As you might have noticed the forums and wiki have been slightly sluggish every now and then. Some incidents showed up as well, the most recent being the SQL one that rendered the forums unusable for a few hours.
The admins have evaluated the possible options and we're going to perform some modifications to disco's infrastructure as to put it simply, we don't have any spare room anymore.
To explain a bit more in depth what the current issue is: We have everything on the same physical server and restricted to a 120gb disk. That disk is approximately split in two and allocated to two virtual machines, one being the web server and the other the game server. This is not ideal when you have to deal with huge single-core loads like we do for FLServer but it's the best we could do in the very little time we had back then. We're going to do things nice and proper this time around as we're not fighting the clock (well, a bit less).
To fix this, discovery will now operate with two separate servers. One for the web, one for the game.
The current server is paid until mid-november thanks to the generous donations of the community last spring, so at the moment migrating the game server is not the priority (as weird as it might sound, I know) and will not be done as we are still evaluating our possible solutions for the game server. Instead, the web part is the main focus due to the diversity (and complexity) of the elements that need to be migrated, but also because it was the cheapest part of the migration.
From your end you should not perceive anything except the wiki being down at some point and the forums locked at another point. This isn't all going to happen today as there are many background systems that need to be migrated first (such as the development repository) but due to the transfers and backups that will be done it's possible there will be intermittent unavailabilities. Generally I'll try to keep downtime to be as little as possible.
Additionally, a news that might make some people really happy (looking at you @Yber) is that we're cutting ties with OVH. Their service has been poor to say the least (I personally don't know of any hosting company that just tells you to deal with it when the server you're renting dies and it takes them two weeks to get it back online, including full data loss) so well, they're not going to be missed.
For those who are wondering if there is going to be a donation drive soon, yes, there will be for the game server. We'll try to take a decision regarding it as soon as possible. All-around the cost for the initial purchase is expected to be a little high due to setup fees which is unavoidable when you decide to work with a good service.
This thread will be bumped whenever an important part of the migration happens.

No. I'm dedicating time to doing this because I currently can, but I'm very much busy with my life.
I really can't give disco as much time as I used to.

It's not known yet, we're still deciding which offer we're gonna go with for the game server as this is the most expensive and most important network-wise.
The current ideal choice for the game server cost ~45€ per month (and we get a whooping 3.9ghz CPU!), which is still less than what we currently pay per month. The downside is the 60€ one-time setup fee if we go with it. Alas it's the best offer in every possible way so it's likely to be the chosen one.
The web server is paid entirely by <redacted> to relieve some donation stress, hence why donations will always go towards the pot for the game server.
