An official event is not the same as an event started by a single admin.
Official Events have for the most part storyline impact and the devs decided they didn't want the admins to handle these anymore and want oversight over them. While it makes sense it's done this way for storyline consistency, it's another layer of bureaucracy and you can have fun with that for a long time when it's a hot potato bouncing back between people that are simply inactive or trying to do too much while being way too busy irl and ending up doing nothing.
Again, just like 95% of Disco's problems, it's down to the people, not the system.
An event like this one is extremely simple to set up with the event system and is not intended to have any consequence (which means no need to spend hours discussing it with the dev team), hence how it was set up by only one admin in the span of a few minutes. Setting up an official event that involves temporary items/bases, multi side counters and possibly getting in sync with preplanned patch deployments is far from being as simple as that and it's a lot of effort from multiple devs and admins to pull it off successfully.
Fair enough then. I mean at the least if we can get stuff set up this quickly it's good news. I had to make tweaks to the originally document anyway. I'll probably work with Teerin and Co to get it started in the near future.
Sell the stuff for the low price mentioned on your screen then the console will deliver to your pockets some credits automatically
You will be able to see a green message on screen informing you about the process in details once you sell the commodities.
