Hi, I don't want to re-re-re-re-re-open a discussion, I am just curious if I can get some form of semi-/quasi official clarification on why no steps have been taken to remove botfeeding?
Is it because the coding is tricky? The balance? Is it because botfeeding is a wanted feature by devs(!!!!!)? Is it because you trust players to be classy and not do it?
I'm guessing either there is actually no one in the dev team active to make such a decision and go through with the work required, or they won't change it because they care too much for the people who do it themselves although they criticize it for others relying on the fact that they are better at influencing opinions over people.

I think it was planned to either removed bots and add their extra hull equal (especially for caps), or to make different bot types. Also, I suppose there were ideas about a "repair gun" for the repair ship.
In the end, botsharing wasn't considered as too harmful to give it a high priority I say.
I totally agree, but "player issues" aren't fixable.
The way I view it, devs should try to set the stage with balance and whatnot the best they can, so people can use what's available to them without so many rules - written or unwritten.
That is of much higher importance to me than lights, engine colors, Gallia, PoBs, Cloaks and the list goes on, because - at least in my experience - in a tight spot chivalrous ideals go down the drain and players use what they have available to them.

I firmly believe that they considered wrong.
How to make them re-consider?
But I love flying the repair ship in Cap fights. :<
A long time ago, a dev talked about the possibility of a repair beam ship TF2-style(!)
The game was designed this way, if you don't like it just move away or accept the nanobot/shield batt, transfer during fights. It's part of the game.
I swear these forums are getting full of whining posts about the game lately. Change this, change that, I don't like this or that.
Yeah I am fine with sharing b/b being part of the vanilla game.
But... Caps and transports were added to the Discovery mod without any thought, seemingly, of how it can be a game spoiler, and sharing quickly became feeding. Or they simple trusted players not to take advantage of it, as Garrett suggests.
Maybe that could be reconsidered?
EDIT: I'm not proposing fair duels and all that, but in a 3 v 1 snub brawl you might have the chance to take one of the badguys out before getting killed yourself, but with the amounts of b/b onboard gunboats/transports/cruisers/etc. there's no way of having any success, short of finding ways to insta. Even though you don't stand a chance in a 3 v 1, it might feel that way and make the combat fun and exciting, whereas a big fat ship spewing 500 b/b out to his mates leaves no other choice but to log off and go do something else.
Botfeeding is simply a thing that makes a fight more 'unfair'. Much like a cap assisting a fighter. In the case of botfeeding, your opponent has to accept the botfeeding, so he agrees to making the fight unfair. He might as well choose not to take the bots.
In a RP environment, fair fights can not be guaranteed. If you want completely fair fights, Conn is a valid option.
The only problem I could see about that is the repair ship, but we were already discussing about that a little.
The choices the 'victim' has would be to either flee, seeing that the odds of the fight just turned against the 'victim'. Alternatively, the 'victim' can try to prove superior skills and keep on fighting, giving you a chance to win anyway.
