History:
What is currently known as Les Salopards can be dated to the year 500AGS with the creation of Narbonne Base. One of the first inhabitants of the base, Auguste Laurent, soon made a name for himself as a pirate. After a daring robbery of a large EFL convoy, Laurent’s ship was christened Le Salopard. A cult following soon modeled themselves after Laurent, but the man himself continuing to fly solo. In 512AGS, Laurent tried robbing a shipment of high value cargo on its way to Dauphine. Unknown to him, the Royal Police had set a trap. Even Laurent’s reputation wasn’t enough to save him from the strike wing, and Le Salopard was destroyed. To honor Laurent and his achievements, Laurent’s followers named themselves Les Salopards.
After 150 years, the memory of Laurent disappeared, but the group did not. Les Salopards remained relatively small, not a large enough force to gain the eye of anybody. However, in 686, Les Salopards absorbed another small band of pirates based out of Narbonne. This continued until 736AGS until Les Salopards had grown enough to name themselves in charge of the station. However, the group had expanded their view to more than just Languedoc and Dauphine, and needed a more centralized base of operation. Staying in charge of Narbonne, the group moved their HQ on board Besacon Freeport in the Dauphine system. Les Salopards have also shown interest in Planet Marne as a major smuggling outpost.
The current leaders of Les Salopards are Chantal Proulx, Jacqueline Devoudelle, and Eloise Descoteaux. Chantal came into power with Les Salopards from one of the former Patrons, Antoine Proulx; Chantal’s father. Chantal was named as Antoine’s heir, so when he was killed by a Police patrol, Chantal was named as the new Patron.
Devoudelle was originally the head of a gang of thugs working with the Corse and operating out of Gap. As the influence of the Brigands in Dauphine grew, and the Corse and Brigands found themselves working together more frequently to efficiently supply each other, Devoudelle's crew found themselves more preoccupied with "encouraging" small-time criminals to work as crew on smuggling vessels hailing from Valence than with running their own operation. When les Salopards moved into Besançon, he found that his talents were best put to use with the muscle of others backing him up - despite all his success, he never cut an imposing figure. Proulx took a liking to him after her father's passing; now Devoudelle is her right-hand man, the chief Contrafacteur of les Salopards.
Descoteaux made a living with smaller criminal elements by stowing away on shipping vessels and, upon delivery, redirecting the cargo to unregistered dealers. Over time, these groups were absorbed by Les Salopards, and Descoteaux’s prowess as a commercial saboteur won her considerable prestige. Over time she moved from taking point on cargo redirection to coordinating the operations, and now presides as second-in-command over Les Salopards, ranked Corsaire.
Currently, Les Salopards focus on both smuggling Nox for the Corse and pirating anything in sight. They stay loyal to their Gallic allies, but Sirian outsiders befriended by the Legion of the Damned receive no special treatment.
Rank Structure:
Trafiquant/Matelot: The Cheap Stuff
New pilots to Les Salopards. They have little rights and are forbidden from flying anything expensive until they prove themselves in some way. Contrebandier/Boucanier: The Good Stuff
Your typical Salopard pilot. They make up a bulk of the group and can fly almost anything we can get. For those that are worth more than a usual pilot, an Asco's captain's chair waits. Contrafacteur/Corsaire: The Best Stuff
Two of the Triumvirate members of Les Salopards. The most trusted members of the faction and in the absence of La Reine, they rule. Reine des Corsaires: Everything
The Queen of Les Salopards, their word is law. It's in your interests to do what she says.

You're gonna have a bad time with /fi.
Other than that I hope this kicks off, good luck.
We decided we'd rather have a few extra characters in our names than ease of /fi. Thanks for dropping in here, though.
A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.
There's been a rank shakeup, and by shakeup we moved from traditional ranks to titles. Now your character has a title based on what ship you fly and the incentive is more to show off your character's usefulness instead of grinding to rank up
If you would like to join, please message any of our members. We will be making a recruitment thread in the future, but at the moment we're getting the ball rolling
