Natalie enters the lounge calmly, closing the door behind her as she slowly moves behind the counter where the coffee machine is, shoving Brian away to get some space to make her own drink.
"Congratulations, Admiral Brooks."
She pauses as she pours her coffee into her mug without moving her vision away from the mug, putting a couple of sugar cubes into it. She then takes her mug and moves away from the counter, stopping a few feet away from Brooks. Taking a sip as she them moves her eyes towards her, Ignoring the lieutenant near her.
Victor entered Wellington base. The air was warm and the evening sun gave the room a pleasant orange glow. New London's spires in the background adding to the sunset. After the day's patrol, a coffee was in order.
Coffee in hand, he took up a position at the far end of the sun drenched room, he sat down and gazed out the windows for a few moments before picking up a nearby Newspaper.
Unsurprisingly, the war was in every page. Frustrated he threw the paper down and was about to leave before he spotted a book on a nearby desk, clearly someone had left it. Seeing no harm he picked it up and began to read.
Soon the sun began to sink low beneath the spires and Victor had reached the end of his coffee. He sat back and gazed at final dying of the light, feeling considerably more relaxed.
At same time Sid enters to the base and he orders a tea. Then he sits not very far to Victor's place and reading a journal he drinks his drink. Every time that he browses the journal, he surprises about news and starts to thinking about his recent facts.
His phone rings, he answers to the call and after few minutes he finish, returning to read the journal. His cup of tea was empty now.
Victor ceased reading, taking note of the new arrival. A Lieutenant Commander, Fire, if he remembered the name correctly. For a time nothing was to be done, the Commander had given no indication that he was looking for company. However, the Phone call that had just happened sounded......Odd.
It wasn't his place to pry on a senior officers personal life. Still, Perhaps the commander could offer some insight to the war, as much as he wanted to forget it, he also wanted it over. Who better to ask than his superiors?
Getting up he made his way past the Lieutenant Commander, intending to get a fresh cup of coffee, but upon passing he noticed that the CO's cup was empty, taking his chances he asked: ''Would you like another, sir?''
Sid looks the Lieutenant with a satisfied look. After few milliseconds that seem so long, he smiles.
"Ah... no thanks, I'm fine".
His look returns to the journal and when he finished to read it, he return to previously page and starts to look a precise news that keeps his motionless on that article. He browsed the journal nomore like before.
Victor no longer felt inclined to commune with the officer any longer and wandered past him back to the coffee machine. After refilling his cup he returned to his seat and picked up the book he was reading. Still he could not shake the feeling that this new arrival was somehow....troubled. He dismissed the thought as quickly as it came, not his place to pry. Indeed, all he wished for was peace and quiet.
Yet his eyes wandered back to the Officer that had arrived, Victor could not help but feel nervous around him, why he could not say, but the man carried an uneasy air about him. Again the thought was dismissed, perhaps another would come along, or perhaps Lt commander Fire would become slightly more....Approachable.
Sid finished to read that article. He gets up and he's coming out from the bar. At that moment he makes another call, this time out of the bar for not disturbing who wanted to rest in peace in that local, in that little free time that a Bretonia Armed Forces soldier would have...
The call ends and this time he's going to stay there. He seemed undecided, if to come back to the bar or to go away...
Victor sat back down and began reading again, a short time later the other man got up a moved toward the bar, as he did so he made another call that lasted briefly. Victor quietly looked over to see Commander Fire looking somewhat undecided as to what he should do next.
''Everything alright there sir?'' he asked ''You looked troubled, do you need a hand with anything?''
