They said "Here kitty, kitty, kitty...", so I killed them for 55K credits - ArmsAndLegs Guy - 01-21-2013

The NA server held a "Hide and Seek" weekend, where the Tier 6 TD's got an increased credits income of 70% combined with a 3x daily double for XP.

That made a good battle, into a great battle in the M18 Hellcat.

As usual, available in 1080p HD for the full gory details, and includes the complete After Battle Report at the end.

Hothckiss H35 6 kill SW, TG, Lucky, C-H, Ace, Himmelsdorf Standard battle SEA server - ArmsAndLegs Guy - 01-21-2013

After doing 137 battles over the weekend for the SEA server Hunt us Down event, it was time to relax with some pure fun on my own account. Also decided to test the Premium Ammo for Credits, to see how much it really would cost to only use it in battles - i.e. how big a credits loss you make with just premium ammo loaded, even when doing well.

So loaded up the regular hotchkiss Tier II tank (the non-premium french version), and took it into battle. This resulted in a 6 kill, multiple achievement battle, with 110 hits on my tank, for a loss of only 58 % health, due to the enemy using their flak-guns, without aiming.

As for premium ammo for credits, it is definitely not a viable road to only use premium ammo for credits, even in the low tiers. Despite a good result, the credits intake ended up negative in 5 digit numbers. So the result will be far worse when you go to the higher tiers, where the ammo is more expensive. Loading 4-6 premium rounds for credits is probably the best way to go, when you want to have some of the higher penetration rounds, to take care of those bouncy targets you meet.

Stopped playing my S51 around 7.5. So decided to get it back today, and I must say. I like it.

T28 Prototype 6 kills Ruinberg Standard battle NA server Post patch 8.3 - ArmsAndLegs Guy - 01-23-2013

People often complain about the lack of speed in the T28-prototype, but if you acknowledge its lack of speed, and play the tank as a close defence, long range sniper, on the map and battle types where it is appropriate, it excels.

A Standard type battle on the Ruinberg map, is a typical example. The map has a lot of upwards and bumpy terrain features, all of that slowing down the T28 prototype. But when you are lucky enough to get a team that understands that both flanks need cover, staying close to the base is a viable option. In this battle, starting on the north base, I helped by sniping from the base corner, and later in the battle, keeping an eye on the minimap, so I could return back to the base, in case of enemy tanks moving up to cap.

The battle resulted in a Top Gun award with 6 kills, even though I hadn't moved more than 880 meters during the battle. 4 of those kills on tanks that had gotten through the town center and moved up to the cap zone, and the last 2 kills on tanks at the mid center.

So sometimes a slow tank that appears to be "camping" is actually doing what it is supposed to do. But that doesn't mean the majority of tanks should stay at the base and camp. Au contraire, 1, or 2 people covering the base, while still being able to take out targets at a distance is most often enough for safekeeping of the base.
Again, it depends on the battle type, the map, and the spawn point, with a lesser degree on what kind of tank you are in.
Watch the battle, and see how it unfolds, to see an example of both the T28 Prototype used appropriately with its advantages and disadvantages taken into account, and an example of "correct" camping (if there is such a thing).

The reason i say ELC is not a scout, but fast attack tank right here. Watch and laugh. First kill was a T-50 airborn kill.

That comet...

I have no words to describe that.

On the other hand, that t-50 kill wasn't as epic as I had thought it would be. He hardly lifted of the ground!

20K no prem for a tier 3. Just great. And average game is 3-5 minutes only. It is a slower, but stronger Marder. 40MM front and rear armour actually bounces stuff, and with 75MM gun can hurt tier 5's which are highest it meets, but rarely.

RE: World of Tanks - Dashiell - 01-23-2013

Man, that Comet failed even harder than I usually do. Altough I did have a weird moment today: i blocked a point blank shot with my gun barrel. and I even planned to do so. too bad his next shot still killed me. Q_Q
