dennis Harris, Boris McDonald, Jare Karlo, John Galt, and Chris Wallace."

Austin clapped for each one of them as they where promoted to Lieutenant's, all the pilots looked happy. He on the other hand, was slightly annoyed, apparently he didn't make the promotion board. I'll try harder next time then. he thought to himself

These young pilots came up to the dias anxiously, and received their promotions with respect, but some nervousness. Hundreds were watching.

At that point, a new figure approached the dias, Prime Minister Lord George Mountbatten. He bowed to Her Majesty, and took the microphone with the ease of a professional politician. He looked into the crowd and found a specific Ensign, whom he then gave a wink to. The Ensign had looked crestfallen, believing he had been passed over for promotion to Lieutenant, but now he looked like he simply had no idea what to believe.

Austin watched as a man he hasn't seen in person until today, took the stage. He stared back at the man, giving him a rather confused, bewildered, and annoyed look. The Prime Minister only winked. To which point Austin sat up even more, despite the pain in his back.

"Less than a fortnight ago," began Mountbatten, "I was enroute from Liberty when my transport, the HMS Whitehall, was attacked by a Corsair raiding party."

He continued, after a short pause, "I won't elaborate, since many of you know the details, but if it weren't for a certain Ensign here today, you would now be bickering over who your next Prime Minister would be." There were a few surpressed chuckles at that.

Austin didn't chuckle, he only stared at the Prime Minister, his heart rate slowing down slightly. This, is strange.. He thought.

"Promoted to the Rank of Lieutenant, Austin Goodman!"

Now-Lieutenant Goodman paused in a bit of disbelief, then marched smartly up to the dias.

The Prime Minister addressed him in a casual tone, now, quietly. "Congratulations son. I am, for stunningly obvious reasons, forever grateful for your service. Wounds healing?"

Goodman could only nod, his thoughts racing. They didn't forget about promoting me. My god I'm meeting the Prime Minister in person, This...this is strange.

"Excellant. Your CO tells me you have the makings of a hell of an officer, IF you keep your nose clean, and obviously, relatively unbloodied."

Goodman managed to speak this time. "Yes sir, I'll be sure and try, sir."

The Prime Minister nodded then went to dismiss the Lieutenant, then paused. "I'm forgetting something, oh yes.." Another wink now.

He boomed out again, Austin took a small half step back slightly freaked out, "It is my honour to present Lieutenant Goodman with Carina's Cross. He saved my life, and I give him this. I think I came out the best on this trade."

"This honour usually falls to Her Majesty, but I have asked and received permission to give this award myself."

He looked at Goodman, and asked quietly, "If you don't mind, of course.."

Goodman, at this point, could only stammer, and shake his head.

As he pinned the medal on the Lieutenant's uniform, the PM laughed quietly.

"Don't look so surprised, son. You saved my ship, and my life. Did you think we were just going to get you a Christmas ham?"

Goodman was dismissed from the dias and returned, beaming, to his squadron. Forgetting they were on a parade ground, his fellow pilots cheered him and jostled him, and smacked him on the back. Which hurt like hell. Ejecting from a Paladin really was not gentle to the human body.

The Marchpast was deafening, and the Dunkirks blazed over the field, then disappeared into the sky, to their various postings.

While looking back up at the sky, and the things to come. He only wished for one thing. To find his lost Wingman, Sipher Rockwell, who should of been promoted to Lieutenant on this very day.

Unknown to anyone, Austin secretly vowed to not give up, not for the Queen, not for Prime Minister, nor for the Fleet Admiral. He was considered a hero among his fellow pilot's, a hero in the eye's of the Bretonian Citizens. However, he was just a soldier fighting a war. Anyone else in his situation would have done the same thing.

Yes, it was a morale boost for fellow pilots to know they where fighting along side a Hero. It also means that people would ask him questions, and it would mean he's now the biggest target, in the war.

For what boost's morale of the enemy, can also demoralize them. He looked down at his chest and stared at the medal. Shaking his head lightly and whispering

"I guess a medal is worth getting a bullet in you arm, being in the hospital for a week. Coming back on duty to realize your wingman has mysteriously vanished, fight an ensign in the Kusari Naval forces. Receive two titles from the Fleet Admiral himself, get a new wingman who turns out to be a 95 year old miner. Receive volunteer order to escort the Prime Minister to Liberty space, meet an Admiral of the West Point Military Academy.

Receive a loft to sleep in for a few hours, wake up and get yelled at by your commanding officer. Help the libertorians during a fight, return to Manhattan to rest for a few hours before the Prime Minister's ship leaves, leave Liberty heavily escorted, then enter Bretonia with just one escort. Then get attacked by two Corsair ship's, by holding them off until the Prime Minister escaped."

He sighed, then inhaled deeply. He looked around watching pilots laugh and joke around with each other, some pilots raised their glasses as he walked by, shouting "To the King of the Paladin, Savior of the Prime Minister!" Other pilots smiled and gave him a salute as he walked by, they where Ensign's. He walked past a group of Volunteer Fleet pilots who gave him a small smile, He served with them.

He continued through the crowd of people. Blank expression, holding himself high. One could say he was a changed man, another could say he was eager to get back to the war. Yet other argue, he wanted something more then just a promotion, and a medal. As he continued to walk, carrying himself like an Admiral would, he thought Queen's Royal Guard, or Knighthood...Both will be hard to achieve, but if I got a medal, that is hard to achieve itself, then both of these are within reach.

His thoughts trailed off.

((I would like to say that I didn't write all of this, myself, Some the character interactions where written by Dieter. I do not take credit for the original post found here: Bretonian Armed Forces. However, I would like to Thank Dieter for giving me something I could use in this Roleplay. Thank's Dieter.))

Suicide Missions, who would of thought! Austin thought to himself as he walked in on crutches into the civil service office on Planet New London.

"Hello." He said making his way to the counter. The lady stared at him for a few minutes before smiling, "Your that guy that saved the Prime Minister! I've seen you before on the tele during the Award Ceremony! How can I help you Sir?" She said still smiling, which disturbed Austin for a few moments.

"Right, I would like to fill out one of those...papers to get my last name changed. Please, if that's acceptable." He said, leaning on his crutches.

She nodded and looked for the paper, after a few minutes she found it. "Just sign here with your current first, last, and new name. Then here for your current job, and...here for your family to sign off on it, that is if you're under the age of twenty."

He nodded and took the paper, then slowly proceeded to an area to sit down at. The lady at the counter stared at him, as if admiring him. He ignored her and started to fill out the application.

Quote:Current Name: Austin Goodman
Desired Name: Austin Goodmen
Place of Employment: Bretonian Armed Forces
Parent/Your Signature: Austin Goodmen

That simple eh? He thought, grabbing his crutches then standing up and walking, or rather limping over to the counter. He laid the paper on the counter and pushed it forwards.

The lady smiled "The names Tiffany Bogart. If you where wondering." She said taking the paper and giving him a wink, a rather seductive wink to be exact. Austin looked at her with a blank expression before turning around and leaving. "Like I don't have enough on my hands at the moment, Good day ma'am." He said on his way out.

A few people looked at Austin, then at the lady. As if something wrong happened.

Three Hours later.
Planet Leeds, Austin's Apartment, Abandoned Bunker, 304

The now, Lieutenant Austin Goodmen, sat down at his desk and smiled as he opened up the Computer. He stared for a second before typing a message.

Terry, this is Austin. I need some information about a few people. You're the only person that I know that actually can get a hold of this information. Now, I'll give you the people's names before you can reply back asking 'who'. The names are "Arianna Winston, Hakatoa Yamota, John Miyagi, and Suzuki Akane."

Reply back when you've acquired the information.

Terry smiled, "Well well, if it isn't my boy. Austin. Seems he needs a hackers help." He said, adding a light laugh at the end. "Well, let's see who these chaps are." He replied, to himself, opening up a program.

Terry nodded to his success. "Well then, I believe I shall get a cup of tea and wait until this is over with." He said standing up and proceeding into the kitchen, in his apartment on Mactan.

Terry Scott, a friend and former colleague of Austin Goodmen, he taught Austin how to hack, and in return, Austin taught him how to fly. Things didn't go well as Terry hacked into the Norfolks defense's one day. The Armed Forces never forgave Terry for this. While Austin was away to finish his final training to become part of the Volunteer Fleet, Terry was exiled from Bretonia.

Terry, now exiled at the age of Twenty-Six, was a professional hacker. Instead of wanting to take down the corporation called 'Ageira Technologies' his primary goal in life is to return back to Bretonia. It is said that a few traders passed by Terry's fighter as he randomly sat next to a tradelane and did nothing at all. When in reality, he was trying to find something useful in the data stream.

It was also said that Terry, does still support his house that he's been exiled from. It is said that a Kusarian Hacker was wandering around near Terry's apartment. Terry came out carrying a loaded weapon, aimed it at the Kusarian, and fired twice. Other Lane Hackers around at the time ignored it as if nothing happened.

As Terry came back from the kitchen with a hot cup of tea he proceeded to sit down. He took a sip of his tea before staring at the screen, "Bloody figures." He said looking at the percentage, "Austin...you bloody moron, this is going to be a very...very long night for me." He sighed lightly as he opened up another Computer, then a program.

Bah, Austin. Thanks for keeping me up late. These databases are slow to upload and hack you know. Gah, anyways I'll continue to do this little task you're wanting me to do. Keep on your toes, lad. It's a hellish place out there.

P.S. Congratulations on your promotion to Lieutenant, the award, and saving the Prime Minister. Very...Very nice work you did.

Battleship Harlow, Salisbury System, Bretonia

A Paladin touched down on the flight deck, and out climbed the young Lieutenant, Austin Goodmen. Pilots crowded around as they watched him walk off the deck in a rather, annoyed way. In his hand he was holding a data-disc, which contained a Transmission he recorded.

He already told the Fleet Admiral about the situation, and was either ignored or no body heard him. Austin proceeded to where the Admiral's where talking about battle plans and missions for the war. He approached the door and was halted by two Marines, who looked like they where fresh out of the Academy.

"Identification Card, Please." One guard said. Austin showed him the card and both Guard's snapped a sharp salute. Which Austin returned.

"Right, please wait while I make your announcement. Sir." the Marine said turning and reaching for the door.

"That won't be necessary, Marine. I can make my own announcement." Austin said pushing the Guard to the side. Before he opened the door, he took his pistol out from his holster and handed it to the Guard. "Hold on to this, and don't bloody lose it."

Then he reached for the door, and pushed it open. Entering the well lit room. A few of the Admirals looked up, only one was looking at the desk. "Lieutenant Austin Goodmen, Suffolks Great Fleet, Paladin Pilot. Currently deployed on the Derby as Leeds Defense. Reporting, Sir's." Austin Said holding a steady salute.

"At ease Lieutenant." It was Nelles. "What brings you here?"

"Sir, As you heard might of heard, I reported to you a transmission about Kusarian's attacking Civilian stations now, Instead of Military stations. That's a breech of Humanitarian laws. If you haven't heard. I have the transmission recording right here." He said holding up his hand that held the recording. "Requesting permission to play it."

"Granted, I would love to see what it says." Nelles replied yet again, the other Admirals looked at each other before looking at the screen. Austin Inserted the recording and played it.

Recording

"Sir's, this Kusarian ship attacked the civilian base of LD-14, while yes it does manufacture Military surplus. It is also home to many civilians, ones that want to stay out of the war. The York was nearby and could have been a much suitable target, in my honest opinion. Luckily the Curnack was on standby and recognized me as wing leader, for the time being, and we drove the Kusari gunboat back to it's hole, where that transmission was received."

"I would like to take Action against this attack against civilians. Those that wanted to stay away from the war. I am unsure of what the causalities are on the station. But I do know of Pilots that have loved ones living there." Austin paused for a brief second, letting the Admirals soak it in.

"That will be all Sir's." He said saluting again, then dropping his salute and turning smoothly he left the room. He could hear a few of the Admiral's laughing. However, this wasn't a laughing matter. If Civilian stations are getting targeted now, with the acceptation of Glasgow and Stokes Smelter, Then more lives are being put at risk by the Kusarian's, who weren't following any Humanitarian treaties.

He thought to himself on the way out, It does seem Kusari is losing their grip, and their Honor. He sighed. Knowing the moment he was back on Leeds the Press would be waiting.

Terry sighed lightly, Not today He thought, apparently the data stream was to large for him to hack and download. Or perhaps something else was going on.

He rolled around to another computer and sent a Message to Austin.

Alright, seems the download took awhile and it seems It's been interrupted, that computer has also shut down randomly. I'll have to look into it further. Until then this is going to be the last message I send you. When I get any information I'll send it your way. Hopefully.

And all Her Majesty's men - Wolfs Ghost - 04-19-2009

Moving quietly, Shade Yuka entered the Majesty's Bar and Grill a planetary side Bar on New London. It wasn't a very popular bar, do to the fact they don't serve hard drinks. Nor was it an officers club.

Walking through the first set of doors he could hear thumping of a beat going. They where playing new age music, a short of..Techno and Rap mix. He smiled lightly and continued through the second set of doors, it got louder.

------

Austin looked over after have a third drink of water, watching a pilot with Bretonian and Kusarian facial accents walk in smiling. He sighed and muttered to himself "Strange place this galaxy has become." He sat down the glass and spun around in the stool, looking at the people dancing. Something else caught his eye, a young man wearing a re-breather, an Outcast, a rather Young Outcast, leaning on the wall to the left, the Halfbreed walked around past the Outcast. He shook his head again, Tonight might be a freak show. He thought letting his eyes wander some more.

------

Shepherd was leaning against the wall. This was his first time back from Malta after a few weeks. He took a deep breath and inhaled the sweet orange dream. His senses heightened, and he took a quick glance at both the Halfbreed and the guy sitting in the stool. Upon collecting his thoughts rather quickly he concluded one was a Freelancer, and the other was an Armed Forces Officer. He also concluded that the Armed Forces pilot was wondering what an Outcast was doing in a bar. Shepherd only smiled and let his eyes drift out onto the dance floor.

As if spaced out he could feel someone bumping into him, he came back to reality and brought up his clinched fist, slamming it into the person that bumped into him. It all happened slowly in his reality.

------

Shade moved past an Outcast and accidentally bumped into him. When suddenly a sharp pain entered near his stomach. He coughed and heard some people scream, then another pain hit him in the back, Shade hit the floor hard, the next thing he knew was someone driving their foot into his sides, and hearing a cracking sound.

------

Austin turned quickly enough to see the Outcast down the Halfbreed. He stood up then rushed past the crowd that was forming. Once he got through he saw the Outcast kicking the downed man, who was starting to cough up blood. Moving quickly to aide, he tackled the Outcast, then pinned him down to the ground, his knee on the Outcasts chest. He brought up his fist and landed one punch to the Outcasts throat, then took his hand and hit the Outcast in the temple, knocking him out.

Just as the Security Guards made it, Austin was kneeling down next to the Halfbreed checking for his pulse, he was alive, thankfully. As was the Outcast.

"What the hell happened here?!" A Guard Shouted. "Austin! What the hell have you done!?"
Austin looked up at the Guard, "I broke up the bloody fight, that's what I did."
"You also knocked out a bloody guy!"
"He's a bloody Outcast! No one cares about men of his type." Austin replied calming down.
"Bah. Put the Outcast in handcuffs and get that...man that's bleeding a Medic." The Guard said sighing lightly

Austin groaned and rolled over, slamming his hand down on the table. "Play..." he muttered aloud, not bothering to get out of bed.

Cannot play, Message is in text

He sighed "Bloody hell...if it's not important why'd you wake me up, you bloody computer."

I am not bloody at the time, Mr. Goodmen. But you do have a Message waiting.

"Right, right...smartass computer." He muttered sitting up and blinking a couple of times to clear his blurry vision. He stood up and walked over to the computer and sat down. "Open." He muttered watching as the message opened infront of him

Austin shook his head and closed the message. "I'll reply to that later, am I on duty today?" He asked his computer, which replied.

Negative. However, you are expected to show up for a Briefing later today. It is urgent, as you've set it to priority one.

He mumbled lightly "How urgent is priority one?"

You've set it to the top of your list. I would consider that pretty urgent.

"You're also a computer. You see everything as urgent, unless I program it to be, not urgent."

I don't follow what you're trying to establish.

Austin sighed again, "Right. When and what time is the briefing?"

Twenty Minutes ago.

"Bloody hell, why didn't you wake me an hour ago?!" He said rushing over to the cabinet and pulling out his Armed Forces Uniform.

You told me to shut up. I was only doing as told.

"Right, well next bloody time, when it's urgent, priority one urgent, and I tell you to shut up...Keep annoying me eh!?" He shouted "Now where the bloody hell are my boots?"

You're boots would be near the door.

"Flight boots?"

Yes, those would be the correct ones.

"I would rather have the boots that go with my Dress Uniform, not my pilot suit."

Those would be in the bathroom.

He mumbled as he walked to the bathroom "Why the hell would they be in here?" He shook his head once he picked up both of the boots and slipped them on. Standing straight he looked at the Mirror, his hair was slightly messed up. But he didn't care. Smiling he stared at the reflection of the Carina Cross, the highest honor in the Armed Forces, that was only given out to two people. He was one of them.

You admire things to much.

Austin groaned and left the bathroom, "Yeah well if you where a Human you'd love a shiny object on your chest. So can it will you?"

You gave me the order to not 'can it'. So I shall not.

"Right, go...and do what you always do when I'm not here." He said muttering. Austin made his way to the door. After opening it and closing it, he made his way to the Space port, He decided it wasn't the best idea to take his personal ship. Instead he took a Transport bound for the Derby. Priority One, he called the vessel.

Upon entering he stood in the isle and stared. Everyone looked up from there random talking, one person stood and shouted "Officer on the deck!" and snapped a salute, everyone else soon followed. One of the flight attendant's leaned close to Austin and mumbled "They're as green as grass."

Austin whispered back. "I thought this was priority one."
"It is."
"Then...oh, I see. They want these chaps in the air."
"Aye."

"Alright, At ease, back to what you where doing." Austin said loudly, saluting and dropping his salute. The recruits returned back to their seat's and went back to what they where doing. Austin made his way to his normal seat, which wasn't occupied by anyone, but surrounded by a horde of recruits. He sat down and sighed lightly as a few recruits started talking about him. In a good way.

And all Her Majesty's men - Wolfs Ghost - 04-21-2009

Austin slammed his fist down.

"Honor?!" He said standing, "Kusari has no honor! If Kusari had honor, Civilian transports and Civilian structures wouldn't be attacked."

"Kusarian's pride themselves upon their honor, they should be respected." Someone said. Austin only snapped back.

"If we give Kusari respect they'll wipe the floor with us!" He said
"Like they already are?" Someone muttered loud enough for Austin to hear.

"The bloody war is still waging, I don't see how you see Kusari winning the war! They failed to take all of Tau-23, all of Tau-31, and by gods will they fail to take Leeds!"

"The Lieutenant has a point. Kusari did fail to take those areas. We have a straight shot at the Kusarian supply line."
"Aye, we do. We also have a straight shot to the Tau Contruction sight."
"However, the only bloody thing between us and that station are the Colonials."

Austin sighed. "The Colonials are cowards and fools, hiding behind IMG. The Armed Forces and Outcast Forces won that battle, mind you. You chaps should be cheering that we had a major victory in the Taus. Let alone a Major victory here in Bretonia recently. Where we captured a Commander."

"That was only by luck."
"How was it by luck?! Yes we lost the Steadfast in the fight, but Admiral Nelson was rescued before Kusarian forces got to him."

"Then what do you propose Lieutenant?" Another person, who was quiet the entire time spoke out.

"Right, It's pretty bloody obvious that the Privateers' are doing jack behind the frontlines. Regular's had to mount a rescue operation for an Admiral that went rogue, which lead to a bloody four hour conflict, that we eventually won with heavy losses.

We need to do tactical strikes on the supply lines in the Tau's. The Privateers' failed. It's obvious with the Mercenary attacks on us Regulars. We're suppose to be fighting a bloody war, not worrying about our lives during times of no conflict."

"Mercenaries have always been part of wars. Just because..." Austin cut the guy off.

"Just because, That's all you ever say. Is just because." He snapped. "Just because what? Hm? Just because the Privateers' failed? Just because Kusari has upper Leeds? Just because we lost the Steadfast? Huh?" The person he cut off fell silent.

"At this bloody rate we'll be fighting a war we can't win." Austin said, rather calmly now. "Kusari will just keep pushing into Leeds, though it might take them another three years or so. They'll capture the Planet and our forces Planet side will be forced to fight a Gurillera war. Once Leeds falls the only bloody place left is the Crown. We can already consider Edinburgh lost at this point. Our supply line to Tau-31, Dundee, and Tau-23 will be cut. We'll have to rely on smugglers and traders willing to run a blockade. MacDuff and Sterling would fall rather quickly.

An offensive strike on the Tau-31 network would be what we need. It'll keep Kusari thinking twice before stepping in Leeds."

"Then what of the Privateers hm?"

"The Privateers' went rogue. I could careless about those fools. If you where to switch Regulars with Privateers for just one day, one day. Leeds would fall, but the supply lines for the Kusarian's would be cut." Austin said, drawing something with his finger as he finished.

"We would need the Sterling to reinforce the MacDuff, the York can launch a surprise attack by itself into Edinburgh, catch those Gaians off guard. Derby and her wings would be able to push the contested line forwards. I hate to say it but, the Molly Republic can jump into Edinburgh from Dublin and assist the York's forces, while another group of Mollys push past and join up with the Derby's forces.

The Kent, Majestic, and possibly Rodney, can take up defenses near Stokes while our Marine boarding teams take the station. Stokes is hard to hold. But if we can get a mass landing, We're good to go."

A few people laughed. "Lieutenant. That plan will never, work." One of the people spoke out again, it was the one he cut off.

Austin only stared and shook his head. Moments later, after a long silence the bell rang. "Sessions over with, we'll meet up again at a later date. Good job Lieutenant, your starting to sound like a politican." One of the men said walking out from the room.

Austin sighed lightly and leaned against the wall. "Bloody hell. This might be hard after all."
