Barrier Gate Assembly - Dab - 06-29-2012

The large marketplace aboard Barrier Gate had been cleared and transformed into a large assembly hall, a small stage with a microphone occupied the front of the room. Evelyn Foster watched as a small group of Barrier Gate's regular residents were already starting to fill up the room, awaiting the arrival of the rest of the participants. The assembly had been called for any Freelancers and Mercenaries interested or concerned about the recent events with the Independent Miners Guild's attempt to take over the system. This was just the public side of the several, separate, diplomatic negotiations going on behind the scenes by Evelyn and the Reavers, each working their particular set of contacts.

Tobi Reaper walked in with a corcerned look on his face. He leaned against the back wall looking about to see who else would join in this "little chat" about the IMG, the fact that this is one of the more accessible stations to meet up made him wonder about that although being armed with a pistol and a few stun grenades gave him a bit of relief.

The smell of bad body odour quickly spread around as a small mob of Pete's followers entered the marketplace.
It was about twenty of them, their vulgar swearing and bad physical hygiene caused quite the disturbance amongst the regular inhabitants.

In their midst , flanked by two masked bodyguards uncle Pete walked up to the centre of the marketplace.

Confusion was present in the mind of the docking controller sitting above one of Barrier Gate's docking bays.

"Freelancer 683, requesting docking permission to Barrier Gate"
"Freelancer 683, we have no visual - squawk 1533 and ident"
"Apologies Barrier Gate", said Louis as he decloaked, and proceeded with the docking maneuvers

Louis eyed the perimeter of the marketplace as he made a mental note of the exits. He then took an unassuming position about a meter from a wall, between two exits.

"Salut, damnes de guilde", he mumbled to himself.

A young Kusari gentlemen, perhaps aged 25 or so, entered into the assembly hall via a western placed entrance. He glanced across at the already-gathering crowd and made a note of the exits. Something had stirred up the wild spirit of Coronado, and he wanted to know what it was. The information gleaned here could possibly even be used against other various groups.

Davis looked out of the bar window. The dock was crowded. More so then usual. Since the Guilds announcement a steady stream of visitors had been spending time aboard the Gate. He took a sip of his drink, deep in thought he couldn't quite fully banish the feeling that this situation was being used somehow.
Mind you. In his mind anything that persuaded the Guild to forget about these guidelines was a good thing. He finished his drink and walked into the assembly room

A well dressed man entered the marketplace flanked by a Kusarian. The girl turned to the man "Mister Goth, I'm telling you now that this will never happen again, I only escorted you here because I was already on my way. Next time I intend on collecting the bounty." "Well of course Madam Ueda, and if you feel that you can defeat my Liner, I beg you to try." The man let out a chuckle as the Kusarian joined the crowd, waiting for whatever it was to start.

Izzy stepped down from the [i]Eventide, smoothing her skirt. Never could get it to look good when coming out of the pilot's seat. She sighed, brushing some hair from her eyes as she headed for the assembly area. Of course, a few people arrived. But, a few can make a difference, for good or for worst.
Izzy stepped into the market place, surprised at the transformation. Smiling slightly, she found a stall that was pushed against the wall. Whipping the worst of the debris from it, she hopped onto it, legs crossed. Now, to listen.
The Kusarian caught her eye; if she wasn't already waiting for Andi to call her back, she'd head over. Oh well.
Izzy checked her comm for a message from Andi before resuming checking around. Maybe this would come to nothing. Maybe not.

Evan K'vori entered the assembly area with a yawn, glancing around at the gathering crowd. It certainly
was more packed than he had anticipated, although he recognized no-one in the room.
He took a swig from a black flask, stepped off to one side, and leaned against the wall,
checking his wrist-comm from time to time as he waited for the 'show' to start.

Leo van Pelt walked briskly from the Independable's docking bay to the marketplace. Shame the vendors aren't here, he muttered to himself, for he had wares to pawn off. Leo installed himself to a side of the impromptu meeting hall, observing the going ons and wondering to himself if anything would be accomplished by the rag tag bunch.
