I disagree, as if you do that, then there would always be a small fleet blocking the smuggling points and you would only be able to make 'honest' profit during the times when they are distracted by something like a capship or another.
Barrier Gate station was camped already and pretty much metagaming style.
I think the idea should be assembling a convoy with escorts - limiting the traders to RP related IDs.
I barely remember that this happened already.
PS: I could trade much more profit on my faction trader this morning/noon.

That's the sense behind a blockade. I would rather have them block the entrances which could cause pews in addition to trading then having them block Barrier Gate/Kodiak with caps.

Event is suppose to generate activity, transports will have to seek for protection to break the blockade. There is no point to make a powertrade fest, powertraders aren't people.
I must say that I'm disappointed at how things were done to supply the Kodiak; Metagaming, low RP style and complete no sens of organization. We had Orbital Spa and Cruise, Junkers, Freelancers. I wouldn't be suprised to see nomads transporting the goods.
p.S. Edit: People who supplied station by roleplay dont know that Alaska exists, and not to mention that no =LSF= showed, or at least I didn't seen any doing this event any good.

Some of us are either too nice to be pirates or too bad at PvP to be bounty hunters, so we have to make money somehow.
This makes me a nonperson as I do uncut diamonds to resupply my quickly lowered reserves(stop buying ships and codenames and you won't lose any, dummy! Also stop dying via planets.)
I have tried RP-related trade but it lost profitability fast when I noticed pirate groups stalking me from Alpha to 19, where I was, then chasing me down to Liberty.
Eh, I also played as blockade at Z21, but only saw one ship(which got torn to shreds via Navy Guard LABC NPC) in the area.
All in all, maybe lower the profit values during server downtimes? Sounds way too complex to actually carry out.
