ID/IFF advice - Tunicle - 10-02-2011

Hi, I have spent about 150 hours on server now with FL characters, mainly avoiding pirates and giving the odd help to miners under attack by hostile NPC's.

I am just about to ID/IFF one of the ships in a "lawful" role but do not wish to embarrass myself with RP/IFF type mistakes that upset so many.

No real interest in military role or BHG approach, more the outraged citizen aka Batman type mentality.

Police seem to have restricted ZOI, I cannot see any universe wide agency so am moving to Vigilante. I note they need a lawful IFF.

Will the FL IFF do with vigilante ID? (I see pirates with this but pirate/smuggler ID which seem allowable.)

Will the "Wasupa" VHF be suitable? (I know it flies a lot in Kusari, but does not seem limited to that region.)

ID lists bases including Neutral, is that only the Shrine or am I confusing what a neutral base is?

Apologies for the preamble and the three questions in one post, I know people like short ones :$

Both should work perfectly fine for what you want to do. I think you can easily ignore that Neutral base, thats the Shrine and the bases in Connecticut ;)

Thank you.

Wasupu is Sirius-wide civilian.
And you can use BHG IFF with the Vigilant ID, so your ZoI will be everywhere. As was said in the past by admins it is not okay for Vigilant ID to use FL IFF as it is not a lawful one.

Ah, conflicting opinions? Any definitive answer, looked in threads and seems a bit vague, for example in http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...c=97763&hl= and http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...97561&st=10 it was thought yes to FL IFF.

I got a Vigilante with Freelancer IFF.

Never had problems.
Freelancers in general are considered quasi/semi-lawful.

But to find a cause why you are a 'vigilante' what you 'defend' or 'fight' for.

Edit: http://www.discoverygc.com/wiki/index.php/Zenaida_Tantalo - Is the Vigilante.

Edit 2: Vigilantes are also considered semi-lawful, for those that don't know that. Since sometimes Navy just can't stand them.

Can't be bothered finding the thread, but it was done in green letters (aka by admins) that Vig ID with FL IFF is NOT okay.

searched Zelot, Igiss, JihadJoe, and Zelot for any post with the word "vigilante" in it. None of the threads they were in had a reference to the freelancer IFF.

searched for any post in Sanction Reports, no references to Freelancer IFF (but a lot of lolwuts with corsair gunboats?)

Searched every thread for "vigilante", but was too lazy.

I'd say at this point it's a disproven (or at least never written) urban legend.
