Matsubara Miju, born into a middle-class family faithful to the old traditions and their services as servants of the [NAME REDACTED] family. Due to the nature of their employees, Miju was leaded into the world of "behind the scenes" dealings at the early age of 13 already. She stayed with the tasks and jobs she had for four years until her father had to go back to the Naval Forces after years of retirement. That was the day when Miju decided to do something more than just help out the economy, skittishly she went out to explore the different worlds on the surface of Honshu, ending up with empty pockets and an addiction to Cardamine but also with a huge knowledge about what Kusari currently is under the new Republic. She knew what to do and where to go to as next, seeing a chance to finally do more with her life.
Due to your stated skills in espionage, you might be very useful for our cause, however, I demand you to work on your Cardamine addiction, we do not tolerate that in our empire. If it is needed, I will help you personally with stopping this horrible drug addiction, you are accepted under this condition.

A biography of you:
Kaori has been born as the first child of two farmers living near a smaller city on Planet Kyushu. Soon the young girl was introduced to the profession of their parents, as harvesting rice and some few other crops was the major income of the family. So she spent a larger part of her childhood out on the fields, and soon brothers and sisters who were born into this world joined her.
And so Kaori's early years passed by, telling a not so exciting story that could belong to many other farmer offsprings. But as time went by, the family grew and Kaori got older, she felt the need to leave farm and family behind, as, out there, a world infinitely greater than the rural areas of Kyushu waited. Also, the political developments of the time were not unnoticed – tensions building up between Bretonia and Kusari, and it seemed as if the leaders had set course for war already. With Kyushu being a world close to the soon-to-be war zone, there was a realistic probability that the fight could come to her, if she would not come to the fight. Those and other reasons did their part in convincing Kaori to leave her family, and her homeworld. As she was the oldest child, and a woman too, there of course was some discussion: Her parents' plan for her was rather to take over the farm when they would not be able to take care of it anymore, but not to head out into the world to become a warrior of the emperor. During the discourses, both parties discussed trough several nights, and one or two vases have been destroyed. But in the end, none of this mattered, as Kaori took the initiative, used her authority as oldest offspring to have her siblings back her, and left with nothing but a short goodbye. For the parents, there was nothing but to accept that her daughter would soon be part of the storm that was coming.
Soon after enlisting for the Naval Forces and finishing the basic training, the war with Bretonia finally broke out, and the freshly trained Kaori was assigned to serve on the Nagasaki, together with a mix of young as well as experienced pilots who were to form the new 35th „Meiji“ reconaissance squadron. During her time at the frontline she gathered friends as well as experience as the pilots headed out for field reconaissance duties, special missions or just as the occasional counter attack of the Bretonian forces mad an alert launch necessary. It was certainly often a dangerous and hard time, but Kaori mostly experienced it as a good one, alongside her comrades, even sometimes after a mission there was one less spot occupied at the ship's bar.
And then, the real hell broke loose.
When the new Gallic threat turned up and the majority of the Imperial forces were withdrawn from the battlefield and the Emperor himself as well as the few assets remaining in Bretonia and the Taus were essentially cut off there was a time when those rests of the fleet were like a chicken without a head. Fighters had been shot down because they just did not receive clear orders from flight control, ships stranded in no man's land because of the lack of fuel supply. And Kaori? Well, she and three others were simply lost after they retourned from trying to scout a path for the fleet trough the Taus, just to find that the Nagasaki had left its position without anybody notifying the pilots. In the chaos, it was hard for the pilots to even create a plan so they knew what to do. For some time, they roamed the systems, taking supplies from the wreckages of former comrades. Two of Kaori's wingmen were shot down in the void of Tau-31, as a Gallic patrol surprised them as they pumped H-fuel from a badly damaged Chimaera into their tanks. Kaori and the other survivor then took up the fight against the enemy patrol though being outnumbered, just because they did not know what else to do – they were low on fuel as well as oxygen, and they hadn't had something to eat in three days. The fight went on for a while, leading the participants through the ice clouds of the system, until a poorly executed evasive maneuver made Kaori's fighter hit one of the spiky ice blocks. For a moment, Kaori lost all control over the vessel, which started to drift around as if it already was shot down. That was what might have saved her life at the expense of another, as the Gallic pilots – presumably low on nerves and willing to finish the battle – set their focus for the other Chimaera, quickly flying away from her ship. While she managed to restart the flight computer, a quick system check showed most functions, including the weapons, were not operational. And she certainly could keep pace with the little fur ball of ships around his comrade, and so she limped away. Without a plan, without company and without the resources to get any of both.
Somehow, with a lot of luck and scavenging, Kaori actually managed to get to the Freeport in Tau 37, deciding to hide there for a while, trying to figure out what to do next. As the call to arms from the Emperor himself, over three or four corners of course, reached her one evening in the station's bar, it was clear that she would use the chance to get back to the Imperial fleet, as it was clear that hiding under the veil of the Zoners could not be what she wanted to do for the rest of her life, and as there were certainly some issues of the past to solve.
Following this call and the reunification with the Imperial Forces, Kaori was shortly briefed about the current state of affairs and then immediately put back into service. While this often time still encompassed her fulfilling her role in combat reconnaissance squadrons or deep-in-the-field scouting groups, due to the inherent lack of combat ready personnel deployments saw her more and more often as part of frontline combat units, engaging in full on engagements with Gallic and Republican forces and the occasional hit and run strike deeper into Kusarian territory.
This continued for several months, until during an operation in the Kyushu system Kaori and her squadron were intercepted and soon outgunned by a Republican response wing. After an ultimately hopeless but prolonged fight, she as well as a few other survivors were picked up and taken prisoners by KNF forces. Following that Kaori does not know what happens to the others, but it is to assume they were intentionally separated and transported to different military facilites. She herself was to spend most of the next 3 years of her life somewhere on Planet Kyushu, where after a myriad of fruitless interrogations she was more or less left to be forgotten in a small dark cell
However, the latest developments regarding the advance of the imperial fleet not only gave Kaori new hope, but also a clear opportunity to take matters back into her own hands: When Imperial units seized control over the planet and thus also the planetside military installations, the woman finally got back her freedom – and a renewed, perhaps stronger than ever will to take up the fight once more. For she had already been to hell and back for her nation, and the point to stop had already passed long ago.
//Please excuse the maybe a little exzessive bio, but this is pretty much a revival of a character I already played about 3 years ago, so I just transfered alot of the earlier developments
Squished bigly ~Champ- Thanks, you're a champ. "What's the word for when it feels inside your heart that everything in the world is all right?"
What a story you provided there, I see you also have dealt with the Gauls before, it was a good deed, that you were released from prison on Kyushu and that your will has become stronger. You are hereby accepted into our ranks, report on the Nagasaki.
Why you want to join our cause:It is the only cause I have ever known; I do not want Kusari's legacy to be that of the weak-willed Republic that left us, their brothers, to die at the hands of the Gauls. Let us restore Kusari to its proper status, and show we have never surrendered!
Specific skills or traits:Supply chain management, navigation (strategic navigation (large scale) and tactical navigation (in-system evasion and tactics)), and small-craft combat.
A biography of you:
One of two sons born of a GMG Wing Commander, my brother, Yeggito, and I spent little time planetside, and much on various stations in and around the Crow nebulae. We grew up learning to fly in the azure clouds, becoming adept at navigation with limited visual inputs, and becoming keen on flying small craft through less than ideal conditions.
My father commanded a wing of GMG ships, both for protection as well as mining. Yegg took more to combat, whereas I took to, less glamorously, the accounting and logistics of the GMG buisness. While Yegg yearned for exploration, I felt much more comfortable in the staccato cadence of the industrial life. When the call for recruitment came for the expansion of our Kusari into the border worlds, I applied, and became a logistics officer for the war effort, one of the youngest they had.
During the advancement into Bretonia, I was stationed aboard the Yamaguchi, ensuring supply lines for H-Fuel were maintained.
When the Gauls severed our route back...the history is known. I was part of the forces who limped back into Council space, but did not stay for long. I was part of a small group that attempted to travel back to Kusari, and negotiate, but we were not welcomed back. I, shamefully, cast aside my affiliation with the Emperor's forces, and was able to land planetside on Kyushu, rebuilding a life. However, I never gave up the cause, and am still, to this day, ashamed of what Kusari has become.
Several years after, I was able to requisition a Sutinga VHF, and have since left Kusari-controlled space, and have worked freelance for several organizations in the Borderworlds.
Yegg, last I had heard, was recruited, along with my father, to train the Blood Dragons in the ways of limited-visibility nebula navigation and combat. On the sad day when the new republic took over, our family's name was somewhat tarnished, and Yegg headed into the Omicrons to escape any retribution from the new government. What came of him, I do not know.
I hope neither our rather questionable relation with the GMG, nor the fact that your family is partly affiliated with the Blood Dragons now, will have an impact on your dedication and service, you are hereby accepted into the 343rd.
