just don't waste your time buddy. back in the time i guess people used this as an excuse or anything to emphasize on Joining Official/Acitve factions to make cash.
Somethings are not good in disco , but their presence is a need that we understand it once we remove it. For example , Since /restarts are made , good views and bad views are making difference . yet some of us will feel better if /restart system was only for house ones.Or the need of Guard Reps to make capships ?! and most other stuff...
all in all
IF you want Cash . go Trade / become an admin / metagame / become a dev etc....
If you want to cash + Challenge = do missions. and don't expect missions to be as good as hauling.
that's how it works and worked in my time at least.
I never said I want to earn millions on missions. I just pointed out missions are so hard even these 180k isn't worth the hassle - especially when you need circa 500k to refill your snub and you pretty much lose the credits. We are speaking about missions that aren't even enough to refill your ammo alone. Just that.
I don't know what you guys are on about but I could do 1-2 mil missions versus VHFs with relative ease in a AU8 VHF. In fact I grinded my first AU8 by trading enough to buy an armorless Sabre on a new outcast character and made anti-BHG missions from there on for anywhere between 1 mil and 2 mil. Flying versus NPCs is a bit different than flying versus players but it's not entirely impossible to do even versus a wave of 5-7 lvl 19 VHFs.
If you're saying a 180K reward mission is giving you troubles you're either flying a really bad ship/loadout for combat or could use more practice at flying in general.
I don't see why the thread should be closed. If you got offended by the fact I told you you probably need more practice I'm sorry, but I still see the thread as viable for discussion of things. For instance I know certain factions have no capitals so you could abuse high lvl missions versus them without getting bigger ships to face.

For mission creation or finetuning:
data/randommissions
data/missions
loadout management and creation related inis
asset related inis
knowing npc behavior related inis for finetuning ai behaviour during missions is also useful
Generally speaking, unless you're already familiar and decently experienced with config modding I suggest not to bother with randommissions straight away and start with the basics instead.
Here's a selfish promotion of how to right click NPCs when doing higher difficulty missions. Here are a few tips:
1. Try to maneuver behind most of the enemies, especially if they like to fly in formation, that'll leave a lot of dumb NPCs not doing anything but flying together with your target without doing any shooting.
2. Remember that you're fighting the computer so the enemy ships will always shoot at the crosshair which means the less you EK the better.
3. Strafes are your friend.
4. Don't be an idiot and CD the mines in your own face like I did.
5. Take it easy and relax, there's no pressure to kill the enemy ships as fast as you can. Also there's no rush to make the fastest turn possible, sometimes just dodging and making a wide turn can be just as good considering you're fighting NPCs and not actual players that are trying to get behind you.
6. Pray you didn't pick a mission that'll spawn GBs.
EDIT:
7. Play Danger Zone. No exceptions.
