Can't get in-game. - tansytansey - 06-01-2010
Okay, so yesterday, Freelancer was fine.
Today, I try log in and it takes a very long time to bring up my character list (hangs on the "operation taking longer than requested box for a while)
Then when I try log onto a character, it simply won't load. Hangs on the "operation taking longer than expected" window for so long I get impatient and close Freelancer.
I was told that my character was kicked for cheating after I manually closed Freelancer.
I clean installed Freelancer and restarted my PC, still can't access my characters.
Haven't tried any of my other accounts so far, just the one.
Was logging on to ToG|Maya.Tears for any of the server techies reading this.
I do some modding work for 4.86, usually ship and hardpointing stuff sub-contracted to me by Frozen. Usually I'm good at remember to un-do my changes before logging on to the main server but lately I've been slipping and logging on before undoing the changes only to get kicked shortly after for a bad installation. I don't think it's related, since I was playing fine last night and haven't done any modding work between then and now, but I'd figure I'd mention it just in case.

Have you checked your connection speed to the server? A while ago when my ISP was being a bit of a.. Well a real pain in the backside, I had this problem too, I waited for 1/4 of an hour and finally got in, only to find my ping was sitting on 2300..:mellow:. Maybe try restarting your router.
