And can anyone answer my question? Yes or no on the 1440 x 900 @ 60Hz RES?
DPI where do we find this on computer ?
For your Resolution try it. And before changing the files copy and paste them all in a separate data. So you don't have to re-install if it doesn't work.
And as for the menues, it's a limitation, after using it for half a year or more I just do my buisness before I logout, usually on my Trader I buy the next shipment before logging.
' Wrote:Firstly, this involves modifying game files so always remember to make a backup before you change any files. (IE, copy it to somewhere else as well etc)
There you are, not my own work obviously but it is an oh so easy way of getting Freelancer to use whatever resolution you wish, including widescreen.
This worked great. I just picked up a 22" monitor and was worried it wouldn't look right.

Looks exactly as it does on my monitor. I don't like how far the menus are away from the edge of the screen.
Looks yuck!:P

' Wrote:This worked wonderfully for me in 4.84, but now in 4.85 it doesn't. I made the modifications from a fresh install to be sure.
Anyone else having trouble? Anyone have a solution?
You did something wrong, try retracing your steps. My notebook plays in 1440x900 without problems, and I've performed the changes exactly like adviced, except for the different resolution. Worked both in 4.84 and now in 4.85.
One thing that springs to mind is the freelancer.ini under EXE directory. It's a read only file. Did you unprotect it before changing the resolution? Did you protect it again after? I noticed FL might change it back to 1024 if this is not done, possibly leading to a conflict. Oh, and never touch visual settings within the game after you changed file contents by hand.
Other than that, I'm not using enb bloom effects, if it has anything to do with it.
Quote:1) Go to my documents > my games > freelancer and open prefoptions in notepad. At the bottom it will say [Display] and underneath size= change it to 1680, 1050 or what ever widescreen resolution you use. Not the space in between the 1680, 1050. Now save and exit.
