Raven,
I must be a bit transparent, as events as of late have proved that we cannot be protectorates of Sirius, because we cannot be everywhere. I'm not fully clear what your organization stands for, but I know what you fight for, and I can trust you to guide your people well. It is probably no surprise to you that I wish to stay independent of Auxesia itself, however, it is a great asset that I wish to keep. I've been keeping it mostly secret, but I intend to build a capital vessel, designed by my Father, that will replace my aging Hathor. I have teams already in line to work on the project, and I insist your involvement is minimal. I do need something from you, and that is a testing location.
I have many new concepts in play, and no facilities to expand on them, and I've run out of people to contact, as nobody I have comm'ed utilizes a live ballistics range. If you have a location, and perhaps some spare personnel, I'd like to begin doing shielding and weapons tests. I don't need anything extreme, I just need enough space for proof of concept.
Once I have that, I'll move to the Bretonian Armed Forces for further development. I do wish to bring results back to you, if conditions allow.
Hope you're well,
-Dr. James Erzie
We were just talking about you, and something you might be able to help us with. I had already mentioned it earlier.
Right. Live testing grounds, you say?
I can allocate one of the training levels of Ataraxia for your work and study. The observation booths there will prove useful enough to avoid any incidents and monitor progress from a shielded area. Though, give me some details. I'm interested in this project, and I might be able to help with that.
Of course, I'm going to expect some help with ours in return.
Hunt,
These concepts fall under two projects, limited field shield generators, and a coolant project.
The first project is to test a change in shield generating strategy, allowing for focused fields to be applied to sensitive surfaces and hardware to limit damage, rather than fully preventing it. I've toyed with the concept with my suit, attempting to make armor nothing short of a tank. I can't, at least on this scale, use two field controllers around each other because the fields bridge, merge, and ultimately fail from conductive and gravitational arcing. I hypothesize that on a larger scale, not only could I make the shielding more potent, but incorporate a veil and a limited field to protect the same surface. Just a theory, though. I still have yet to stabilize the limited field on its own.
The coolant project is merely a measurement of Helium II, stored at lambda point. I hope you don't mind the power bill, as using hydraulic pumps to compress it to that point is quite difficult and power consuming. However, using a super-fluid as coolant, by incorporating silver nano-tubes, it conducts heat 100 times better than the next coolant. Obviously, even to this day we don't use it because of it's power inefficiency. Something I'd like to change. As a side note, the heat would have to be moved to a sink, a rail-gun or ammunition perhaps, who knows...
Let me know what you need from me,
-Dr. James Erzie
Focusing shields to key points to limit? Have you considered an alternating shield? Cyclonic in nature. The shields commonly used on everyday craft are fixed and designed to disperse impact when hit throughout the shield its self. In today's standards, it isn't the most efficient method. If, however, you're talking small scale specific shielding, it's possible to design it to rotate or cycle around its designated area. This would disperse incoming kinetic and energetic energy more fluidly, increasing longevity of the shield's lifespan and overall strength. Not exactly a cheap method to produce, but it's certainly an avenue you can expand in to.
As for the coolant testing, don't worry. We can enable one of the reserve A-Generators for your testing if you intend to drain a lot of power. It's a good opportunity to test how the generator handles that kind of stress.
Now, what I'd need from you...
I mentioned a while ago that I've given up command of my aging and outdated Dreadnought. This is for more than one reason. The primary being the negotiations with Liberty, whilst the others are due to it not being compatible with any of the upgrades we'd want to install to further its ability on the field. Seven decade old technology is rather irritating to incorporate in to recent AP tech designs. There's often computing and compatibility issues that arise, and the power generators on that vessel can't stay cool enough to support continuous fire of what would pass for its grandchildren firearms.
I mentioned to you that we need to develop a middle ground for cost and combat efficiency. Raven and I have come up with some plans, and we'd like to speak to you when you arrive at Ataraxia, provided your work doesn't keep you too occupied. From there, we can open a project file and iron out the basics of our ideas.
Raven and Hunt,
I'll be setting off for Ataraxia here shortly, and I'll be leaving the Talandar in Viktoria's command for the time being. I've been fully supplied for my tests, and hope for some results. The minor scale tests have some results, so it's moderately promising.
On the subject of your designs, I have reviewed some reference material, and I'm ready to move forward with it. Ship engineering is rather complex, and power grids themselves can have many nuances for efficiency maintenance. Know that my participation will be secondary to my actual tests, as potential quantum leaps are on the horizon. That isn't to say I wont give you my most excellent work, but a majority of my time will be on my personal projects.
I'll be planet-side in about 4 hours, we can discuss more then.
-Dr. James Erzie
Raven and Hunt,
I'm slightly disappointed we did not get to speak when I was on Ataraxia, however, we have obviously since discussed what was necessary. You have my full support in your innovative vessel endeavor, for a small cost. We can discuss further stipulations on that matter, however, it can wait.
I've brought it to your attention that I am now a member of the Ingenuus Research Group, and with such, some of my time will be dedicated to working with my new colleagues; I'm sure you both understand. This was a matter of facility acquisition, and moderate resource availability. I need more brilliant minds to achieve my goals faster, as one cannot be a master of all trades. The more I focus on energy emissions, the less I feel I know about another field, however, breakthroughs on one front facilitate another.
I look forward to creating something to extend the gap between us and our adversaries. Call it a show of force, if you will.
-Dr. James Erzie
Raven and Hunt,
I'm not sure what methods you enlist for your recruitment, but there may be a need for additional quality control. I'm slightly aggravated, and extremely unsettled by this individual. Nesrin Kahn, as I was informed they were called, has a terrible sense of arrogance and recklessness due to their inability to think rationally. They may have the ability to think logically and strategically, but there is no respect or decency in their actions. I'd argue they have a complete lack of humanity if it weren't so fitting.
I've provided the blackbox record of our first and following interactions.

[16.01.2017 22:52:59] Kublai: Now who'se using false logic?
[16.01.2017 22:54:19] IRG|Warden: J: Don't make me betray what I've worked for. You tire me with your circles...
[16.01.2017 22:54:33] IRG|Warden: J: What is justice?
[16.01.2017 22:54:38] IRG|Warden: J: Who defines it?
[16.01.2017 22:54:45] IRG|Warden: J: You obviously know.
[16.01.2017 22:54:56] Kublai: *crisply* It's called a holding pattern. And no, I don't.
[16.01.2017 22:55:06] Kublai: There's no objective justice. Just the ones you decide.
[16.01.2017 22:55:29] Kublai: However the bigger-guns-will-always-work-an-eye-for-an-eye approach
[16.01.2017 22:55:38] Kublai: is just going to lead to them taking a leg.
[16.01.2017 22:55:48] IRG|Warden: J: Precisely. The sooner you realize that, the sooner you will understand that life, evolution, and adaptation are not logical.
[16.01.2017 22:56:23] Kublai: *grins* Right. Except they are. Solar radiation and the right chemicals being in the right place at the right time to create...
[16.01.2017 22:56:34] IRG|Warden: J: If perfect logic could exist in humans, we could move on, but it doesn't
[16.01.2017 22:56:36] Kublai: protein chains. Life is not theological, it's chemical. Physical.
[16.01.2017 22:56:51] Kublai: But it does. Survival through aggregate and chaos.
[16.01.2017 22:57:06] IRG|Warden: J: You state the trivial, leave me, I have work to do.
[16.01.2017 22:57:26] Kublai: I'm sure you do. Enjoy getting shot, dying alone, and not bringing up kids, Doctor Frankenstein.
[16.01.2017 22:57:51] IRG|Warden: J: Already done that, naive.
[16.01.2017 22:58:00] Kublai: Hah! They dead yet? Mine are.
[16.01.2017 22:59:17] [TAZ]Dark.Temple: Hagbard: ah, kallisti again
[16.01.2017 22:59:24] IRG|Warden: J: ...hello...
[16.01.2017 22:59:51] 2017-01-16 22:59:48 SMT Traffic control alert: [TAZ]Dark.Temple has requested to dock
[16.01.2017 23:00:13] Kublai: *through gritted teeth* Personal malaise aside - I still have to escort your frickin' recalcitrant ass.
[16.01.2017 23:00:40] Attention! Stand clear. Towing [TAZ]Dark.Temple
[16.01.2017 23:00:55] IRG|Warden: A: This vessel does not move, nor does it require escort.
[16.01.2017 23:01:02] Kublai: So if you don't mind, I'll sit here with the communicator off. -She severs the line with so much static you wonder if she punch
[16.01.2017 23:01:10] Kublai: *punched her own headset*
[16.01.2017 23:01:46] Kublai: *Whistles* you've never seen what a few nomad bombers can do to that Q ship, have you mate?
[16.01.2017 23:02:00] Kublai: Wait wait, radio silence. God damn it, you're making this hard.
[16.01.2017 23:02:29] IRG|Warden: A: Combat expertise; sufficient. All adversaries vanquished; a failed effort.
[16.01.2017 23:04:06] [TAZ]Dark.Temple: Hagbard: Kallisti auxesian, how the day?
[16.01.2017 23:04:24] Kublai: *mumbling* I'm not an Auxesian.
[16.01.2017 23:04:30] Kublai: My ship just says I am.
[16.01.2017 23:04:53] Kublai: As for the day? Don't know. Consistent. It's twighlight if we're using Tirane as a refference frame.
[16.01.2017 23:04:54] IRG|Warden: A: Activity noted.
If I continue to receive this low level of consideration from your subordinates, you can plan on my productivity to decrease. I don't have time to wallow in the misery and arrogant logic of an individual. There's too much work to be done.
Please note my previous message as well.

____ MESSAGE
James,
Sorry for the delay. Given the circumstances in the Omicrons, I'm sure you'd understand why it's taking us a while to get around to everything.
It's good to have your support for the AXC, and I'm somewhat gladdened to hear that you've decided to take on a position with the Ingenuus Research Group. We work closely with them, or try to as often as possible, and have even given them some laboratory space on Ataraxia for joint research endeavors in Kansas. I'm a personal friend to Hans Von Goeben, and I'm heavily invested in locating Finn and seeing him set free. I hope, however, that you're not overburdened by the recent events and addition of a brand name to your time.
As we had discussed and as you've mentioned, we can't be the master of all trades. We might have qualified personnel to handle every aspect of design, but the problem with that is - well... We tend to design above our ability to create more often than not. I had originally planned to incorporate a modified version of the AXI-A-577 in to the project, but the scarcity of one of the primary elements needed to manufacture such a propulsion system, as well as the test-bed nature of the project its self makes it excruciatingly difficult. I reached out to an old contact some months prior to organize increasing our Logistics fleet size and capability so we could stay on top of supply missions, which gave me the idea to invite them on to the project for propulsion design. I've asked if they may be interested in hearing more, as I already plan a visit to Liberty once our names are finally cleared.
There's a few contacts there who I'm going to dig up for this project. While I've done the primary weapon system design, it couldn't hurt to get some feedback from a company built on weapons manufacturing. Provided they're interested, this will accelerate things a little further, and we may yet see something able to compete on the front lines beyond an aging Dreadnought and stolen Osiris. I've never been overly fond of sending the Eidolon in for combat missions.
As for your second message, I've notified Raven of it, as it requires her attention. Khan's lack of respect towards even the Curator was alarming, and frankly I won't tolerate it. Once Raven decides what to do with the matter, I'll become involved.
Raven and Hunt,
I've not spoken in this channel in some time, but I'd like to establish a few things.
First, as you may know, I've taken the role of director of the Ingenuus Research Group while we figure out what to do about Core's "leverage." Along with that, it means that if we do not conduct official business, my ability to aid you all will be significantly limited. However, if we do contract together, the resources at my disposal are vast in comparison to before. Take that into consideration, as projects come to a close, and new ones open, windows will be short.
Second, I need some administrative control over some of the stations the IRG governs, and I'm considering your group at a designated asset, however, it would only be to uphold our rules and regulations. Self-fulfilling of bounties or hunting of what your faction would consider hostiles would carry no weight in your enforcement. This is all hypothetical, as I'm not entirely certain on Auxesia's resources, however, that brings me to my third and last point.
Members of your group find it fulfilling to violate stated policies, as I was left with this evidence by a group I know you get paid well to eliminate. Regardless of this, there is no stated hostilities with them from the Zoners, and as such, starting an engagement in the NFZ will not be tolerated. For the preservation of interests, as I've looked the other way too many times recently, I will have to collect the necessary fines from the violating parties. Payment can be made to the IRG|Sanctuary at a price of 10 million per personnel, totaling 20,000,000 cr. I cannot afford to keep covering your backs in my position, so please, heed my warning to adhere to the Confederacy's rules and regulations.
