I have recently expanded the combat guide article to include all player guides. Currently I have added a place to put all economic and money making guides. At this point there is only a mining one and some trade routes (courtesy of xoria), but im hoping for more. So if you think you know something about how to make credits around here, please contribute by writing a guide, contributing to a guide, or copying a guide from the forums (with the author's permission of course).

I like the look of the empty 'Piracy' section. It feels <strike>right</strike> inrp to me. What do you think about a 'What is that roleplaying thing about, and why do we like it?' guide?

There is actually a role-playing guide (of sorts) on the wiki but it needs work on my opinion, so if anyone want to work on it that would be great. Here's the link : http://discoveryfl.com/wiki/index.php?title=Roleplay

Now that's something... I read it so long ago that I already forgot that. But that's a nice one. I'm not sure that if it did contain the complete medical documentation of the 'Lawl-syndrome' that time. Despite the first impression it made me smile real wide.

Heh, well I updated it and added another section to the guides page for generic guides. It is now listed there.

The original article just needs to be formatted better and just have a few things changed here and there.

Apart from that, I am tempted to make a trading guide.

My advice is to mix the basic trading guide with a RP guide, and only list RP routes as well as explaining WHY that route is RP.

Prehaps also have an explination on how to act as a scout for a trader, in there explain stuff relevent to that.

Also explain relevent rules, IE: if the pirate decides to pop you while you're scouting the lane, you're free to re-enter the system to catch your trader (also, your best advised to dock regularly along the way)

Essently: How to be a noob w/o being called a noob (or annoying the hell out of other players)

Nice Spaz, thanks. I will say the section of surviving a pirate encounter where you talk about how to handle a close encounter is a little bit biased though, you might as well have written: "Do whatever the pirate wants".

And N00b, Do Eet!

And Mudd, thanks for the thoughts.

' Wrote:From a pirates point of view, yes, but face it, there is nothing you can do against a bomber. Unless you got a repair ship by your side.
As a very experienced trader I will respectfully disagree. There are other RP approaches and tactics a trader can use. For the most part you cant hope to defeat the bomber (unless you are in a combat transport like a Ptrans, Behemoth, or Ctrans) but you can hope to bargain or escape to safety. I know because I have done it many many times. The majority of the times I have not been able to immediately escape from pirates actually. Also, in the end, the reaction should be determined by RP. I dont want every trader to be RP'd as someone who does whatever a pirate wants, that would be rather monotonous and boring.

No worries. Thanks for writing those though, everything there is good, there can just always be more, and I didnt really expect you to do it.

Someone else follow Spazzy's good example and write a guide!

I know you want to n00blet.
