USE AT OWN RISK WITH DISCOVERY MOD! THERE WILL BE BUGS!

The Swag Pack's goal is to enhance the graphics and sounds of Freelancer with generally keeping the vanilla feel. See credits below for included content.

December 2018 Update

As I have recently reinstalled Freelancer and Discovery, I thought it would be a good idea to kinda recompile 2 versions of this pack as I'm trying to play both Vanilla and Discovery. I also followed a guide on Reddit that allowed me to get it working on Windows 10. I recommend following it as well if you're looking into playing the single-player campaign. Freelancer Vanilla The Swag Pack includes stuff I know is broken within discovery which includes the realistic lighting mod, HD asteroid textures, spinning planets, and engine trails. Freelancer Discovery The Swag Pack is just the standard pack you know and love. Both packs have removed the cursor and bloom. Both packs also have the updated audio files in. I also included the AgencyFB font in both packs just in case you're having problems on Windows 10. So here ya go!

PRO TIP FOR CAMPAIGN PLAYERS
Avoid Jason's Freelancer Patch until you finish Mission 12 if you are playing the campaign. I learned the hard way.

MUST HAVE FIX FOR CAMPAIGN:
(08-24-2020, 12:19 PM)Pakundo Wrote: So, thanks to the friendly folks over at the Freelancer Galactic Community discord channel, I found the exact cause for this problem:
Go to Freelancer\DATA\UNIVERSE\SYSTEMS\ST01\st01.ini, search for [Object], and lookat the line that says: "nickname = St01_01_Base"
Delete "_Base" from that, and you'll be left with: "nickname = St01_01".
That's it, the mission will now work properly.

Why is this the solution? Because if you'll look into Freelancer\DATA\MISSIONS\M12\m12.ini, you'll find a reference to St01_01 in the mission triggers for Von Claussen's dialogue after defeating the Nomad ships, and in the trigger to actually land on Toledo. Previously, it referenced a nickname that didn't exist, so naturally the mission script encountered an error, and froze.
So there you have it, that was the problem, and mentioned above is the solution.

I hope that helped.

That's awesome!

Now, coming to the 'belong' argument.
Seeing how these people didn't own the copyright of the things they tunned, how is it that you need permission from them?

Mainly common courtesy, it's like /v/lancer using Disco ship models without asking for them

RE: My Beautiful Freelancer Configuration - Beauenheim - 05-06-2013

Right, I'm going to message them all, or try to, unless anyone has their contact info to see if I'm able to post it with their permission.

As Haven said, the last thing we want is everyone calling the people at Disco thieves.

RE: My Beautiful Freelancer Configuration - glassofwater - 05-06-2013

Would love to have my hands on a working copy of this. Freelancer's graphics get kind of old after many hours of playing.

RE: My Beautiful Freelancer Configuration - Gypsie - 05-06-2013

Sounds legit Haven. But modifying a product which you have no rights to, and then laying claim to the modified version, is kinda awkward. I mean, if you're all about accessibility, you can't complain later, right? Perhaps I'm missing something. If not it's just an ego war.

RE: My Beautiful Freelancer Configuration - Beauenheim - 05-06-2013

I contacted each developer through Youtube, Moddb, Discovery, and The Starport.

Let's hope they say yes, I'm eager to release this to you all.

RE: My Beautiful Freelancer Configuration - Deeceem - 05-06-2013

Looks really nice. Wouldn't mind to have a look at this myself. Well, let's see if you can upload a pack in the future.

That looks pretty good.
