To: Chief Constable Nigel Hutchinson Priority: High Topic: Invitation for a meeting.
Good day to you, Chief Constable
It is with deep regret that I must say I've never actually had the privilege of meeting you. My name is Sir James Cromwell, and I am currently serving in the capacity of a chartered consultant for Borderworld Exports. On their behalf, I would like to arrange an informal discussion with you in relation to the current regulations that pertain to station construction.
I see no reason why such a meeting should not be comfortable, so I have taken measures to arrange for a temporary guest card to be produced that will give you access to The Duchess on New London. Very pleasant, very exclusive. If you would be willing to indulge me, I am more than happy to brief the staff there to expect us at a time of your choosing and convenience.
Yours in service to the Queen
James Cromwell KBE.

The bearer of this bond is cordially invited to The Duchess social club, and hereby granted one-time access to the amenities and privileges of the facility. This pass may be redeemed at the time and choosing of the honoured guest.
Chief Constable Nigel Hutchinson made his way to his office, as he did every day, very early. This allowed him to get a lot of paperwork sorted before all the meetings that seem to take up his day. Today he had the pleasure of Meetings with the Complaints Commission and then the Under-Minister, whatever his name was, who held the Government’s purse strings for his Department, and this was just this morning.
Once he arrived in his Office he headed to the Tea Machine, as he did every morning, and poured himself the first of many cups of Tea that seemed to keep him going throughout the day. Once he had poured his Tea, Earl Grey of course, he headed to his desk and switched on his console so that he could start with the multitude of communications that he always received.
He started glancing at the long list of headings, which included daily reports from every Sector, looking for any that needed his immediate attention. As he scrolled down his eye was drawn to a High Priority, and seeing as it was the first he had seen, he opened it up.
As he started reading it he thought to himself ‘Oh no, not another meeting’! As he read it he started to write notes for his PA, Janet Martin, to action.

‘Always best to be well prepared when going to a meeting with an unknown’ he thought to himself. He sat there a few moments pondering if there was anything else he required. He came to the conclusion that that should sufficient for now.
5) Find me a lunchtime slot in my Calendar and send a response agreeing to the meeting.
With that he sent the message for Janet to pick up when she arrived.
