I have bouth a name change certificate. my characters name is Dick_jones and i like to change it to mercenary Dick_jones or [MerC] Dick_Jones

Sell the name change certificate to get your 2 million credits back.
Then open the chat window and type /renameme [MerC]-Dick_Jones
You will be kicked from the server, but when you log back on you're name will be changed and the 2 million credits will have dissapeared from your ship.
