To be honest, that should be the default size of all battleships. They should be bigger compared to smaller crafts like snubs.
Anyway, I like the design. But I don't think Bretonia needs a human version of the suncrusher right now, but rather a battlecruiser.
Why not Battlecarrier? Think of Homeworld's Turanic Raider carrier here.
Bretonia is torn apart for having no steady economy with loss of Leeds, so canibalizing some destroyers into light carriers would make sense in my opinion.
Update 2017-02-10: Made a large dome, replacing the awful control tower and assuming its role. The head and the side-things improved, need to improve the belly and add some smaller details here and there before texturing.
Damn, I had no idea so many people would like it. I'm making this just for fun (won't mind if it's dropped, I just like the idea about a completely new capital shipline) and actually, I've learned a lot more creating this thing, so hopefully I will be brave enough to create any ship that will be needed (btw, @Unlucky_Soul 's battlecruiser is awesome, wasn't it supposed to be it?).
Very nice model Barb. I really like that the ship looks Gothic - which is the vanila Bretonian style - the ship looks as if its really part of the original ship line. Currently the only eye spiking issues are the square shapes of the modules. Your p3d.in link with the comparison between the dunkirk and your model clearly can bold my point. All you have to do to fix this issue is to pay attention to the dunkirk "curves" and try to fix the curent square edges. You can add few more windows at the rear/aft/back sides etc. Also the side external engines need rework - make them look different than the main two. Maybe smaller version similar in design and close to the destroyer or gunboat ones...your call but in this way you will reduce the level of duplication.
Overall without commenting the size - my opinion about the model is this ship looks bretonian so I give it 7/10. Fix the square edges and then start working on the details and in the end - the textures, which would be of great importance to mark this ship as true bretonian vessel. Do this and the ship is 10/10.

Battlecruiser is already way higher up the ship pipeline, I think.

Okay so it looks even cooler now. Like, I can seriously see this as the BAF FLagship. That dome could be the Tea Room.

I was actually thinking of something like that, or atleast a refire rate modifier, primes firing 4.00 (from 2.00) shots in a second. Super-solaris turrets as secondaries with 8.33 fire rate, 3k range and 3000m/s projectile speed. But I don't know if thats possible.
