It isn't about hosting the server. Read what Alley posted - It's about transferring the ownership to King Boo, which should've been done a long time ago. It's an issue with communication from the person hosting the server.
We could skip the part with transferring the ownership to KingBoo. (Nerd)
That's currently what's being questioned. Who in our community is trusted enough to manage the responsibility of the forums and game server? That includes paying for them from the donation pool while being active and capable of managing the server as it is now, and communicating with the staff regularly to avoid these incidents in the first place.
Well, if my community leader allows it, you don't need to pay, cause we are a official registered community (State is aware of us, etc.)
As a member, you pay 3,50€ each month, this how we pay the server. At least one, we have a second one, who is at home at our community leader.
It would mean, donations are still welcomed, but you don't need to pay, because the server is already there.

The server is already hosted somewhere right now. There's no reason to change it to another server when the issue is simply a management one.

Well, for me it's just easier to transfer the stuff before I change the ownership.
Yes, a management issue, but what if we will be forced to do so ? We need to take any alternatives in consideration. Though, the server should be handed to someone else in the given time by Alley + several days if possible.
At this point, as the administration team, we would like you all to calm down and let us go over certain things between ourselves first. While the broadening of staff pool is a must in short term, the issue is that the current activity in Discovery Freelancer is generating more reports than it has done ever before.
In other words, leave us to worry about the technicalities of the server. We will figure it out and hopefully you will not even notice any changes in terms of the server activity or stability once we do.
We, however, would like to see a betterment in the overall attitude of the community towards each other and themselves. At this point, that is the only real thing we would love you to focus on. Be excellent to one another and do not burn the house down while we handle the situation at hand. Go ingame, have fun, help new players, rehabilitate old ones. There are very little things we as staff ''require'' from you, but at this point those that were just mentioned would be it.

Instituting monthly fees to members would also not help the mod.
The issue at hand isn't that the server is in rough shape. The server is fine. It's a matter of which person in our community is responsible for managing it, with some experience in hosting an FLServer. Someone trusted by the staff to handle the job.

This is another thing people should really consider as it's a crucial part of the health of our community.

Please remind me again of it. I think I'm tired since I've said here and there, better attitudes, better experience. But who really cares ?

Short answer? No one.
Long answer? You got to believe in someone that they will do the job. That what is being in a community is. You got to believe that people will follow what they said they would take as their responsibility. Does it mean that you can trust in someone? Nope. Does it mean you have to trust in someone? Yep.
