Alright so..
There is nothing wrong with not using skype for disco in general.
I guess it depends on the person, though it is useful for factions to have a skype communication or other type of communication to co-ordinate things internally easily and with speed. Instant messaging does the trick.
If you do not enjoy the type of environment that the skype group provides and it is harming your attitude and feel for the game you enjoy then sure. You can make that decision to leave. It will be harder though for the faction leader to get a hold of you.
But anyway looking back I do miss the times when i was new and didnt know anyone in disco. That made my experience so much better than now. I didnt know who was behind any of the ships and that made it more immersive for me. I didnt know what to expect inRP and ooRP. That was all part of the real fun. I envy new players for that reason.
In some ways new players should stay off factions for this reason but there are also lots of downsides to that as well.
As to the pvpwhoring in player group shype channels.... I have seen many levels of it. Some come naturally with the patriotic cry out of "We are better than outcasts! We are corsairs!" But yeah then you get the ragers that are like "omg there was a 2v2 and then a 3rd came and ruined the fun omgomgomg."

Learn to suck up the idiocy you encounter without letting it get to you. You will encounter plenty.
Learn to report idiocy successfully and efficiently and in a way that closes the case of idiocy that happened for you. Do it often.
Try to have 1 good/fun interaction for yourself when playing.
Try to offer 1 good/fun interaction to someone else when playing.
And, don't even try to discuss reasonably on the forums.
Never try to discuss idiocy on Teamspeak.
It's a lost cause.
Quote: I'm sure, some people really enjoy PvP that way, and raids of that kind are okay, but they should at least make sense inRP and should not be started because you desperately want to troll some guys you don't like ooRP
I don't know if you think you're the center of the world, but you aren't. I don't know you, I don't dislike you. Same applies for pretty much everyone who has "trolled" you.

lolxd
Quote:Kudos to all those who do forum RP
Quote:another attempt of a poor show here blablabla why then did I buy Solaris Gattlings and Flaks? Those things are especially to kill snubs blablalbalbla so everyone will have fun blablabla don't expect me to not shoot snubs when you come to me and shoot at the snubs that are with me blablabla You should be able to handle PvP within a roleplay behavior that makes sense blablabla If you want fair fights and duels, go to Connecticut blablabla Don't blame other people for using ships that are not the same class as your's blablabla we're here to have fun, and that goes for both sides and everyone involved
Quote:K'hara| does a great job, and I enjoy every encounter with those guys. They don't just pop up with a two liner and kill you. It's just awesome.
Quote: cool features like the Player List, Faction List, PoB-List, the Online Map blablabla You brought a battle group to another battle group blablabla I know what I have to do when I encounter you ingame then blablabla breaking the inmersion
The hypocrisy in this though. Your own words.
Quote:If you're just here to troll this, leave this thread
I'd be trolling if I said that your opinion is irrelevant and you're stupid. I haven't. The moment you post a thread you should be ready to accept that people will disagree with you, and I quote:
Quote:handle behavior that makes sense
If that's trolling for you... Lol. Of course I could be more polite, but that'd go against the stereotype that I give just so that I can get this golden hypocrisy.

Listen to Jack. The ugly truth is our small community can be toxic at times Try to have fun, whatever gives you it, and avoid what doesn't, and you should be ok.
Then why aren't we removing people who are showing time and again that their actions are a stream of constant griefing?
People who have time and again shown that they are ''cool'' because they are "known for having no interest in roleplay and value their PVP skills as the association their name should have with the game". You know, ones that go full meme-mode on a livestream of a popular youtuber who has given Disco a chance and their in-group messages of "*** roleplay" and "Not like anyone RPs here" is currently up to be seen for the 10 000+ watches that video got by now?

PSA: If you have been having stutter/FPS lag on Disco where it does not run as smoothly as other games, please look at the fix here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2306502

Admins from time to time ban people, but then decide to let them come back...

Seriously that happened?
Ah come on. *sighs*
Sometimes, I just think this community is beyond hope of salvation.
