So, where exactly you add DLL? Discovery 4.88.1 install in EXE folder, or original Freelancer install in EXE folder?
I am experiencing some sort of FPS drops aswell. It's all fine in menu, around 50,60 but when I get ingame it drops to 20-40
and it's constantly freezing, like it's every third frame or so gets bugged or something, dunno how to describe it. It gets worse the bigger ship I fly, and if there are some bases in sight radius.
I tried fresh installs of both Freelancer and Discovery, and it doesn't help.
Thank you for clarifying this Alley. I was confused. As for Freelancer running on DirectX 8, I find it strange that they mentioned that DIrect X9c was required back when the game launched. That means the game was designed to run on DirectX9 c.
We're at DirectX 12 nowadays, I can imagine that the game is no longer running as it should.

Never touch the original.
Put it in the EXE folder of your Disco install.
