**a recorded message plays out*
Greetings, and well met, ladies and gents of the Unioners. This is Tokiomi Katagawa speaking, in representation of the Hogosha Association. Our feeble contacts in the past have withered with the time, and upon hearing reports of new sightings by our associates of renewed Unioner activity in Frankfurt and Rheinland, it was deemed important to rekindle our awareness for each other.
As you can see from the presence of our Gheisha envoy, the relationship between our organizations is not a deal that is set in stone and endures timelessly. Knowing that, it falls upon the respective leaderships to discuss and pan out the desired efforts of cooperation and exchange.
There have been changes in Rheinland, in the Sigmas, and I dare say, in Kusari, since the last time Unioners and Hogosha last came to terms, and the wider avenues of transit in the sigma cluster could have the potential of more interesting, even bolder joint projects.
For this and other purposes, we would like to get acquainted with the representatives of the active cells of the Unioners, and maybe arrange a meeting for a more direct negotiations. I await your remark on these subjects.
With our cordial regards.
Tokiomi Katagawa, representative of the Hogosha Association.
To: Someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. From: Armin Jansen. Subject: Gottestöter
Well well.
You must excuse my absence. Both myself and, well… Boyle… have been in retreat. Diplomatic considerations became secondary. The Hogosha, self-contained as you are, as ancient as our own cause, will know the importance of attending to your own flock before attempting to steal another man’s sheep.
The rogue sheep are now mutton. Unfortunately their skins are hardly wearable, but you may find them on display, vacuum dried, amongst the Crow Nebulae.
There is a rumour frittered about us. It is postulated by those who stand to gain from our destruction - who we have been progressively thwarting for four and a half centuries. They rage and bellow till we silence them. Mad cows. Another livestock metaphor. Sometimes they scrabble together in pitiful displays of soft power - the Bundschuh, the Hessians. Other instances; hard. The GMG, the Xenos. We laugh at them. We feed on their hate.
The Unioners are vast, Hogosha. There is no true census of our numbers - nor who is in, and who is not. We are not a faction, a sub-let, a roving band of terrorists. We are an under-society. We are the ghost of a Rheinland long past - a revenant that can’t quite stay in its grave no matter how many stakes they drive through our chest. Cells, then, is the correct word. We are the children of many prisons. Our history is longer than the old nation of Germany itself when the colony ships broke out from the dawn of Sol, and the bedlam of the past fell to an end.
The Sigmas. The Sigmas.
It always starts, and ends, in the Sigmas. In the blue hell. How odd that the rawest elements of creation - hydrogen - a celestial nursery - craft only destruction in the hearts of men.
The Gas Mining Guild. We have a common agency, Hogosha. We have both seen the institutions of our houses corroded by those who hold the sector’s fuel lines, Hogosha. We have seen the corporations of our home houses, once proud employers of our countrymen, eroded by the globalism the GMG espouse. Their profligacy, their usury, their greed, has forced Samura and Kruger alike from the riches that should remain rightfully theirs. Once, the borders of Kusari and Rheinland touched. They are now prized apart. Kishiro in Kusari, ALG in Rheinland - our own corporations have become lackeys of alien interests; puppets of the GMG.
They are repulsive; thus, they must be repulsed.
Those who control the elements of creation, control everything. They control life. They control death. They have the power to choose who lives, and who dies.
The Eighty Years War destroyed Rheinland, Hogosha. But they could not destroy us all. Enough of us remain to continue the fight. Kruger is ready. The Unioners will be ready. Even now Rheinland military vessels defect to our cause. We will wipe the stain clean, Unioners - and with it the toxin of those who thrive off GMG aid; on your side, the Bloody Dragons. On ours, the hated Bundschuh - peasants named after an ancient peasant revolt. Only fitting that they should die like their namesake.
We must be subtle. We must not be hasty. Most imperatively - we must not act alone. It will require us, Kruger, the Dorians, the Farmers Alliance, Samura. We must all act together if we are to slay Gods together. Machinations are at work in the skies around Hammersee and Saigon which will prove essential to determining who wins the narrative of the Sigmas. Us, or them. We must be attentive. One misstep and the opportunity is lost.
A meeting is essential. We suggest Sigma 21.
Be alert.
Thank you for coming to us. It shows will. Grip.
You will need both. Arm yourself with it. Liberally.
