So recently I was making a research on this matter and it had proven that one can successfully duel a snub with a TSing snub. Yes, it is more challenging to do when you are unable to use TZ (autoaim), but possible.
Yesterday I have tried Eagle vs Camara and it showed that there are possibilities for a snub with TS in such a duel. Need more research on this matter as well as on the group fighting.
But the main reason I am writing is that I have encountered claims that TS, despite being challenging to perform, is still considered as an unfair advantage over those who do not use it. Mind it - TS is not limited to any ship class like TZ is, so, basically, it is available to everyone. It also makes use of VHFs having turrets facing backward.
So please, give in your thought on this matter. How much balance-impact is it? How much legal (again, despite toughness and drawbacks) would you consider it to be?
Just because it can be done doesn't mean people will do it.
You are really exaggerating, though I wish SHFs, due to their huge amount of 360 turrets could indeed use TZ.

@sindroms however, If it can be done by anyone, then people can stop calling nameas on people who use it. It's not their fault the rest are incompetent to fully use what the game has to offer..
Also, there are not so many SHF in game, so that could also work.
@Swallow good show ! However I find it hard to imagine how to fight someone while TS-ing.. Edit: In a fighter that is.
Basically, the same as you ride transport/cap but with no zoom out.
Also, if you recall me flying Spatial, you must have noted that it was indeed crappy and not even TS saved it.
And a small reminder, lets remember that we are talking on steering only, which is NOT an autoaim but an ability to fly your ship in turret mode. In other words - you aim and dodge with different hands.

On this matter I'd also want to ask.
Are the changes into game mechanics which make it work different than in Vanilla, by a dev team consideted as a "opportunities, game have to offer"?
I heared claim that only Vanilla way of fighting is a true way and everything else is pretty much balance-impacting, including TS w/o TZ as well. Thoughts?
They way of fighting is only limited by game mechanics. I'd say if the game lets you choose how you wanna play, I'll take the liberty of playing how I feel more comfortable. If someone doesn't like it, feel free to comment, I'll fell free not to give a rusty dime about it.

Oh right, you reminded me to make a thread about TZ.
On topic though, when I was flying Arrastra with drones back in the day (Yes, with dual missiles) , if I would duel someone I would use TS. Why? Because 3 weapons fire forward and 5 backward.
Now I don't fly SHFs but if I would chances are I'd probably use TS again because it's simply better. On terms of balance it makes SHFs not completely useless like they are since 4.85 apart from small periods of inbalance (like when missiles were OP).
As for fighters - I can't really see it working because they have so much guns and most of them have 0 or 1 turret. It does require mastering the aim though, not easy to hit without zoom out.
